Food quality in the restaurant is too poor! Not enough choice and if you come after 8:30pm for dinner there is not much left, best is to be there at 7 pm. Despite waiters and waitresses efforts who are very nice and look to satisfy you (special thanks to the young guy preparing omelettes, he prepared pancakes and pain perdu for my daughter while there was no more left). Breakfast is also very disappointing with very few choice. Rental bikes are a joke!

Lana is just a wonderful guide. She has an excellent eye and found me lots of great photo subjects. The diving at Ave Maria and Sister Island is fantastic. Octopus, sharks sleeping in caves and even a manta ray at the end of a Sister Island dive. All dives were well worth it and I am a tough customer with over 500 dives.

Our stay at La Digue Island Lodge was a real disappointment - from arriving to departure. The bad service started just from that we checked in and the staff insisted to have our booking voucher in physical papers. The check-in process thereafter continued very slow… Overall we felt that the staff found the guests as annoying. When we visited the pool bar the staff sighed when we asked to see the cocktail menu. The staff that manage the towels looked at us sleepily when we wanted to have towels. About the food, the breakfast was okay but the dinner was tasteless, definitely not worth the money! We lived in a chalet that was quite worn out with lots of insects. The day we checked out was a rainy day and the ferry didn’t departure until after lunch. We decided to pick up take away food (the lunch at the restaurant was extremely expensive and due to the standard of the food at the buffet we didn’t want to chance). Due to the rain we decided to sit in the waiting area (where you also stored your luggage). Suddenly the staff told us we couldn’t sit in the waiting area and eat and what we had to go outside. We asked him if we had to stand outside in the rain and have our lunch, and he insisted (because of his boss that called from somewhere else on the hotel area). Do we have to say that we never will come back to this place and never will recommend anyone other to visit Island Lodge?

Wonderful place! I can only recommend it to everyone! The hotel is in a very good location, close to everything, especially the National Park. In beautiful surroundings, cozy rooms, well-kept beautiful garden, great pool, fabulous view from the beach rooms, very kind and helpful staff! Cozy restaurant, above the sea, with romantic dinners and sometimes live music! Everything was great! :)

We spent in the La Digue Island Lodge six days and enjoyed its quiet and peaceful vibes very much. Do not expect glamorous luxury here: however, the overall ambience and services correspond well to a three-star hotel. We booked a standard garden room, which is a simple, clean and modest room with a rustic Creole feeling, providing adequate comfort for sleeping and resting after a daylong exploration of the island. We consider two main advantages of the hotel: (1) the location of the hotel is just perfect for exploring the island – all the attractive places are easily reachable from here, including L´Union Estate Park, Veuve Reserve, Nid d´Aigle trail and with a little help of the bike also the most beautiful south-east beaches. (2) a calm and quiet environment free of noisy entertainment, allowing to enjoy undisturbed relaxation in the quiet garden, beach or pool, listening to the murmur of the ocean and chirping of tropical birds, with a tasty cocktail from the pool bar. The restaurant is also designed in a rural Creole style, and we appreciate the offer of the delicious local Creole dishes that are almost unknown and hardly accessible to us in Europe. Be sure to take the opportunity to learn more about the nature of La Digue. With a little patience you will definitely be lucky to spot the gems of the local fauna, such as Paradise Flycatcher birds, Seychelles sunbirds, Seychelles blue pigeons or Greater Frigatebirds. One inconvience must be mentioned: the weak and unreliable wi-fi. If you want to do something important, like online check-in for your flight, it's a good idea to take your device closer to reception where the signal is better. But honestly: isn't it nice to enjoy a digital detox during your holidays? Guests from Europe must also be aware of incompatible electrical outlets. The reception offers adapters to borrow, but only one per room. Overall we would definitely recommend this hotel for our family or friends.

I went with my parents, we had a really great time. The hotel personnel are very professional, friendly and customer focused. I personally highly appreciated the housekeeping and restaurant staff, but the other departments also are very professional abd reliable. We had to leave the hotel early on our last day as we wanted to catch the first boat. We were delighted to have an early breakfast. Very peaceful and beautiful environment. Highly recommend this hotel.

It was terrible and way too expensive for what you get, luckily we only stayed for one night. We skipped dinner although it would’ve been included. Breakfast was terrible, the food is bad quality and you’d have to pay extra for cappuccino. All the employees (except one waiter) were quite unfriendly and not interested. The hut was quite old and we had unwanted pets in our bedroom (geckos and a cricket). At check in and check out you have to leave your luggage, they tell you that they’ll care about it but it’s kind of dubious. Better lock it if you can and keep your personal stuff to yourself. Just do not book here, this is probably the worst place to stay in La Digue.
