I have huge concerns with this hotel. 1.) the elevator smells HEAVY like *********. 2.) the room we were put in smelled like mildew and everything was wet-the floor, the couch, the beds.... I went to the front desk to try to get a different room, but as I waited there for 40 minutes while calling, knocking on doors/windows and yelling for someone, my family was completely eaten up by mosquitos. My daughter had about 15 on her back from waiting for just 5 minutes-she and the rest of my family then went to wait in the car it was so bad. When someone finally came back to the front desk, I asked for management name and contact info multiple times before I was given anything, but then was just given the number I had been calling for 40 minutes and the front desk email. I know the hotel has a no refund policy. However this environment was entirely unsafe for my family. We were in the room less than 10 minutes and could not stay due to both the mosquitos and mildew in the room. We had no choice but to find another hotel. I have never had a bad experience at a holiday inn express until now. We ended up at the Comfort inn right next door, which was fine. The staff at Comfort Inn seemed to know what we had just been through when we mentioned coming from the Holiday Inn La Porte. Sad.
