Selina River Venao

Very disappointing. Terrible management, albeit the premises are nice. I had booked Selina Beach and got moved last minute by management to Selina River, where they gave us a room (305), despite it had been flagged by maintenance to management as unfit for guests, due to a large water leakage from the shower. Spent two days mopping the floor instead of enjoying our holiday, until eventually the room was changed. The new room didn’t have furniture: table, chairs etc. No help was given -nor offered- by receptionists to move the furniture (and personal items). We had to move the furniture ourselves. To complete the experience, the electricity plugs of the new room bunk beds didn’t work. All the management was able to do was to send a copy-paste standard apology via WhatsApp. Holiday ruined by very bad management. Absolutely NOT RECOMMENDED.

Beautiful location, lots of chill hippies. Very quiet and peaceful. Awesome restaurant Almendro with good coffee and breakfast. All the party people stay at Selina Playa and the laidback people stay at Selina River. Nice Yoga shala with awesome Yoga lessons. Only downside is that the bathrooms are a little smelly and it needs more maintenance. But overall a good place to stay in venao. We stayed 3 weeks.

They have a nice pool area and hammocks near the rooms for relaxing in the shade. Would be nice to have more shelves in the micro room for storage. Close to the beach and good surf. Sometimes there are monkeys hanging around which is cool. Bathrooms were okay but they are really dark, new lights would help. Cleaners are coming through all rooms often and keeping things tidy.

Very nice atmosphere, restaurant is very good !!! Kind staff. The dorms are also nice and include ac. The kitchen could be cleaner and the soaps in the shared bathrooms are not always refilled. But overall, good hostel would recommend to stay!
