SpringHill Suites Lafayette South at River Ranch

The entire staff had friendly, professional, disposition. My room was clean with enough towels. The bed and pillows were quite comfortable The breakfast bar was very nice, there was a wide variety of items to choose from. Covid-19 intructions were displayed to remind guests to practice social distancing. I would return to this hotel and recommend it to others.
Quality Inn & Suites Lafayette

This place has no business being open for business in its current condition, we booked last minuet on Priceline and was given what we thought was a very reasonable rate at $59.95 plus tax. Upon arrival we were greeted by a very friendly young woman at the front desk who immediately began apologizing for the condition of the hotel which is never a good sign saying it was currently under ”heavy renovation” (whatever that means), then went on to say that they were also having employee issues with their housekeeping crew so she was not sure yet which rooms had been cleaned. Looking back with 20/20 hindsight we should have simply cut our losses and sought shelter elsewhere but after driving all day we were tired & hungry, and just wanted a place to hang our hats for the night. The first room we were given had an extremely strong mildew smell that nearly knocked us over, the second room we were given key's to had been completely gutted as in no beds, no carpet, no TV, no fridge, etc. etc. just 4 bare walls and a floor and the 3rd room while it did have beds, a fridge, working TV, and a furnished bathroom, it had no clock, no phone, no microwave, & no coffee pot, just the most basic bare necessities and nothing more. There were no restaurants in the immediate area plus the hotel is in a rather sketchy neighborhood, so much so that the Uber driver we hired to take us to a decent restaurant for dinner told us to be sure and be back before nightfall as most Uber drivers will not go to that neighborhood after dark! Best to just steer clear of this trainwreck altogether, virtually anything would be a better option.

This was obviously an older hotel that Wyndham purchased and upgrades were implemented for the most part. We enjoyed that you could park at your door unlike the usual hotels. Check in/out was fast. There was a breakfast. I just wish there were fruit and yogurt options instead of most carbs. But that's just me. It was all great!
Residence Inn Lafayette Airport

I will try to be as unbiased as possible. It was only 5 days ago that I was in a newly constructed Residence Inn in a major city. Overall, Residence Inn Lafayette Airport was a really good stay. Pros: This place is extremely clean. The cleaning staff goes out of their way to make sure this place is clean from top to bottom. It has that fresh, clean aroma all throughout the property. The entire room was spotless upon arrival. Additionally, the front desk staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. They are very quick to respond to messages sent via the chat function in the Bonvoy app. I regret not getting the name of the agent that checked us in, but she was extremely helpful in suggesting local cuisine. Feezo's is now my new favorite restaurant for chargrilled oysters. Cons: The rooms are really dated and shows plenty of wear and tear. More specifically, the mattress was in pretty bad shape. It had hills and valleys from head to toe and was NOT comfortable. I'm almost certain it's an original mattress from the opening of the property. Same goes for the couch. It was NOT comfortable at all. The pillows and cushions were in very bad shape. Mind you, these items were very clean, but old and worn out. The tv's are also dated. They are really small, probably Gen1 plasma, 24 inches. The channel lineup was impressive, however. I haven't seen that many channels in a hotel in a while. In conclusion, it was a good stay. I was more impressed with the cleanliness than the actual room. Breakfast was ok... food was good, but there was no cheese at all. I haven't decided if I will stay here again in the future as I am accustomed to a more updated hotel atmosphere.
Fairfield Inn & Suites Lafayette South

As frequent visitors to Lafayette, we've decided this is our favorite place to stay. We strayed for one visit and man do we regret it! Side note: never stay at the La Quinta Oil Center down the street! The front desk people are very helpful and nice. The cleaning people are as well. We like the fact that you can run the a/c fan to drown out inevitable hotel noises. The beds are comfortable and everything was very clean. There are a lot of places to eat close by, including a Chilis and Outback Steakhouse in the same parking lot if you are too tired to do anything else like we were a couple of times. We have nothing bad to say.
