We had an outstanding experience staying at The Harper for 3 days and will definitely be returning. The staff were all so helpful and friendly. We were so welcome and at ease there. Special mention to Henry who looked after us one evening in Stanley's - a real asset to the team. He gave us tips about where to visit and was an excellent host! Also we have to mention Tom, the recently appointed head chef. His food is exquisite. We ended up returning to the hotel restaurant for a second night following an incredible meal that he and his team of chefs prepared. He even made us a brand new dish he was developing which wasn't on the menu yet (and it was incredible). If you live nearby, you should definitely get over there to try the newly developing menu!! We had great chats with Piers who looks after things overnight and he went above and beyond to make sure we had a lovely stay. The rooms are well appointed with loads of extras (cocktails in the fridge etc). We loved the private spa booking system. It's not difficult to do and you get told when you book your room that you should book the spa slots. We went a couple of times and it was fab to have the whole place to yourself. Don't hesitate to book here.

This is a very special hotel.Stylish , relaxed atmosphere , excellent staff , very comfortable beds. We had 4 nights in a "bigger" room which was perfect for our needs. Full marks for the system of private 30 minute slots in the pool if you book in advance. However...dinner is expensive and cheapest bottle of wine is £30 ! We will be back again next year

Fantastic time had by all. We booked 2 adjoining rooms for the family which was great. Staff were very helpful - housekeepers and waiters alike. Overall we thought the hospitality was wonderful and really welcoming and nothing was too much trouble! The beds are soooo comfortable! We can recommend this hotel fully. Food was excellent, service was second to none. We will be back in the near future.

From the reviews, pictures and steep price tag, I was expecting ‘the best’ from our stay at The Harper. Sadly it did not live up to expectations. Booking a spa hotel - and paying the added premium for The Spa - I was very disappointed to learn that you only get pool/sauna/spa facilities use for 30 mins during your stay. The Spa was also fully booked so we could not book any treatments during our stay, another reason we booked the hotel and we were underwhelmed. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant, the taster menu, which was extremely poor. The courses were bland and (a couple) inedible. We were both hungry at the end of the dinner! Breakfast was totally underwhelming and lean; I had the eggs Benedict which was half a muffin and 1 egg. Not a full portion in my opinion. The hotel itself is very nice and situated in a beautiful part of Norfolk. The staff were all very lovely and helpful!

My husband I have just returned from the most relaxing and enjoyable night away at The Harper. From start to finish, the staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. The whole ambiance of the hotel is rather spa-like and cosy. We absolutely loved our room with all of its individuality and comfort. There were complimentary drinks in the fridge and homemade cookies and popcorn to snack on. Lovely. We spent our evening having dinner in the restaurant, both having the fillet of beef. It was amazing and possibly the best we've ever had! We couldn't fault the food or the service. We then went and relaxed in the bar and thoroughly enjoyed the cocktail menu :) In the morning, we thoroughly enjoyed our slot in the spa, using the pool and the jacuzzi. It was so refreshing and so nice to have it all to ourselves. We could just relax and swim around at our leisure, not worrying about getting in anyone's way. I would be so happy to return to The Harper, it was such a tranquil, relaxing night away that we really needed. Thank you The Harper for taking such great care of us.

We had a short break here this week (just 2 nights) It is a beautiful hotel, very clean, and I loved the decor. Unfortunately we will not be returning and the reason is the restaurant mainly . The menu is very limited - first time I have ever sat in a restaurant and not wanted anything on the menu. The first night the service was hurried and before we had finished our "small plate" not starter ! up came our main course which we weren't ready for. It seems everything is hurried or slow service wise. Also the waiting staff are quite young and I felt inexperienced. We ordered a bottle of water and the water was plonked down right in front of me (where my plate should be) and she walked away! The other problem was the pillows - horrible flat and hard - I have neck problems so no sleep for me for 2 nights. Such a shame .

I quite enjoyed my stay here, BUT A) Only allowing 2 guests in the pool at a time, I was unable to use the pool on 1 of my 3 day stay - not good enough B) Housekeeping - 3 small pieces of silver paper remained on my bedroom floor for the entire 3 day stay - not good enough C) £11 for a dessert - seriously ? I live in London and both The Ivy and the Wolsely ( far superior and on Piccadilly W.1. ) only charge £8.75 for super desserts - sorry - rip off D) Spent my Sunday breakfast surrounded by dirty plates on either side of my table - excuse ? - short staffed - sorry, not my problem and not good enough E) Monday breakfast “ sold out “ of yoghurt and croissants - then go and get more ! Not good enough On the whole an OK stay, with above complaints, Would I stay here again ? Not really good enough

We stayed here in late August expecting a luxurious getaway, but it turned out to be anything but that. Our room overlooked a car park, the beds were uncomfortable, and overall, nothing special—especially considering the steep price tag. Despite the hotel being advertised as "dog friendly," we were greeted by wild dogs off their leads, barking at other guests' dogs, and no proper designated area for dogs to go to the toilet. The service was painfully slow with everything we ordered, and after chatting with other guests, we discovered they had paid half the price we did thanks to a last-minute deal. Apparently, this “luxury” hotel is desperate for bookings and falls far short of delivering the quality it promises. As with most of the reviews we read, we were unable to book the spa or pool, which was one of the main reasons we chose this hotel in the first place. The restaurant menu was limited, with sky-high prices for cold, dry food that took far too long to arrive. We were told the issue was new staff who clearly couldn’t keep up—no surprise, considering it seems like management can’t even retain experienced staff. Overall, this place fell far to shot in expectations. Save your money and go elsewhere

Wow!!! From Start to finish everything was exceptional. A wonder welcome from reception as we arrived with an informative intro about the hotel as well as some suggestions about what to do the area. We were shown to our room and it was absolutely perfect! Lovely treats of homemade cookies and popcorn and some drinks in our fridge! We ate in the restaurant and both food and service were fantastic. My partner had the fillet cooked to perfection and I had the halibut and it was absolutely delicious. For dessert we went for the chocolate and the rum raisin crème brulee and both fabulously delicious. Beds were really comfortable and the bed sheets so soft, we both had the best nights sleep. We had a morning swim which was wonderful to have it all to ourselves for 30mins. Breakfast was really pleasant and tasty, staff so friendly. Thank you Harper for a truly lovely stay, we will be back!
