Rutllan & Spa

Free parking, a comfortable room, two minutes' walk from the very helpful tourist office at La Massala and a fine restaurant. The hotel is on a major road but I didn't find the traffgic noise too disturbing. Good bus service to Andorra La Vella or in my case a nice two hours' walk to La Vella with spectacular scenery all the way. I would return. Note this is a summer review, but I understand the ski lift is quite close!

We have just returned from a stay with Hotel Rutllan and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were welcoming and friendly, We came for a skiing trip and the hotel is situated right opposite the gondola in La Massana to the slopes, they have lockers for all of your ski gear too. Our package was halfboard which included breakfast and dinner, drinks were extra but these were very reasonably priced. The rooms were comfortable, clean and warm, the decor was a little dated, but we were in the rooms for sleep and showers. The beds were large and comfortable, the shower was powerful and warm. After a days skiing I didn't want to get out! There was a good selection at breakfast time, continental, pastries, crepes, pancakes, fruit, the list goes on. Juices, teas and coffee. A great selection and the perfect start to the day. They remembered our order of coffee and two teas. The evening meal was a set meal, with a choice of starters and mains. These were tasty and very filling, There was a great pudding choice as well. The kids menu was good and suited our fussy eaters. The staff were so friendly and helpful. We had the same table every night. The teenagers made use of the spa facilities and said that they were good and helped them relax after a day on the slopes. Hotel Rutllan's bar area was warm and inviting and another relaxing place to spend time in after the slopes. The gins hit the spot as did the Aperol Spritz. A favourite of mine was the Shampoo... Beer with fanta limon...very nice and refreshing. The drinks came with a little bowl of bar snacks, which went down very nicely. This is a family and dog friendly hotel offering a relaxed atmosphere and good food all year round. Should we come to La Massana, Andora skiing again, we would stay here. It is well appointed, there are small convenience stores nearby and pharmacies aplenty, which due to a stinking cold we had to use. Would totally recommend!
