This is our third time staying at Salbore, and we always receive a warm welcome that makes it feel like home. We upgraded to the second-best room, 1041, and opted for full board on arrival. Our room was just epic, with incredible views and a spacious balcony, lovely living room, and bathroom area. However, a few things were missing: USB sockets, labeled Nespresso pods, essential toiletries, and wine glasses. The breakfast service hasn’t changed much, and sometimes it’s difficult to get tea and coffee served in the morning. They don’t provide sugar; you have to fetch it yourself. For lunch, there was an additional area with an extremely limited menu at the club. The evening meal wasn’t as great as before. There were many new waiters, and sometimes we waited 15 minutes to be acknowledged and halfway through our meal to get a drink. At the rooftop pool area, they have changed the beds to yellow leather ones, which just absorb the heat and stain your clothes. However, I do love the new bar and restaurant, which is now run by a third-party company. I go to the gym every day on holiday, and this gym is looking old, tired, and a bit dirty. For six years, they have been missing one 12kg and 20kg dumbbell. Better machinery is needed for a 5-star resort. On our last two occasions, when we upgraded, we had unlimited use of the spa area. This time, it was only once during our stay, which made us a bit sad. When we spoke with the reception team, they weren’t very helpful. Overall, we still love this hotel and would come back. It’s a very relaxing place with amazing views and is still one of my top three resorts in Gran Canaria.
