My hubby and I are just back from a Lazy Sunday stay at your hotel. We had arranged our afternoon tea for 12 noon and we had dinner booked for 7.30pm to allow us to have space in our tummies for the dinner. The afternoon tea was great with everything you could ask for. It was well presented and the quality of everything was spot on. I had mixed feelings about the mushroom and tarragon soup as I don't like mushrooms but this was delicious. The waitress on clearing our table commented on the fact that we had finished everything as it was the first time she had seen clean plates in a while, we did say that it wasn't an effort to finish it as it was so good. Our check in at 2pm was smooth and we were really pleased when we were given an upgrade to the Jade suite which was so unexpected. The suite was very spacious and very tastefully decorated. It had two large TV's, one in the lounge and one in the bedroom. The kingsize bed was so comfortable and had good quality bedding. The biggest bonus was that the very large bathroom had a jacuzzi bath and a large walk in shower which we did make use of twice. Large and good quality towels were provided and two towelling bathrobes added to the experience. As the weather was lovely we were able to have the patio doors open to the small balcony. Our meal at night was excellent and the staff very pleasant. Our breakfast in the morning had a great selection to chose from and when I asked for my bacon to be put on the side of my pancakes, bacon and maple syrup it wasn't a problem to the waiter (who we had seen on previous visits, last one being 2019 which is reassuring to the way you look after your staff). The offer was advertised as Lazy Sunday and this what we had. We had a walk round the outside of the hotel, taking photos of the lovely flowers and on the bridge and we also sat for a while reading our books in the garden (all of this possible because of the great weather). This was our third visit to the hotel is something that we hope to be able to do again soon. Thank you all at The Radstone.

Lovely hotel, directly off the motorway (so a car is necessary). We stayed for one night because we were going to a concert in Strathaven. The owner was a very friendly man, and the room was lovely. A huge comfortable bed, hot shower, clean linens, small toiletries, and tea/coffee in the room. We had a great stay.

Perfect if you want to stay over night for yourself or for business trip. There’s a bar and restaurant at the location. The room I stayed was small, but was clean and perfect if your need a room to stay overnight. Hotel is in a good location. Staff were kind and helpful
Quaint hotel with lots of charm and appeal. Located within easy access to Edinburgh, Glasgow and Stirling! Adele and her staff took great care of us and we would definitely stay again if we are back in Scotland! Just be forewarned that there is no elevator, so you will need to carry luggage up the stairs! They also serve a great full breakfast!
The service provided was pleasant. The hotel is located along the highway and has a supermarket beside with some fast food joints. The hotel is not exactly in a touristy location but it serves as a convenient location to branch out and back when visiting multiple places. Breakfast was served with sausages, bacon, eggs, cereal, etc. pretty normal of which both my children had enjoyed.
Room was clean and spacious with the double bed and sofa bed.
If we are visiting Scotland in future, this hotel will definitely be on our consideration.
Stayed here for 1 night payed £75 so wasn't expecting much. But what a beautiful hotel and all the staff were first class I would stay here anytime and highly recommend it.I will definitely will stay here again. Great fir getting to livingstone outlet
Upon arrival the hotel is beautiful from the outside and the free parking is a bonus. When we went to check in we waited for ages and no one appeared, we had to press the ring door bell outside and eventually a lady arrived to check us in. We had called over a week ago and asked if we could check in early, when we told the lady this she said she hadn’t been made aware that we called but she did still let us check in early, I asked if the hotel had a lift and it felt like she took offence at me asking because the building is “SO old” okay I’m not a mind reader, it was a simple question and we have stayed in old buildings before that have lifts. Room was on the top floor, had to lug heavy suitcases up, the room was small but comfy, it was a hot day and was disappointed to find no fan in the room so we had to leave the window open all night and was woken by people outside talking. The bathroom was awful, you couldn’t swing a cat and the water pressure was the worst thing we have ever experienced in our lives, at one point the water stopped working all together, you also had to turn it on and leave it 10 mins to heat up. We also got woken up 2 days in a row by the loud slamming of the other doors from the rooms, the bed was comfy with nice bedding but the TV only has about 5 functioning channels. Check out is 10am which is bizarre, you have to pay £10 extra to stay until 12pm and of course there was no staff when we checked out. The best thing about this hotel is the location! It’s a stones throw from the train station and has a small highstreet with some nice shops! Even though it wasn’t a great experience, we would go back and maybe book a larger room on a lower floor because the location was excellent for what we paid, if they could get the staffing and water situation sorted out it would rate so much higher!
I work as a surgeon freelancing around Scotland and Europe. Quite easily the comfiest beds out of the usual that I stay in these include Holiday Express, Premier Inn and Travelodge. Ive been here about 4 times since September now staying for up to a month at a time. The staff couldn't be more helpful - from the juniors (Cat and Gaby) and the seniors (Alan and Lee) as standout regulars (I have omitted the other names as am post shift and suffering memory loss) I have had nothing but unstinting service and have no complaints about how im dealt with. Im not sure what the others are expecting as this is not a 4 star hotel but the food is good (especially steak) and comes in sizeable portion and Ive personally found the cleanliness of the rooms excellent. Ive tried to contact Marston's to say they should be praising their staff more but this falls on deaf ears. Without the good will of the staff this place would get poorer reviews. For those complaining about the price if you book a few weeks in advance you can get the price down to about 59 per night which for what you get is excellent. It's approx 10 mins drive from all main road arteries and opposite one of Scotlands largest sports clubs if you fancy a walk-in for a weights session.
