Barceló Lanzarote Active Resort

A very large resort a small supermarket but if not all inclusive would be a problem as to getting cabs to the local town could get expensive Night life for kids good but adults cannot even seat outside in the evening s with a drink as pool bar closes at 6 pm Unless you go to the payable restaurants and champs sports bar not very good if paid for all inclusive We was in block 7 but as there are still steps to the lift if getting on a bit would be a problem as me and my wife 70 and 65 years Overall as we had our son his wife and 3 small grandchildren but they 4 minutes walk away why we wasn’t put nearer each other one would never know but we did not book at the same time they were near the reception and dinning room but did have a few cockroaches in there room trying to use the microwave Overall good resort large pools

We had an amazing experience! We visited in June and stayed on the lower side of the hotel. It was early in the summer so was fairly quiet. The hotel is absolutely beautiful. The staff are amazing and so attentive. We were on half board so breakfast and dinner. The food was great with a massive amount of options for both meals. We had some minor problems during our stay, but they were sorted out by the staff. 2 small problems with our rooms was the bathroom door wouldn’t close properly, fine for a couple but could get uncomfortable depending on who your sharing with. The other was the 2 single beds pushed together to make a double. This is common at hotels like this, but we often found ourselves having to squeeze onto 1 bed, otherwise we would fall down the gap. Apart from that, we had an amazing stay! Thank you so much to your hard working staff!!

Just back from a week @ Barcelo Active Resort . Booked through Love Holidays. Couldn't fault the hotel, coach transfers everything went really well. Great job LOVE Holidays Brilliant hotel, lovely atmosphere, food lovely. We had requested a sea view room which was lovely and it overlooked the beautiful pool area which was a bonus . Even though the hotel is a bit far out from the square in Tequise, you have taxis @ €4 & bus stops right outside the hotel. Bus fare to the square €1.40 (remember to have small change for the bus ) Bus to Porta del Carmen is only €2.95. Or if you love the exercise just walk. Having access to both hotels was brilliant. The Spa is amazing , best treatments we have received abroad. Supermarket across the street with everything you might need. Hope this was helpful

This is a fabulous hotel the rooms are nice comfortable and well cleaned . The was really good always something to eat and very clean . Pool area was and clean loads of beds no rushing out to get the in the morning staff can't do enough for you nothing to much of an issue. Champs bar is nice food and cheap enough aswell to slight down sides the amount of stairs to get to alot of the rooms and it's in the middle of nowhere saying that a taxi is under €4 all in all we had a great stay

Pros- lovely room, lovely view (we booked sea view) every single staff member amazing, lovely food different every day, 25 min to walk in to town if you wanted something different. Cons - shower could have been a bit better kind of like dripped out but for me that was it. I’ve been on a few holidays and I have to say has been the only one where I’ve said I’d definitely come back. Absolutely love the place

Beds comfy. Rooms clean. Pools ice cold and food is just as cold. Didn’t have one hot or even warm meal. Too cold and windy for kids. Hotel nice, drinks nice. Gym good. Depends what you’re after. If it’s food and something for the kids I wouldn’t recommend

We returned from this hotel, after a week, yesterday. We hired a car at the airport and to be honest, if you’re staying here, you need one! There is nothing, close by apart from the hotel. The resort of Teguise is probably a forty minute walk but you can get a bus from outside the hotel. The room was lovely, recently renovated with loads of space, a large balcony too and we had paid for a sea view. We also had a fabulous view of the power station with smoke coming out of the chimneys …. not sure how healthy that is! The cleaning was hit and miss, you couldn’t walk barefoot on the floor because it definitely wasn’t cleaned properly. It was all a bit of a rush job, make the bed, change the towels , that’s it. We were half board and the food was the worst bit. Unless you got to the restaurant for 6.30 ish you ended up queuing for a table, not what you want on holiday. The food was worryingly cool and we avoided meat for safety reasons. Salad was very basic and the food in general wasn’t that great. Breakfast was better but stuff like bacon and sausages looked a bit grim, we had mainly dry stuff and fruit. Even the yogurt was in big bowls, uncovered with people breathing over it and dipping in… yum The island of Lanzarote has improved so much since our last visit, ten years ago , we drove all over and it’s so beautiful and unspoiled. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday but I think we will rent an apartment next time.

Booked & stayed for 9 nights in Late January, very pleased all round. Food was plentiful, plates were hot, selection was marvellous, nothing to complain about. Reception Staff were brilliant, cleaning Lady was full of personality, bar staff were good. Location was perfect one Euro to get into Town on the bus or four Euros in taxi and all were similar. Great walk along the promenade to Costa Teguise Town 50 metre pool was well worth the 3 Euro charge, lots of activity in the day, evening entertainment did show some great Artists, especially the 3 singers. All in All I cannot wait to return. 5++++++++++++++++

We arrived in the evening last Sunday, check in was super quick and the staff were so friendly. You do have to pay €3 a night for the safe but it’s not too bad. We had a queen size bed, not pushed together and it was lovely. Had a lounge area and bathrooms were lovely. Rooms were clean and not a single thing to fault, spare duvet if needed. We preferred the buffet restaurant in the newer building. It was so much quieter, more spacious and way more option. It was also managed a lot better. Snack bar was 10 times better there and just the whole area was absolutely amazing. We went to the Italian one night and it was fabulous. Service was great and 20% off the price if you are all inclusive. I would defo recommend, we wanted to try the Asian but just never got round to it. The pools are cleaned daily and are so lovely. Yes they are slightly cold but in this heat, it’s so lovely. I don’t like pools due to hygiene but these were lovely. Defo recommend. The main pool in the new building was the best but to get a sunbed was difficult. We were down at 08:30 and all taken. The other pools, there are sun beds until like mid day, it’s great but we didn’t like it as much as the newer one. There are a few things that could be improved such as the interior and just little silly bits. Our rooms were cleaned daily, all toilets cleaned daily however the ones by the pool often ran out of soap and was like that for a few days. The cocktails were great, big selection and most of the time, they accommodate to what you ask for. I would definitely stay here again and recommend for all groups of people.
