We traveled here for family reasons the rooms were clean & food good. The welcoming wasn’t the best but thought a one off. The waitress was so helpful & again the lady in the morning for breakfast. However we went out for a walk then couldn’t get back in to change to go out. After going round the back we found a door open that went through the kitchen. Yes it wasn’t ideal but only way we could get back in …. The cleaning lady was so rude & it was like being back at school not what you expected to be spoken to as a guest. Then when we came to go back out we found that she had locked us in!!! Ridiculous behaviour & so we then had to go through a fire door to get out as no one came to answer our calls. It was a shame as the hotel owners apologised but it left a bad taste as can imagine. Would we return no ….

After a long cycle ride the comfort of this hotel was very much appreciated. The food was excellent as too was the room. Lairg itself was a pleasant place for an evenings stroll. All in all whatever finds you in Lairg this hotel is well worth a stay.

We booked the Lairg Highland Hotel while travelling up through Scotland and it turned out to be the perfect stop. The staff in the hotel were very friendly and helpful and we had a nice chat too. The room was clean and comfortable and had tea and coffee making facilities too. The hotel and the whole area was very quiet. The cooked breakfast was great, tasty and a delicious breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again.

Dropped in for morning tea and served by delightfully polite smiling staff. Coffee was brewed and very good. Shortbread was very Scottish and tasty. Shame about the scones (plain and fruit) which were at least a day old. Toilets downstairs were spotless and well appointed. Restaurant seating area up a few stairs was a little cramped but well lit with natural light and very clean. Those with mobility issues might struggle a bit. Not much happening in the village and many For Sale signs were on display as we walked about. Nice little stop on our tour. Thank you hosts!

A nice enough hotel. The room with on suite was just OK. The breakfast was not very nice, just 1 egg, 1 piece of bacon, 1 sausage all of which were coated in frying fat, and the driest toast I've ever had. No juice, beans etc. We also had dinner and that was basic, but we new this would be the case. Given that we spent £120 for a 1 night stay in a bnb in Ullapool, the same as we spent for this hotel, we feel that this place is way way over priced and we wished we had stayed somewhere else. Also it didn't help that either a guest of employee was smoking ***** wright under our window.

I want to preface this by saying we never expected how good this was! We went off season and were glad to find a place to eat. We sat in the bar for a couple hours, waiting for the restaurant to open. The Barman, whose name we can’t believe we never asked, was perfect. Light chatter and best service! They had a nice selection of whisky and we drank several! When it was time for dinner, I got the venison and my husband got the fish. WOW! We've been so blown away by the change in the way food is prepared..here and now! The vegetables were incredible and done perfectly. The venison tasted almost like a perfect, prime rib with just a hint of the woods! We asked to thank the chef and he was embarrassed, I think, but we don’t do that at all..this was just one of those times we had to. The sad part is, the machine to pay wouldn’t let us tip, so we needed up getting their address and sending it to the hotel. We hope they received it! We didn’t stay in the hotel, we booked the Newsagents flat on Travelocity and it was lovely too. One block away from the hotel. Although the place is aged, it really was incredible and we’ve eaten all over the world! I think Scotland is finally realizing just how incredible they are! I’m married to a Brit, but my hearts here! Thanks again!

Stayed here one night on a cycling trip across Scotland. Very quiet hotel in Lairg and they were able to store my bicycle in a shed behind the property. I had a single room which was cozy and comfortable. There is a small bar on the main level, along with a very nice dining room. The food (dinner and breakfast) and drink were excellent. Staff was very friendly and helpful during my stay. Altogether a very nice, affordable hotel that I would recommend.

What a nice little place. Don't take any notice of the outside appearance. We had a very pleasant stay here. Very nice clean bedroom and en-suite, very warm welcome. We had a very nice meal in the restaurant, nothing fancy just good pub grub.
