White Pearl Hotel

Great location, very friendly owner. Breakfast is too simple, no parking is fatal

We went on holiday to Kyrenia with my wife and daughter on 18.08.2023. When there was a problem with the hotel reservation where we had previously planned to stay, we found a place at the hotel called "White Pearl" in Kyrenia port to stay temporarily for 2 days. I paid 2,100 ₺ for 1 night! But his room and bathroom were dirty and neglected. There was an empty coke can in his mini-cupboard. It wasn't a hotel, it looked like an abandoned, run-down apartment. We had to stay for 2 days because we had to. However, due to insect bites on the first night, we left the hotel to look for a place to stay the next day. After 1 day, insect bite wounds on my wife's entire body started on the 2nd day, on my 2.5-year-old daughter and me. Our whole body was itching intensely. We found a place in another hotel. My wife couldn't sleep for 2 nights due to intense itching. Since it was the weekend, I found a pharmacy on duty. When I showed the wounds to the pharmacist, he told us that we were scabies and gave us scabies cream. We used the cream, but our itching continued like pain. On Monday, we went to the emergency room of the public hospital in Kyrenia. The doctor said that it was not scabies, but an insect bite, and they gave all three of us allergy and soothing injections. Our holiday in Kyrenia, where we came with my family dreaming of a happy holiday, was ruined because of this hotel. Our whole body is covered in wounds. I will never forget my daughter's suffering. I found the phone number of Mr. B***, the owner of the hotel, and on the 2nd day of the incident, I called him, sent him a picture of the wounds on our bodies and explained the situation. Only me; He said that I am sorry but such a thing is not possible and that this is the first time they have received a complaint. As I continued to express my complaints to him, he closed the issue by saying "complain, sir, complain." When I told these events to another person I met through a person I know who lives here; "He said that he knows this hotel, that it is a problematic and neglected place and that he has heard similar complaints before. Instead of risking your health by staying in this hotel, you will be safer sleeping on the bench in the park.

This is the first time I write such a review about a hotel. It takes a thousand witnesses to call this place a hotel. We booked a room for 3 people, they did not open the third bed, they said we will open it when you come and put a duvet and pillow. We went out in the evening and when we returned, nothing had been placed, there was no one on duty. We searched for sheets and pillows at the hotel on our own. If that wasn't enough, we lifted the duvet on the other bed, and socks came out... From then on, we could never be sure that the sheets were clean, and the pillows were dirty anyway. Since it was night, we somehow slept in that room. There was a swarm of mosquitoes in the room. When I said this to the staff in the morning, the wonderful hotel manager told us that they bite me too... So there is no solution, only an interpretation. You ask if there is coffee and we get the answer that there is alcohol upstairs. There is no answer to our question. The business did not think to install wires, we killed 20 mosquitoes until the morning. I'm not exaggerating at all, there was blood on the walls. The port has also undergone renovation (on 01.12.2022) with 6 months before full construction. You know, you shouldn't stay in this hotel under any circumstances. The friends in the other room asked where the breakfast was, and this manager friend showed them plates with 2 types of cheese and tomatoes on the ground floor. Breakfast is not served on the terrace. Everything written about the hotel is a lie. We took a refund and left the next day. If there had been someone responsible at the hotel, we would have left that night, we waited until the morning to get our money... Pay 200 TL more and stay in a clean and decent hotel.

We came across a facility that did not match the images on your site at all. It's a neglected facility. We had a big problem with hot water. Breakfast is below average. The staff were kind and tried to be helpful. However, it is a facility that could not rise above the average. I don't think it's worth the price.

Sunrise and sunset from our balcony overlooking the old harbor were delightful. We were expecting a boutique hotel service and we got all we wanted. Dear Birol Bey, because he is both an operator and a journalist, enchanted us with his intellectual structure and fed us with history, geography and culture during the day, while at night he showed all the skills of hospitality in the terrace bar. Enjoying live music in the open air was also an extra.
