The historical building is beautiful, which adds to the travesty of what they have done with the place. Our room was on the second floor facing the square. There was no insulation, or soundproofing and we were given only one blanket to share. As a result I caught a cold from the draft from the window and because the yelling from the street and the pungent smell of urine kept us awake. The following day we asked for another blanket, which we got, but we were kept awake between 3-6 AM by manic chatter from upstairs, but at least we had two blankents. They only clean the rooms every second day and after the cleaning we still had to ask for toilet paper, which the had neglected to provide us with. They also promptly removed the spare blanket that we had asked for. God knows why? The breakfast was the most dismal thing I’ve seen: bad coffee, a bit of bread and cheese, some cuts of meat yoghurt snd cereal. This was only overshadowed by the absolute lack of style in furnishing a historical building with Ikea-style furniture and cheap sliding doors. There should be laws against that type of thing. At least the man at the reception was nice, but that doesn’t account for much. I sincerely hope nobody else makes the mistake of booking this hotel. It’s not worth it.
