What a gem of a hotel! Booked this hotel last minute as the one we had originally booked suddenly stopped their half board option. So glad we did. Small, quiet, beautifully decorated and furnished. Rooms large, bed enormous and comfortable, large balcony, all furnished tastefully. Staff are so friendly and helpful, always smiling and nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast was amazing, so much choice. Evening meals were very good, limited choice of 2 starters and 2 mains - always a fish or meat option, nicely presented and cooked. Wouldn't do to be vegetarian though. Fabulous pool, and the gardens were very tastefully done. There's a garage a 5 minute walk away for snacks and bottled water. 30 minute walk along a lovely promenade takes you into Aricife. There is no night life near the hotel so it wouldn't suit anyone wanting clubs or bars. The only fault we could find was they advise you not to drink the tap water and only provide small bottles of water which you have to pay for. For a 5 star hotel it wouldn't hurt to put a large bottle of water in your room every day. Apart from the garage there are no local shops. Thank you to everyone at Villa Vik for looking after us so well. And they have resident cats!

Possibly the most relax, peaceful and quiet holiday I've ever experienced. The hotel is a hidden gem, 15 mins walk along the seafront to Arrecife and approx 25-30 mins to Playa Honda. Nothing else around, no shops, bars, nothing. Just a service station to buy water, crisps, chocolate and ice cream. Water in the rooms would have been appreciated as there's a sign saying not to drink the tap water. Villa Vik was charming, like being in a friend's villa and it's in a residential area, not a resort. It's stylish inside, rooms are big, breakfast was absolutely spot on. Clean and welcoming with friendly staff (when they appeared, service was a little erratic but this wouldn't put me off coming here again). We are out each night in Arrecife or Playa Honda where there are lovely, genuinely Spanish bars and tapas cafes both on and away from the seafront. You can have dinner at the hotel but we chose not to as we like exploring. The bus stop is just 2 mins walk away too. There wasn't a kettle etc in the room but we asked for one on our first night and it arrived straight away. There's a Spar supermarket in Playa Honda and a HiperDino supermarket in Deiland shopping centre there too, where you can buy teabags and milk etc. Really loved this hotel, and hopefully will return one day.

The Hotel Villa Vic, Arrecife, lanzarote is a small boutique hotel with about 14 rooms. We were half board and took lunch on 5 of the 6 days there. It is very well appointed and delightfully presented. It is dramatically understaffed and our stay was marked by moments of chaos and high farce with the guests helping to clear up and sort things our for themselves. Janet, my wife has a lactose intolerance. The menu is restricted and she found dinner on the first night difficult. Next morning we asked Abdul, the sole member of staff if her intolerance could be accommodated, he said yes and would inform the chef, he didn't and dinner that night and subsequent nights was a matter of giving her a meal with the lactose component extracted. Very few people were eating at night so a different sauce for her should have not been a problem. Wednesday and Thursday breakfasts were utterly chaotic, the young lady could not cope on her own with greeting new arrivals, waiting on tables, cleaning up, coffee, and forgetting peoples' orders. On Thursday we started breakfast at 8.45 am and at 10.30 Janet was told the coffee machine had broken - I had given up as had a zoom call. In a nutshell, this place is somewhere between the white lotus and faulty towers. Clearly, one person could not cope with the differing demands of so many guests. I have to say that I could add other points to this but the above serves to give a good picture.

Lovely hotel in quiet location, but as mentioned by other reviews the lack of service really lets this hotel down. How management can expect one member of staff to take breakfast order, make the tea and coffee, squeeze the orange juice, deal with check ins and check outs and any other guest enquiries in a full hotel with all 14 plus tables is ridiculous. We have only had one relaxing and enjoyable breakfast since being here. I can’t fault the staff, they are friendly, polite and accommodating. There is no one to speak to, hence having to write this review. If there are difficulties in obtaining staff, I think it entirely reasonable that the hotel should not be fully booked or perhaps kitchen staff could do more when breakfast is at its busiest.

Lovely hotel a real gem away from the crowds, in reality you need a taxi to get anywhere. Pool area and rooms are really nice and clean. (I like clean ) The bed in our room was lumpy with bits sticking in my back all night but other than that lovely . Food is good dinner choice limited but lovely. One negative was the staffing ! The staff are fantastic however there aren’t many (one) he is bar man - waiter and front desk . During the day we would have to hunt around to find someone to get a drink and normally wait 30mins if he was busy seeing to someone else

The hotel was very under staffed. There appeared to be only 1 member of staff available. That member of staff would be covering the reception, the bar area and the dining area. Found it almost impossible to get any service when needed. On our first night we discovered that there weren’t any sheets on the bed. We tried phoning reception at least 5 times without any answer. I ended up going down to reception and ringing the bell. Nobody answered. Eventually the staff member who was serving dinner came. I explained the situation and the staff member then disappeared to reappear with a couple of sheets for us to fit ourselves. Our room was ok and we had a large terrace with hot tub. Unfortunately the hot tub wasn’t working properly. We didn’t have an evening meal at the hotel but it appeared to be fully booked most evenings. There is a sign in the room advising you not to drink the tap water. However, no bottled water was provided. There was now tea/coffee making facility in the room and due to the under staffing it wasn’t possible to get any room service because the phone was never answered.

A superb little gem tucked away near the beach. Food cooked to order and of the highest quality. Staff were attentive and friendly making our stay a real delight. The only request that I would make its that a seasonal vegetable was added to the main course dish to add colour and a different taste.

This was our second stay at the Villa Vik. Two weeks this time. We love the peace and quiet of the hotel and all the staff are just wonderful. Belfar especially. We stayed half board as we are no longer able to walk 30 mins there and 30 mins back again to the nearest local restaurant. The food at dinner would put us off coming again. We are not fussy people but some of it, especially the fish, was almost inedible. Two weeks and not a vegetable in sight! The restaurant unsurprisingly was very quiet in the evenings. Such a shame . Thankyou to all the staff who are wonderful.
