The cottage was ideally situated -away from the dusty road and in amongst indigenous bush with an uninterrupted view of the Red Hill. Bonus was that we saw the Booted Eagle and its juvenile up there . Also saw the Klipspringer (Buck) on the skyline. I would highlyrecommend this stay for anyone who is interested in South African fauna,flora and geology.

Enon Cottage is in a lovely location with beautiful views of the red stone hills around. The cottage is cozy and has everything you need. It was very hot while we were there so the ACs in the bedrooms was a huge bonus.

This place is incredible. The cottages are far enough apart to be completely private, and have everything you need, including aircon and DSTV. The setting is magnificent, with the dramatic red hills living up to their name, especially in soft morning and evening light. Not glamorous, or flashy, this place is quiet and tranquil, a place where time moves slowly. Its easy to find along R62, but far enough from the closest town to make it feel rural and completely peaceful! If its peace and quiet you are after, I would recommend this as a destination in its own right.

I've stayed at Red Stone Hills several times in the past 15 years, and always enjoyed it. Returning now, my sense was that a lot of effort has been made to improve the offering, and that standards are improved. We had booked for Ostrich as there were only two of us, but were upgraded to Red Rock. Wonderful reception but the owner, and came to check on us later although we were out walking. The house had everything we needed, and firewood was available, although we had forgotten fire-lighters, so we were given some complimentary firelighters. We really wanted for nothing, the new solar electricity and inverter worked a treat. I would recommend Red Stone Hills to anyone anting self-catering in the Calitzdorp area.

We stayed in one of the original cottages on the farm. The original features beautifully preserved. There was plenty of space & beds comfortable. We opted for 2 dinner meals & a breakfast & they were all tasty & had plenty to eat. The farm is so beautiful with those red stones of different shapes & sizes, especially early in the morning. We explored as much as we could & drove a circular route through Kruis Rivier, past the Cango Caves to Oudthoorn & back. We found hidden valleys with the Poplar trees leaves all turning yellow. So beautiful.
