Rooms at the Apple Pie

It has been a couple of years since our last stay, it was great to return and see standards just as good as our previous stays. There are now additional car parking spaces made available a short walk away, which is very welcome. Our room was at the front, it’s cosy and has everything you would need. Very comfortable bed, nice decor, small but ample storage spaces and carefully designed bathroom to maximise space. They have an honesty facility in the foyer and a small fridge for guests to use. Whilst absolutely not any fault of the staff, I was very disappointed to see that a can of G&T had gone astray……it was clearly labelled with our room number. Some people have no shame. We really enjoyed our stay, great location and comfortable room. Highly recommended.

We got a late deal on the loft room at The Apple Pie. The location is ideal for exploring Ambleside and our room overlooked the famous bridge house. Our room was lovely with a comfy bed, smart TV and a fridge. The bathroom had a good shower (albeit over a bath) and great views from the windows. We had a lovely weekend here and would recommend this venue.

We had a fab stay here recently whilst my husband was taking part in an Ultramarathon around Windermere (!). The location is perfect for the centre of Ambleside, with the fabulous bakery & cafe next door. The car park outside the front of the property was full but there was a big public carpark very close by so parking was no problem at all. The room was just what we needed, clean and had a very comfy bed! The tea and coffee making facilities were great - with filter coffee available and an added surprise of some of the delicious Gingerbread from the bakery! The staff were lovely and so helpful. We're looking forward to returning to this hotel....for a more relaxing break next time!

I stayed here in room 2 for two nights while on business. The welcome was friendly with a late check-in self-service option for those that might need it. The property is maintained to a high standard, with comfortable bed, quality furnishings and a clean modern en-suite. Breakfast is not included, but guests receive a 10% discount off at the Apple Pie Cafe next door. I am due to stay again in a weeks time, and I am looking forward to it.

Lovely place but stay spoilt by poor communication Checked in then told receptionist we were going out to watch the football Came back to letter under door asking car to be moved by 8 am the following am We had had a couple of drinks so not able to move the vehicle that night Partner very particular re driving as its his job morning after so my birthday meal out was spoilt as he knew he would have to be up early to move his car Had we been able to check out at 10 am he could have had a couple of wines and relaxed Message was sent before 3 pm so not sure why they didnt email or ring so car could have been moved before we went out Spoilt what should have been my birthday meal Email sent but no reply to say how disappointed we were but no reply Told the receptionist as we left apologised but that was it and then said resurfacing was cancelled anyway I give up

We stayed in the loft at the apple pie .( Separate to the hotel , and above their bakery ) . It was room 34 , up a couple of flights of stairs. We had 3 nights in this stunning location. Our room view was of the fells in the background and the famous little house over the river by some courtyard eating areas just below us . The huge window and a couple of well placed chairs made for the perfect place to sit and relax . You purchased breakfast in their cafe ( discount with room key ) . What a stunning plate of food . I can't wait to return .
