Very enjoyable week’s stay at this hotel. Room exceptionally clean, housekeeping attended every day. Cannot echo what others are saying about the noise, we all slept very well. We were however, on the side of the hotel that looks out into the car park rather than the square so perhaps we were lucky. I can understand that the buffet/chaos of the restaurant might not be to everyone’s taste but I do not have any complaints about the food - always a great selection on offer & plenty of choice for my toddler. Staff in the restaurant were great with my wee one and made a lot of fuss over him, always coming over to say hello. Hotel is in a great location - less than 5 minutes from the gondola and 2 other chair lifts; less than 5 minutes from the supermarket, bars, cafes.

We booked a family room, which turned out to be two adjoining twin/double rooms (*** and 537) which was perfect for our family of 4. The location was excellent, with our rooms directly overlooking two chairlifts, the main gondola, and the base of the black World Cup downhill run. However, noise was an issue at night. Our rooms faced the main square, and the bar on the corner played loud music until around midnight. On one night, there was significant drunken shouting in the early hours. I’d strongly recommend bringing earplugs if you’re a light sleeper. The beds were firm but comfortable. The room had a controllable heater, which was great for drying gloves, though it could get quite warm at times. Having a balcony area was also a nice touch. The boot room was spacious but only had one heater, so we ended up taking our boots to the room for drying, which worked much better. The lifts were a bit outdated and could be slow. And strangely the sign for the floors in the lift was upside down, which took a little getting used it. We stayed on a bed-and-breakfast basis and were assigned the same table each morning in the large dining hall. The breakfast buffet had a good variety, including fried eggs, scrambled eggs, streaky bacon, German sausage, yoghurts, salads, cereals, and a selection of hams and cheeses. The highlight was definitely the pastries—both the croissants and doughnuts were excellent. There was also a station for toasties and pancakes, along with self-service coffee and juice. A barista was available for fresh coffee, though one of them was particularly grumpy! We paid extra for the buffet dinner on two occasions and found the food to be good, with a nice selection of dishes that changed each time. Plenty of pasta, cooked meats and salads. Overall, the hotel staff were friendly, aside from the aforementioned grumpy barista. The location is perfect for accessing the slopes, with a few nearby restaurants, a pub, and a hotel bar. There’s enough variety for a week, though any longer and you’d likely be revisiting the same places. The town is a 10-minute walk away and offers a small selection of shops, bars, and a great steakhouse. We didn’t get a chance to try the swimming pool so can’t comment on that. Would I stay here again? Possibly—but I’d definitely pack earplugs!

The hotel facilities were great, two bed apartment was perfect for a family of 5, included a large balcony to store our skis. The apartment was spacious, and could not have been closer to the three main lifts and the nursery slopes. Would happily go back. The only advice I would give is try to fly to an airport that minimises the transfer time, Pisa required an over 5 hour drive to and from the resort.

We stayed in an apartment with kids and the location is great literally at the bottom of the ski lifts. Apartment was small but clean and had everything we needed BUT we overlooked the apres ski bar that played thumping music till 10pm and even with the windows shut there was no way the kids could sleep. Enquire about the location of your room / apartment if travelling with kids that need an earlier bedtime!

We have had a wonderful stay at TH La Thuile Planibel! Lovely hotel, great staff, amazing spa & swimming pool. This was our first ski holiday as a family and the hotel had everything we needed. We stayed in the hotel (instead of the residences) on a B&B basis. We booked lessons with the Italian ski school direct instead of with a tour operator eg crystal ski. Here are a few tips from me which I wish I had known at the beginning and will hopefully help future visitors: - The ski lifts and gondola are from the base of the hotel so very convenient. The ski school is from the base (there is also one at the top) so good for beginners. You can pick up ski rental and lift passes at the base too. Day 1 is hectic so be prepared to queue a bit. Remember you need your height, weight and shoe size for ski rental. - The hotel room we had was clean, modern and warm. Lots of great storage space. - The hotel have ski lockers at the -1 level. You pay a small deposit for each locker which you get back when you give keys back. There is a lift to ground level but it gets busy so be prepared to walk up with ski gear but it’s fine once you get used to it. We took our skis up before breakfast which is a much quieter time if you prefer to avoid rush. - The hotel has a kids club where you can drop your kids at 8:30am with their ski gear. The kids club then take them to their kids ski group lessons which started for us at 10am. This means you can join the adult group lessons (which start at 9am). The kids club in the afternoon do arts and crafts which was great if you want to ski without kids in the afternoon. The kids club was no extra charge for us and my daughter really enjoyed it. - The swimming pool and spa are amazing. There is a large pool and also a kids smaller pool. Both were warm. You need a swim hat (which you can buy at reception). They don’t provide towels so bring your own or rent one from spa reception. You need to pre book swim and spa sessions which you can do on the TH app. They give you access on check in. The spa has menthol steam room, sauna etc, all very clean and nicely maintained. - There are lots of lovely restaurants in La Thuile but in busy times it’s necessary to book tables in advance. Contact the restaurants direct. - There is a nice causal bar area in the hotel for chill out time. Bring cards/games. They have live music. - If you are staying in the residences, the spa and swimming is at an extra charge. Not sure about kids club. There is a butcher and supermarket at the base where you can get food to make in your apartment. I saw a few comments about the lifts. Yes they are a bit old but they do work fine so just allow a bit of time at busy times. As with any hotel, it can take a bit of time to get bearings but it’s all very logical. Overall, I think the hotel was very well set up for family ski. We will be back!

We stayed for one night only in the residence, which is ideally located and overall excellent. The appartments had modern furnishings and were very warm. There was a little dust and cleaning of the toilets could have been a little better to reach perfection, but we passed on comments to the management to hopefully take on board. We would definitely recommend for location, and overall experience. I'm not marking as excellent for the little improvements that can be made, and also we waited a little time to be dealt with upon arrival, which was in the evening so reception was not very busy, however the staff were very friendly.
