Grand Teguise Playa

Me and my family stayed at Grand Teguise Playa from the 10th-21st August on the all-inclusive package. Upon arrival there was a luggage room to store our bags until the check-in time. The gentleman on reception was helpful and friendly, explaining everything we needed to know including restaurant times, towels and the hotel facilities. The rooms are spacious, modern, very clean and have everything you need for a comfortable stay, including a mini fridge, a safe and a hair dryer. We celebrated my mum’s birthday whilst on holiday and we had a complimentary bottle of prosecco in each room which was a nice touch. The food in the restaurant was very nice. Some nights had different themes such as Mexican or Italian. The outside snack bar in the late afternoon was great too, dojng hotdogs, burgers and toasties. The alcoholic drinks from the bars were nice, and most of the drinks we had used the real branded spirits which was a good surprise. There is a different selection of cocktails, but they tend to be nicer from the inside bar. The pool is big and is split in half so one side is cold and the other side is heated, and it is a salt water pool. Most of the entertainment activities take place in the heated pool. The rush for sun loungers isn’t as bad as other hotels. To get some in a good spot I’d say you have to be down there around 8am but most of them are in the sun all day anyway. In the mornings it is very very windy and a lot of the sun loungers were blowing in the pool, and this happened throughout the day when the loungers and parasols were left unattended. When this happened the lifeguard didn’t seem to be too bothered and guests had to keep getting the loungers out of the pool. There is a gate by the pool that takes you out towards the little beach. This was fun to go down to and swim in the sea. The entertainment team were good, notably the gentleman who was there everyday all day in good spirits! He was friendly, energetic and entertained all the guests from 10am through till 11pm. The nightly entertainment was good, different every night with acts coming into the hotel to perform inside and singers performing outside. We really enjoyed the Duet Grenade act in particular, they were brilliant! There is also a gym onsite, however quite a lot of the machines weren’t plugged in so most of them were out of use. There was free wifi throughout the hotel, but it worked best in the rooms and not great around the pool. There are lifts also dotted around the hotel making each floor accessible. There are vending machines in reception with a few snacks in but there is also a Spar over the road to get some snacks. Outside the hotel there are plenty of bars, restaurants and shops. The hotel also isn’t far from the waterpark, we visited one day and reception called us a taxi. And the hotel is about a 20-30 minute drive away from the airport. Just had a lovely week at this hotel with my husband and two adult sons. The location is spot on, nice rocky little cove directly near hotel, great for snorkelling my boys loved it. Two pools one deeper and a shallower pool which was colder. Nobody went in the cold one hardly but we actually loved it, had it to ourselves. Sun loungers there was sadly the old get up early for a lounger issue, not a problem for me as I’m an early riser. Rooms no complaints. The were clean and up to date, there was water left on arrival and feel the room could have done with a small fridge to allow us to keep drinks cool. Just had basic tea and coffee which was disappointing, expected more as its ment to be 4/5 star. So perhaps a fridge could be an improvement. Loved the fact drinks were served in real glasses in the evening, which isn’t always the case in some all inclusives. Also some drinks were well known brands. Entertainment was a mixed bag of all sorts, a little cheesy but it’s what you expect. If you’re willing to embrace that you’ll enjoy it. But we also made our own entertainment. Food was not always on point every day but we did have some great days with salmon fillets and pork. Wasn’t awful but not perfect either. Wine given in a jug made my husband very happy. Most staff were friendly and as long as you’re polite they were too. I got the feeling other countries might not have been polite to them. The hotel overall is good and location is perfect. Will definitely visit again

First time me coming here in August and we had such a great time. We were honestly wowed when we first came into the hotel because it was so beautiful. We got a room on the 5th floor which had an amazing view and was private. Lovely laid out rooms and they were so clean. I found the bed and pillows to be so comfy as they used a memory foam mattress topper. The air con was nice and quiet so we were able to sleep with it on. Looking at reviews before coming, I was worried about the food but I was very surprised at how good it was and how much they had. All the reviews I have seen say breakfast is the best meal of the day but I beg to differ as the evening meal was spectacular. It’s different every day and there’s always something for you to eat. I am a picky eater and I always throughly enjoyed each meal. I did come in August so as you can guess there were sunbed wars around the pool. Not to the point where people run out to reserve their bed at 8am but there’s usually no beds left at 12pm is until about 3/4pm. This wasn’t a problem for us though as we don’t like to lay out all day. Most of the staff speak Spanish, English and German which is nice as it makes everyone feel included. To sum things up, we had a great time and we will definitely be back. Anyone thinking of booking, don’t worry about the negative reviews, you can’t please everyone.

Hotel was lovely. I was allocated an adapted room in error by Tui but I was in room 455 and I could not fault room and the view even though not sea view was still pleasant. Staff were very friendly especially the entertainment team. Hotel was situated perfect and was easy stroll to shops and restaurants. You have to try the Indian restaurant straight opposite hotel my son has a nut allergy and they were fantastic explaining what he could and couldn’t have and offered meals that could be cooked with a substitute. The canary kebab was also very nice. Only downside was the selection of food even though it was still nice breakfast far outweighed the lunch/tea offers. Overall a very pleasant stay

We visited here for 11 nights during August and we really enjoyed our stay. The rooms were very spacious and always cleaned very well. All of the staff were very friendly, but kind of understaffed. The restaurant was really well cleaned, with food options changing to represent each country overnight, however there are not many food options for young children. The pool area was very clean, and includes 2 pools - one being cold and one warm. There are plenty of sun beds to choose from, but like most hotels, you would have to be up early to get the sun bed you want. It was fairly windy between 9-11am, but afterwards was very hot. The entertainment in the day was good, and the entertainment man was very funny and energetic, which is very good for his type of job. Entertainment during the night was changed every night to something new and most of the time was really good, the best performance for us was the Duet Grenade show on Friday 16th. The only issue was how they provide a gym, but there was only a few equipment plugged in and half of it not working. There was free wifi throughout, but needed a code. We would definitely return here in the future.

Beautiful hotel 10 out of 10 marks every staff member works tirelessly hard to assist every guests to serve with smiley face with a laugh. also the cleaners are included the cleaners clean the rooms immaculately and the whole Hotel. Food and drinks are superb Will be back again soon such a relaxing atmosphere inside and out the hotel perfect vacation. Just returned from this amazing hotel had 14 night wish we’d booked 21 what an amazing hotel staff food and location, please don’t believe the negative reviews of this amazing hotel it as to be one of if not the best hotel we have ever had as a family of 4 my 14 year old son loved it so much he didn’t want to come home so we’ve already booked for next year already Lanzarote here we come, the staff are second to none the food was excellent you could alway find something to eat and it was hot not always cold like some people like you to believe the hotel was spotless and welcoming the staff always polite even though they are under tremendous pressure to serve you the pool man who I talked to every morning did an outstanding job as did the restaurant staff who made us feel very welcome. See you next year and thank you for an amazing holiday.

Lovely hotel it certainly looks grand inside Really great rooms so comfy beds was a bit cold in may at night but had blankets and pillows as extra in rooms pool area really good Only down fall was lunch and evening meals were disappointing all meals were fish baste I hate fish uncooked barbecue food we had to buy most of our own meals outside of hotel which is not good when you have spent all that money for hotel and meals they really need to revise menu please I would have gone there again but not for food sorry
