La Casona Hotel Boutique

The hotel is in a good location, 100 meters from the Basilica of San Francisco, about 2 streets on Witch Street, and a few hundred meters walk from the Presidential Capitol. The hotel service is very good, the front desk is very welcoming, and tea snacks are served every day. The restaurant is good for breakfast, lunch and dinner and afternoon tea are good. Basically, dining in La Paz has been chosen at the hotel. The hotel is a historical building remodeled.
Madero Hotel & Suites

Really very helpful staff who communicated well in English. The location is great and the rooms are beyond expectations given the modest price charged by the hotel. The breakfast was adequate rather than expansive. This suited me because I went on tours and hardly had time to have a huge breakfast. Definitely a hotel that serves your needs as a traveler without a hefty price tag. The central location was convenient and allowed your groups to pick up for excursions

The SIM cards are sold on the site and are only available for the Bolivians but you are told that once purchased, this does not pose any problems. The hotel is a special day when we are confined to the hotel for census all day, we can only eat in the hostel, so we reserve for two meals. No excuse, no minimum search of alternatives, nothing at all. Moreover, the hostel facilities do not also dream, minimum cleanliness. I do not recommend.

While its location is centric, the overall look of it is not the greatest! Outdated basic rooms for a night maybe 2. Breakfast menu is very limited and many of the items do not looked fresh at all! Nearby streets looked quite scary, specially at night, there is sense of not being secure... just my impression as if someone is going to jump out of nowhere... I had a 2 night stay before going to Uyuni and at the end of it, when checking out, the front desk staff was asking in an accusatory tone if I had eaten something from the minibar, which I hadn’t, but they insisted as if I was not telling the truth, the the front desk person went about the amount of towels and the it was “very strange” they left only one when it should have been 3! Once again this was done in a accusatory tone that made me think on offering to open my bags so they could check in wasn’t stealing them! Although I had a reservation for an additional 2 nights, upon returning from Uyuni, I decided to cancel, even losing money from doing it and find a “better” accommodation! I just didn’t feel comfortable being accused like that and no one to rely on for support! Bad experience overall!

Great bar, staff and good a**osphere! Great lookout of the city on the rooftop. Super close to bus terminal so easy to check in checkout and catch the next bus. While I am in South America to practice Spanish this wasn’t a great thing, they all speak good English. However, this may was an advantage for my friend I was travelling with!
