This place is amazing! We got a stand alone house with our own private pool and hot tub… screened in! It was amazing! The house had every single amenity and then some. As clean as my house at home it was amazing! Hurricane Ian blew in and we lost the last three days of activities but being at the house at the summer bay resort we felt safe and secure. The resort call to check on us it was just amazing! We can’t wait to come back and book the house again this time it will be for two weeks. Thank yoy summer bay for the memories!

I stayed at this wonderful place for the first time in April 2022 for my birthday then again in October during hurricane Ian. No damage or problems here but the airports have closed. I had to extend my stay and the staff here consistently go over & above. Sydney, Jana and Anna are absolute gems. I hope the owner knows what they have in these women. During my stay in April Anna brought a very important package (medication) sent to me. I would’ve checked at the front desk but she brought it to me while I was at the pool. My parents live in the area & this is my go-to place to stay when I visit them. Even though they live in the area, they now use this place as a getaway. 5 stars but only if I’m being picky, a bigger tv in the room would be nice and a mirror somewhere other than the bathroom. I can’t wait to come back. Awesome place & A1 staff.
Lakeside Inn on Lake Dora

Beautiful, old hotel right on the lake in Mount Dora. She was showing her age but her charm made up for it. I was looking forward to the pool, unfortunately the water was the same temp at the air. Hot. 🥵 not refreshing at all. It looks like they have started a pier renovation/ improvement, but they seemed to have stopped mid way through, such a shame as it looks like it will be lovely when/if finished. It's within walking distance to everything in town so that is also nice. Despite the bathroom door not having any hardware, the water barely trickled out of the sink and the creaky bed, I would still stay here again

There is a massive $30 per day ( including the day you leave??) Resort Fee that is not worth it at all. In addition, when I was booking my hotel at first, and called them to question what the additional fee was, they said it was a deposit. It wasn't! When we called them after, they were rude and hung up on us. The booking site did their best to refund me as well, since the prices mismatched. The fee is not worth it though, there is nothing resort like if you're staying at the Express Inn. They are your typical motel, but worse as: - They continuously call and bother and trick you about going to a scam of a timeshare. Even when I had expressed no several times, they woke me up with a call. - Offer no services that warrant it ( my room never got cleaned? ) - They wouldn't even hold your luggage at the front desk. - You couldn't close the curtains ? - Half the plugs are straight up BROKEN! - No snack vending machines, because they want you to order their overpriced food. - Small TV / No Safe / Terrible free Wifi / 'Aracde' is 3 prize-grab type games with very outdated prizes / Gym was 2 machines in a very tight small room The clubhouse is nothing special, it is a pool with attached overpriced bar, and cafe I guess? It is a very large walk away from where the Express hotels are, that it shouldn't really count. I do not recommend it if you're disabled like me, and hoped to not drive on a holiday away. Not that it's worth even going there, it doesn't offer much else. There are the daily events, but you'll probably find nothing interesting to do, or have to pay even more. Some good: +The rooms were very spacious, and had connected rooms? +They have free mini-golf, the course is lame and boring, but could be fine +Breakfast was missing waffles, but was decent and even had sausage croissant sandwiches, which is rare for free breakfasts to offer any sort of meat. + Incredibly close to other stores + They do have a lake where you can rent vehicles, so you can't swim in it. + Well maintained grounds & lovely wildlife Overall though, spend the extra 30 a day you'd pay in resort fees and get somewhere good, or somewhere reliable. It completely ruined the last few days of my holiday.
