We had a disappointing stay at the Loisium Hotel Kamptal. There was no AC and we couldn't even open the window enough to cool the room. The hotel was aware of the issue but was unable to find a solution over the weekend. It would have been better if they had informed us about the problem during check-in. Our room for 2 had only one chair and there were no tea and coffee facilities, which are usually standard in a 4* hotel. (Just saying, we did not really need hot drinks). The only positive thing was the friendly waiter at breakfast, Georg. We were sadly not the only ones affected, as our friends and family members also had the same experience, meaning we had a horrible night, in steaming hot rooms …

4-star hotel? Not when compared to the past stays I've enjoyed there! 1) Sunday breakfast was hopelessly overcrowded; 2) Our room had two overlooked - and potentially dangerous - elements: an uncovered electrical outlet and a small, loose, halogen light bulb for the bedside reading lamp on side edge of the bedside table (it could've fallen on the floor and stepped on with bare feet); 3) The air circulation unit sounded like a pump or valve was broken. The intermittent noise woke me at during the nights until I opened the window to shut it off. The reception brushed off the noise as "that's the air circulation unit", implying that it was normal. I received no response to an email from the hotel concerning these problems.

Great hotel for wine and design lovers. You can find here also well equiped fitness, nice spa with GruVe lounge and bar. I fell in love with the heated pool where you can swim and watch the vineyards. In a restaurant, you can taste a lot of great wines by glass. The staff is very nice and helpful even at 11pm. Hotel room is a top design but very confotable. Bio products Saint Charles in a bathroom were a nice surprise. Must visit is the opposite Wine museum where you can explore its great architecture, wine production and of course taste and buy the wines you like.

We were really impressed with how close the hotel is to the vineyards, our deck chairs were right next to them. Pros: Our room was large The service was great The spa was lovely, with a number of saunas of varying degrees The breakfast had a huge variety, much better than my high-end hotel in Vienna Cocktails were top notch The self-guided tour with an audio guide of the cellars is great for those new to wine / sparkling wine process The electric bikes are great, though somewhat expensive. We only had it for half a day but paid a full-day rate. Cons: It wasnt easy to find wine tasting close by. We tried a few other vineyards and they weren't open. We needed more than 2 nights to really enjoy the hotel's facilities and explore the area without coming back home exhausted. If you are travelling via public transport, be sure to note which trains are local or private, as your train ticket is not valid across the network. In all, it was a really lovely experience. We'd highly recommend it.

I strongly recommend staying at the Loisium when in the area. I was amazed by the modern architecture of the building and the classy interior design: be it the lighting in hallways, the glass-elevators or the design of the spa. This hotel gives you a very natural feel and makes it seem it was always there in between the vineyards... I want to highlight the quality of the food! The breakfast buffet quality was beyond everything I have ever had in a hotel. The selection of charcuterie was the finest, sliced so thin it would melt in your mouth. The apricot cake was the best! Homemade jam... I mean everything was so high quality, I could have spent hours eating. So was the dinner! Considering the quality of the food, the prices are more than reasonable and the staff is super friendly and well trained. Their knowledge wines is impressive! I also enjoyed the spa and even prolonged the spa experience on the check out day until 18:00hrs for only 15 EUR. No question I was gonna do that! The gym also offers everything one could need if they really HAD to work out :-) I highly recommend this place and I am definitely coming back for a week-end getaway real soon! Thank you!!!

Fantastic hotel, staff very friendly and go out of their way to help. Rooms are new and modern with a touch of class I would associate with high end hotels. Hotel facilities are amazing, outdoor pool and wellness and everything you need to have a super relaxing stay. The surroundings are also stunning set on the edge of some really beautiful scenery with vineyards to enjoy. The food is also top class, compliments to the chef for some delicious dishes. The lady at the bar make the best drinks, which she mixes creatively. The breakfast at the hotel is really excellent.Thank you for wonderful stay! We will be back!

To call this Hotel a Spa, is a farce. It has two small pools outside only, neither heated so useless in the cold weather. The sauna room is very small when you consider no one wants to swim and everyone queues to use the sauna. Hardly quiet and peaceful. The coffee shop next to sauna was closed due to lack of staff. In the evening the restaurant was a 3rd full and we were refused a table because they were 'fully booked'. We found out later that the truth was a lack of staff. So bar food was all that was offered, burger and fries or a cheese and ham toasted sandwich. A spa ???? Really???. 300 euro a night is very over priced for a hotel whose amenities are no better than a three star hotel. The icing on the cake? We could not have a printed receipt because they had no ink in their printer!!! This is a 300 euro a night hotel!!! You can pay half of that for a hotel in Vienna and get much better service and much better relaxation. Never again for us. There are so many choices in Austria for real Spa hotels that are much more affordable, so I have no idea why anyone would choose to stay here.

Overall the stay was fine but there were a few things that really made the experience less than great and wasn't a four star hotel in my opinion. First off, the rooms are nice but as many people have stated the air conditioning doesn't cool the rooms, so around 9am the room is boiling. I really wanted to sleep in, but was hard when you wake up in a puddle of sweat. There wasn't a phone in the room, so anytime you wanted to make a request for something you'd have to go downstairs or call them, which was strange. Finally, there wasn't hair conditioner in the bathroom and when I called to tell them they said "You can go buy some". So I went to the drug store and bought conditioner for a one time use, which was unnecessary and just not right for a 4 star hotel. I've stayed in hotels all around the world, and providing guests conditioner is a basic level amenity. The breakfast was probably my favorite thing about the hotel. I loved how Austrians drink wine during breakfast while on holiday! But at dinner when we asked the staff questions about the menu and basic wine questions, no one had any clue. At the restaurant the staff was all super nice and very young so it wasn't their fault, I didn't know anything about wine when I was 17 either. I just found it very off putting that a so-called wine restaurant doesn't have one person on staff that can answer basic level questions about the wine list. We also asked a question about an appetizer that was confusing in English and received three different responses including one girl who said "I don't know" and walked away without offering to find out. All around really sweet kids but really clueless when it comes to what they're serving. Finally we ended our stay with a pool & spa day. The pool & spa are both beautiful- I could see coming back here just to spend a spa/pool day. We both had a massage, which was relaxing and okay. However, a week later they reach out to my boyfriend stating that only one of the massages was included in the bill and that he had to give his credit card information. I understand that mistakes are made but that's a pretty big mistake to make and very unprofessional. I really wanted to like this place but every 5 minutes there was another unfortunate thing that kept popping up. All in all, I felt that it wasn't worth it for the price.

The whole experience was very pleasant. The staff speaks English and is very attentive. The hotel is clean and the spa is well equipped. The loisium building with wine tasting tour and wine shop is literally next door. The hotel is situated in the vineyards and yet close to the town. It is not defined as adult only, but the hotel being a wine resort probably dissuades the families with children so there is peace and quiet. I believe we will happily come again.
