Three of us went to have lunch in the restaurant at La Porte Saint-Jean hotel. The restaurant was extremely busy and our time was limiting as we had a plane to catch at Limoges but we decided to chance it. We explained our situation to the lady in charge who was extremely helpful and suggested what would be best to order given our time constraints. We had a three course meal that was really superb, great value for money, and the lady in charge could not have helped us more.

The hotel is dated, that has to be admitted but it is hard to see how it would be technically possible to bring it up to today’s standards. So it is rather this or nothing and then the choice should be clear. OK there are only stairs and not a lift but the rooms have acceptable furniture. The bathroom could be renovated but it is still OK in its present condition. What makes me to recommend this hotel is its excellent location and really good and cheap restaurant. And of course its staff which is very friendly.

Hotel réservé via booking avec la climatisation (preuve à l'appui sur le papier imprimé de la réservation) . Il n'y en avait pas (comme par hasard disparu en août sur le site) et booking et l'hotel se renvoient la responsabilité il faisait environ 35 degrés dans les chambres miteuses (3 réservées pour trois nuits). Mais il n'y avait pas que ça, une chambre où il n'y avait que de l'eau bouilante pour se doucher, une la fenêtre ne tenait ouverte qu'avec une chaussure pour la coincer sinon elle se refermait et l'autre la fenêtre ne s'ouvrait qu'en oscillo battante. Nous avions une cabine de douche en angle de 60x60 dans laquelle nous rentrions en biais et on ne pouvait plus bouger après (poids 70 kg pour mon mari pour 1m75) le pommeau de douche ne tenait pas....bref nous sommes partis au bout d'une nuit épuisés et avons réussi après de nombreuses parlementations à se faire rembourser une nuit sur trois pour les trois chambres. Personnel peut aimable " il faut s'estimer heureux qu'on ne soit pas dans un hlm sans clim nous ont ils répondu" et responsable fantôme qu'il est impossible de voir ! ps quand on voit les photos des chambres alors qu'elles sont minuscules on hallucine....

En marge du spectacle de la tour de Bridiers, nous avons logé deux nuits dans cet hôtel bien situé en centre "ville" de La Souterraine. Nous n'avons pas mangé dans son restaurant, je n'ai donc pas d'avis sur cette activité. La chambre simple, confortable, propre. Très bon petit déjeuner en libre service. Un bémol personnel : une des deux fenêtres de notre chambre était équipée d'un volet mécanique, l'autre pas. Pas de tenture. Je suis sensible à la lumière du matin et j'aurais apprécié ne pas être réveillé aux aurores. Accueil "à la Française"...

Quand on arrive vers 17h et que l'affiche à l'entrée de l'hôtel indiqué ouverture à 18h30, ça fait long à attendre un jour de pluie. Jamais vu ! Bon il y a un bon café pas loin pour boire un 'Chocolat chaud'

140€ pour chambre familiale avec 3 pdj et un offert. On arrive dans la chambre. Pas de chauffage. Réception tv en berne. Une des lumières de chevet en HS. Les draps sont propres. Salle de bain microscopique. Bref. On ne reviendra pas. Ça fais cher l’arrêt aux stands.
