Relais Villa Vittoria

Warning: Avoid Relais Villa Vittoria at Lake Como. Our stay was a nightmare—worn-out, dirty rooms with mouldy toilets and insects crawling on the floor and near the bed. After complaining, we were moved to another room that was worse, with bed bugs on the wall. The hygiene issues were shocking, and the staff’s attitude was dismissive, refusing any refund. We changed hotel immediately the same night. Their social media paints a false picture of luxury, but the reality is far from it. Don’t fall for this scam—save yourself the trouble and book elsewhere.

Our daughter and son-in-law chose Relais Villa Vittoria for their wedding, to accommodate family and friends from multiple continents! We had the entire villa to ourselves for the weekend! My daughter could not have picked a more perfect setting for an intimate wedding to celebrate with family and friends! The views were amazing, the rooms comfortable, the hosts and staff were friendly and accommodating and the food and wine was excellent!

This is an absolutely stunning property! My wife and I have stayed here a few times and it only gets better. The views (WOW), the infinity pool! the curated landscaping, the ambient music, the restoration of this 18th century structure...... all magnificent. Lovely staff, excellent breakfast, parking is a 4 minute walk from the property but hey, you can't have it all right! If you see some scuffs and or cracks remember that properties like these are very old and must be addressed by qualified people. Plus it only adds to the character and charm of the place. I'm embarrassed to read some of the negative comments by fellow American travelers and in some cases self proclaimed seasoned travelers. (Well travelled folks don't ever mention that by the way) American's tend to be a little entitled because we come from a service driven system and many forget that Europe beats to a different drum. Italy respects its laws, its climate and its environment. They respect their history and restore properties like this in the formal and correct ways. Then we come and open up our hidden Kevins and Karens as if because we pay for something, it's okay to speak to folks with demanding authority. I've witnessed this kind of behavior time and time again and each time a growing embarrassment for my kind. People who don't know how to travel should stay at home or start to learn to be a true traveler. Always expect the un expected. Nothing ever goes as planned so roll with the punches. To the staff, Keep on doing what you've been doing. You are what makes Villa Vittoria what it is. To the owner, you have crafted a beautiful dreamy place, Bravo! and everyone has their moments, I would too if an angry traveller is yelling at me without knowing the local norms. Travelers should understand where they are and take the time to try and learn a little bit of the local language to avoid misunderstandings. At the very least use a translation app. Anyway , back to the property's review. Villa Vittoria is situated in a great location, easy to find, easy to access touristic destinations and from the lake via private boat service as well. We've had boats pick us up on its' dock out back for day tours of the nearby villages/towns. The living spaces in this property are beautiful, the architectural lighting in the evening are perfect. The Villa is great for a romantic get away or if you're just passing through, in either case, It's just perfect.

The location and view are absolutely stunning, but the lasagna and filetto were disappointing. The quality of the dishes was poor, and the bill was too high for what was served. I suggest they focus more on improving the food quality to match the beautiful setting.

On the banks of the most charming of Italian lakes, a boutique hotel full of charm where time stands still suspended above the waves. The staff are welcoming, friendly and efficient and the rooms are very pleasant and well decorated, some with a balcony overlooking the water. And don't forget the excellent surprise of the restaurant, where the cuisine matches the beautiful terrace (excellent parmigiana, among other dishes). Please note: the car park is small and a little further away.

We have just got back from our wedding weekend at the villa and all I can say is thank you. It truly was the wedding of our dreams and more. We had a pizza dinner on the Friday, the food was great and the table set up lovely. We went for the buffet style and had drinks served out of the outside bar. For the wedding day on the Saturday, we had 48 people with one long table for dinner. The staff could not have been more lovely, from Laura who helped us co-ordinate everything to Claudio who was an absolute dream serving drinks and generally being amazing. To the head waiter, to the head chef and all the other staff at breakfast, reception, cleaning staff genuinely could not have been more accommodating. The rooms were just lovely. Clean and spacious and checkin was smooth (I was a little worried about this beforehand as lots of people turning up at once). They were so organised and had the list printed of where all our guests were staying. The table set up for the wedding day was stunning and the staff made sure everything was perfect & organised all of ceremony seating. The villa itself is just beautiful, the restaurant food is outstanding. All I can say is thank you so very much for making our weekend so special. We will for sure be back!
