We stayed for 3 nights at the hotel in the middle of March 2024. As it has not been a great ski season snow wise i think that was part of the reason the hotel was probably about half full at the most. It is in a great location and the staff on the desk dealt with the check in quickly. We ate in the hotel on the first night in the Coeur restaurant, it is the same area as breakfast and does lack a little atmosphere for an evening meal as less than half full. The food however was excellent as was the service ( the only criticism would be the wine list was quite overpriced for the wines offered). Breakfast was ok and had decent variety, however i do feel for a 5 star hotel they should be offering eggs, omelettes and cooked items as part of the breakfast as opposed to an additional charge. Having stayed in 4 other ski hotels in the past 2 seasons ( none of which were 5 star), this was always included. The Room although small was very nicely appointed and only let down by the shower which was somewhat underpowered. The SPA area is very nice with a lovely pool, although the jacuzzi is within the pool area so not a warm jacuzzi. The Sauna was lovely but the gym is limited with just two running machines. The only disappointing decision by the front desk was not to extend our room checkout by more than an hour on departure. The hotel was clearly not remotely full at all but they stated it was going to be used that evening. I honestly believe any new guest could have been put into a different room as an extra hour would have made a big difference in terms of extending our ski morning. Overall we were impressed and do like La Clusaz ( although they really do need to upgrade the ski infrastructure which is very outdated now). There are some excellent restaurants in the lovely town.
