The terrible check-in service provided by the two front desk staff totally ruined my mood to enjoy in this hotel, despite the man who look like the manager apologized when I checked out. I don’t think I will book this hotel again. We booked two rooms, they managed to give us rooms on the same floor but they mixed up with our keys. The staff at the front desk checked for a few times but still the keys were wrong. When we check out, the receipt was wrong too. We booked a triple room for 3 adults but they only let us have two key cards and didn’t want to provide more even we requested. For those who has young toddler, kindly note there is no bed guard available in twin bed room due to the thick mattress. I was also told that baby cot is only provided for baby between 0-2 and it is “illegal” to be provided for my son who is just 2 and 1m owing to their hotel or whatever policy. I was so disappointed that this five-star hotel couldn’t provide me a way to resolve the issue which I have never experienced in other hotels. Their baby cot is 120x70cm which is the same size as the one in my home. The staff even asked if my son would only “sleep” in it as if he would demolish the cot. At the end I was offered to use the baby cot but they didn’t put it in my room until I asked for it when i returned at night. The hotel could have put more emphasis on details if it is a family-welcoming hotel. We received the welcome pack for kids in the room. Baby stroller was also available at the front desk. Apart from that, kids tableware was nice although not provided at the beginning when we arrived at the restaurant. Anyhow, the hotel has a great location. The food at breakfast was delicious. The hardware in the room was new and clean. The bed and duvet were comfortable. The facilities inside the room can be controlled using an iPad and it was interesting to see a robot delivering room service. The art work at the lobby also caught my sons’ attention to stay.

Hotel Excellence Kyoto Station Hachijo

It seems that there are many foreigners who bring back the facilities in the room, and it was inconvenient because there was no pot in the room. Therefore, of course there is no tea or coffee. There are toothbrushes, disposable slippers and recesses. There are many outlets, but there is no USB port. There is a refrigerator. Also, outside the window is the wall of the next building immediately and there is a feeling of blockage. It is said that the next door is AEON MALL, but since it is a room that only sleeps, it is too far from the station as a room to go back to sleep at the time when the AEON MALL is closed. It's not so far away from the distance, but I feel far away because there is no store on the way.

I reserved a room that can accommodate 5 people, but no matter how I looked at it, it was a room for 2 people (or 3 people if I forced myself to do it). There are only two beds in the first place, so it is impossible to post that it can accommodate 5 people. When I asked the front desk about it, they replied that there is a sofa bed and if two people sleep in one bed, five people can stay. What the staff said was a sofa bed is just a sofa. There are no beds that can be made, and there are no comforters. Even though it's indoors, it's cold this time of year, and I was surprised that one person slept on the sofa without a blanket or comforter. Can this be called a hotel? Also, without any signs of guilt, I was defiantly told that it was a room for 5 people and that it was written on the internet page. Certainly, if you can treat that simple sofa as a bed, you may be able to count the number of beds as 3. Still three. If you have to sleep two people in one, you should clearly write in detail, ``Please sleep in a bed where only one adult can sleep normally.'' If I knew that, it would be impossible for two people to sleep in one bed due to the size and feeling, so I never stayed. Also, looking at the photos on the internet, there was no difference between the room for 4 people and the room for 5 people, and it seemed that they were using the same photos. I was told again about the sofa that there was no room for 4 people. The only difference from the room for 4 is a small sofa. I was terrified to see him continue to insist that the sofa was a bed without even apologizing. Not only was the layout and condition of the room impossible, but the staff's response was the worst, and it was the first time I felt so uncomfortable. When I arrived at the hotel, the front desk was unmanned, and instead of checking my luggage, I put it on the shelf in the shared space near the hotel entrance, which anyone can enter. It was a tougher environment. Of course, 5 people couldn't stay, so I left without using the hotel at all, but there was no refund. For better or worse, I thought this was the case.

The location of the hotel is excellent because it take 5-10 minites from hotel to Kyoto station. It was very convenient for me if I am traveling to all the scenery nearby Kyoto. Food and beverages is available surrounding the hotel, you can just have a light breakfast and then start to travel to your destination of choices.

The room is very new. Both the hotel door and the room door use passwords, but no one gave the password after booking. If you can't get in, someone will come out to open the door and check in if you call the door. But if you go to the hotel at night, there will be someone to provide service. It takes 8-10 minutes to walk to Kyoto. There is Aeon mall on the street. I recommend the hamburger steak in the food street. It tastes good and the meat is tender. The AEON fresh fish counter sells sashimi at 8 o'clock.

Very pleasant hotel experience: after registration, there is a driver to pick up and drop off to a quiet house, the room is Japanese style. The most appreciated is the fully equipped kitchen and bathroom (there is a small green garden outside the window).

Excellent Location - 5mins walk from Kyoto St. and just next to AEON mall. We can easily find a restaurant or grab food from AEON supermarket. New and clean - equipments are relatively clean and new. Though cleaning for every 3 nights stay, but not a problem for us. They prepared enough towels for the whole stay, and there are collection bins and baskets for garbage and used towels in the life lobby. We can simply take them out from our room when going out to keep our room clean during the whole stay. Spacious - room is large enough for our family of 5. Kids like both kinds of bedding and one of our activity was to discuss who took the tatami or who took the western bedding every day. must stay againnext time to Kyoto.
