"The hotel staff were amazing and very friendly. They took time to greet us and learn our children’s names, which was very kind. The staff did a great job and showed care during the earthquake and we felt safe as they did a thorough inspection of the property. The breakfast was great and offered a good variety of food. As wonderful as the staff was, we were disappointed with the beach. It is quite small and very rocky. We wish we would’ve known this before booking as we have small children who were looking forward to soft sand and swimming. One of our children got cut the first day due to the rocks. Had we been aware we would’ve prepared better or booked elsewhere. The pictures on the hotel site are a bit misleading. We tried to cancel our booking halfway through so we could travel to a softer beach down south, but the hotel rejected our request. We enjoyed the pools and found them very nice, however not being able to jump in is a bit unfortunate. Our young children wanted to jump and were told they couldn’t. The hotel just didn’t seem very kid friendly when it came to the amenities."

"During our check-in, the staff welcomed us and helped with our luggage. My partner and I were served with refreshing juice while checking in and shown to our rooms. Very good service. The entire resort was spacious and the amenities were well-maintained. The gym was very kind and a great choice putting it next to the spa, very relaxing ambience. It gave us a sense of security and peace of mind. Very good spread for breakfast. Would recommend it to my friends and family."

"My wife and I stayed for 2 nights aand 3 days, and overall we were satisfied. The most impressive thing was the kindness of the staff. They were always smiling and greeeting first. I especially want to mention one person. While having breakfast in the restaurant, there was a staff member with a big smile whom I want to recongnize by her name: Her name was Andrea. She was so kind that food tasted even better. One thing I was disappointed about was room service. The TV didn't work in the room, so I couldn't wathch the news. Regular services including bedsheet & beth towels changes was not smooth."

"Came here to celebrate our anniversary. We took our 7 month old with us. My wife wanted to be proactive to see if they had a cot and bottle sterilizer on premise. However the reservation agents we were speaking with online would not confirm one for us. All they kept saying was that it’s based on availability upon arrival. Well after several back and forth emails, they finally agreed to let us reserve one. To me that defeats the purpose of reserving one. They made a simple request(yes or no) a very long drawn out process. Anyways, I messaged the manger on duty when we finally checked in and she was way more accommodating and even gave us a little toy for our daughter. Point is, we went for a family vacation, and a simple request turned into a slight aggregation for us.  The property in of itself was nice. Their breakfast buffet was from 6am to 10am. It was well with food. I liked the variety. For their gym, I wish they had better signage on where it’s at. The restaurants were easy to find and they were pretty good. Cowrie Cove is a bit overpriced for me. The other Resturant’s, Buko Bar and Tides have buffet options that’s way more reasonable than cowrie grill. If we go back, we will eat at those places instead. Overall place is 8/10 for me. Good service, they speak English, and it’s clean. Everything is there too and it’s a short trip to the airport. Pro tip, take grab from the airport versus using their shuttle service. Their shuttle service is 4x-5x the price of grab."

"I stayed here because it is across the street from the airport. Waterfront overall condition is acceptable. It needs a renovation as carpets and everything else is showing its age. I decided not to eat at the buffet because it was $25 plus USD. Instead I walked across the street and bought dinner. I didn't use the pool facilities. Outside the building is showing its age. I spent a few minutes in the casino, but it was really warm, more like hot, inside. Overall, Waterfront is nice if you're staying for a day or two and need to stay near the airport. There are nicer properties nearby for better prices, updated renovations, and more amenities."

"We are a couple from Germany and this is our second time in Newtown. I have to say that a lot has improved, especially the beach. It has become beautiful – clean, more organized, and the staff, from the reception to the waiters at the beach, are very friendly. The Filipino hospitality really shines through, and we felt very comfortable. So far, we’ve stayed at Belmont, Savoy, and C Suite, and this place has been the best by far. Everything you need is provided – they even had salt. Very clean, nice TVs, and the Wi-Fi connection was excellent and fast. We wanted to extend our stay, but it was already too late. We sincerely thank you and are very satisfied. We’ll definitely come back and recommend you to others."

"It was okay. The people working there were very friendly and the layout of the place was decent. There’s a lot of construction going on; the spa was closed and they’d be spray painting the bridge going over the pool while people were in the pool. It looked like a job that could’ve been done in a day which they stretched out the entire duration (probably still a parking on it now). The spa was the same- closed and under construction the whole time. The place is next to a big vacant construction lot where dogs would howl for the majority of the night. The majority of the food was awful and overpriced, you’re better off going out to eat. To put it into perspective, a beer at the fanciest restaurant outside the hotel cost 125 pesos, there it cost 265. I accidentally booked 7 days instead of 6 and they wouldn’t refund me which is mainly why I’m writing this brutally honest review. Bluewater down the road it’s much better."

"We thouroughly enjoyed our stay at Savoy. Usage of the beach/pool is included with the rooms. Dinner was fantastic. I had a problem with the room card and the elevator. Sometimes it would not read and missed my floor. The staff was hard working especially during the breakfast buffet because it was so crowded may guests had to wait for tables. It was Father's Day and the last weekend before school started. Other than that everything was great. Thank you."

"Decent hotel. Quite new. Fresh facilities. Good service. Has spa, gym, swimming pools. Beach is nice. Restaurant and a bar are fine. No rooftop bar/restaurant. No rooftop swimming pool. Rooms are spacious. Very basic light switches though, which are complicated to use. Renovation is generally ОК (could be better quality). Location is not very close to the city center. Staff is very polite, friendly, considerate."
