Ibis Genève Petit Lancy

Pleasantly surprised by the convenient location and friendly service. Basic room, but clean and spacious enough for a solo traveller. Convenient location for public transport links to airport and city centre.

For my first ever Geneva trip, I was looking for something within budget and I think I may have been drawn to this hotel's name as such ! The location regards the city centre and transport links are outstanding and there is a nearby Migros supermarket plus a shopping centre. UberEats do deliver to the hotel too. The hotel sent me my digital Geneva Travel Card for free public transport, 24 hours before I arrived. I would recommend to keep a printed copy in case internet access fails. Myself and my Brothers arrived on the day of my Birthday and were warmly welcomed by Florian and Tarek and offered welcome/birthday juices. This was a really nice touch. Upon entering the room, Manager Lise had arranged a beautiful birthday suprise in my room as you will see in the photos and also slippers ! And I was really touched by the improvised image of the Jet D'Eau fountain in the window - talk about a room with a "view" The staff are exceptionally friendly and very warm and caring towards all guests. Secure luggage storage is available. Please note that due to a local law, tilt and turn window handles are removed but are available from reception if you need to open the window in the summer. Portable fans are also available - be warned if you have a room facing the trees in the back, insects will come to greet you in your room as there is no netting on the window. Spacious Washrooms are available on the -1 floor near reception, as the toilets in the rooms are tiny. The rooms themselves are very very compact and if space is important to you, then this probably is not the right accomodation for you. I would return but to the Ibis part of the hotel.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel from the 27/09/24 for 3 nights at a cost of £252.20/279 CHF. We both have previously stayed in ibis hotel chains in the UK. The location of the hotel is slightly outside of central Geneva, however the public transport made links to and from the airport (via no.23 bus) and to and from central Geneva (tram 14) completely hassle-free. This is especially true given public transport was free for the duration of our stay. The room was simple and basic, which was expected. However, it did lack a few standard amenities such as a kettle or iron and ironing board, which would have been nice and something other hotel chains offer with their standard rooms. The room was also very clean and comfortable, with the daily cleaning service doing a great job. However again the slight negative was the inability to open the window, leaving the room feeling stuffy overnight and the AC not doing a great job at keeping the room cool. The front of house staff were excellent, assisting when we locked both our cars keys in the room (doh!) and when my 6-month pregnant wife needed an extra pillow. Nothing seemed too much, and they were always happy and helpful. Overall, we would definitely stay here again, as it enabled us to visit Geneva on a budget and this hotel provided us with what we needed.

The hotel is nice and located in a quiet suburb of Geneva. The room was small but well appointed and breakfast was great! The only thing that the hotel needs a major improvement with is the cleaning of bathrooms. We stayed for three days and the bathroom was never properly cleaned. I would not stay at this hotel again on account of this.

The hotel is well located in that you can conveniently access the bus stop to the airport [literally 20m from the front door] and 100m to the tram station that takes you into the city. For vehicles, it is quite a round about journey to get to the entrance of the hotel. Upon entering, you will see the Check-In. The Check-in staff was friendly and the process was easy. Next to the Check in counter there is a bar with comfortable seating The bar closes around 12 in the evening. We were on 1st floor. The rooms are very simple. Our room was clean except for the dirt on the roof of the shower. Soft mattress and only 2 pillows meant it was not a comfortable sleep. The amenities include a box type shower, tv [very few English selection channels on the TV], aircon [adjustable], phone and body washing soap as well as 2 towels. There is space to hang clothes and a bookshelf to pack away your clothes. The floors are not carpeted. The room felt like a student dorm. The hotel was not noisy and we did not hear any traffic noise or even noise emanating from other room such as toilets flushing or doors slamming etc . We did not have breakfast or food in the hotel.
