What a splendid old inn! Its 1920s Adirondack decor and flair really are special. The public rooms are woody and yet light-filled, with sitting spaces, antiques, old books, and beautiful views. Guest rooms are well furnished, understatedly elegant, and scrupulously clean. Breakfasts are delicious, and coffee, tea, and cookies are always available. In addition, the staff are as pleasant and helpful as they come, all of them. It's a welcoming, comfortable place. I should add that it has lots of amenities that I didn't have time to explore, but certainly will the next time I stay. Reading some of the negative reviews astounded me. If guests want brand-new, corporate-style sleek interiors, the Inn at Mirror Lake is not for them; but then, for me, and for the bulk of visitors, this well-established, immaculate lodge is exactly the thing.
