The room was very very nice! Don’t mention the 13 square meters shown on the introduction, it should be at least 50 square meters. There are guest rooms, rooms, and bathrooms are separated. The toilet is on the other side. All are covered with bamboo mats. It is very comfortable and clean, and the white socks are not stained with dust. When we arrived, the bath water had already been placed in the pine wooden tub, and everything should be put in a place where we could easily get it. There is a faint woody fragrance in the whole room, which is so healing. The service is very thoughtful and meticulous, even if you don't understand the language, you can also dance and communicate. The most memorable thing is that his food is so delicious, it is the most worthwhile hotel in Kyoto. The proprietress is very kind, and will definitely stay here again

One of the best hotels we have stayed in ever! Absolutely stunning design of hotel from Outside to in, layout, attention to detail, all made from natural materials. Location was great, less than 10 min taxi to Kyoto Station, handy for the rainy days we had and heavy suitcases too! There’s even a shop downstairs selling their own brands, unfortunately we didn’t have the time to check it out, but from trying their teas in the room provided, I can tell their products are great! Staff were polite and very helpful. We were even upgraded to a room with a balcony! What a treat. Will absolutely stay here again! Highly recommend!

The location is excellent and right in the downtown of Kyoto but not in the front street which will be too crowded and noisy, still there were some noisy from the restaurants and bar nearby which still played loud music even after 12:00AM, so not ideal for those people who needs total silence to sleep. This is probably the necessary evil when live in the downtown hotel, but the hotel is already in the back alley so felt a bit better. Cannot consider the service top quality since the hotel front desk is located at 8th floor, and there is only one person tending the luggage at ground level till 6PM, so no service can be offered at ground level, this is the part can improve since some of the high floor hotel do have ground floor service crew unless in a big commercial building complex. The room is nicely decorated and everything feels new, no complaint about the room. Although the breakfast is a bit disappointed given the very limited selection of foods and Japanese style breakfast can only offer limited number (25 serving per day?), this part can definitely make some improvement, at least inform the guest about the limited number so we can book in advance.

Rooms, private baths + public bathing pools, exclusive reception areas, and exclusive elevators all feel pretty good at first. But...but the price is more than 4,000 per night. After checking out, I put my luggage in the hotel. When I came back from shopping, I could only pick up my luggage on the first floor. In the very small space at the elevator door, I could only unpack and put things on the floor (people coming and going squeezed the aisle). This was compared to when I first checked in. Service has simply fallen off a cliff. The two service staff at the front desk just looked at it. There was a sign on the luggage that said ”Vie Di” was on it, but they didn't care anyway. Haha, it's really humorous.

Quite satisfied and great location for the price! Location is great and almost walkable to major parts of central Kyoto. For example Nishiki Market 1 minute (but overpriced), Karasuma and shopping streets 1 minute, Hankyu train line for going Osaka or other places just 6 minute, Big local shopping malls like Fresco and LIFE or Takashimaya store just 10 minute. Moreover it is within walking distance to Gion area and Panchoto alley and river. Although the room is small, is convenient and bed was quite tall that myself as Big Caucasian 180+cm had no issue in size of bed. Shower and toilet also very clean and have all amenities included. Also the lobby is good to mingle or eat food as there is microwave available. The luggage can be kept free-of-charge after checkout if have Suica. Breakfast is a bit simple and at Datour. not bad, but maybe can take without breakfast for more flexibility.

Booked 3 nights in Kyoto and decided on Forza Hotel Shijo Kawaramachi. Check-in was swift but the lady staff could not speak much English, though. The room was not very big and opening up 2 big pieces of luggage was quite challenging but manageable. There was a mini fridge but no safe deposit box. I like the access to free hot beverages in the lobby area. The location of the Hotel is great! It's right in the middle of the shopping street. There is an Exit 11 from Shijo Station that is right to the Hotel (a distance to walk, though) The famous Nishiki market is just a 2 minutes walk from the Hotel. Lots of shops and eateries near the Hotel. Across the road on the short distance right, you can catch buses (at the Bus Stop) to many sightseeing spots within Kyoto. Though this was not my original choice of Hotel in Kyoto, I found the stay in Forza Hotel cozy and comfortable. In fact, I love it! Will I stay at Hotel Forza Kyoto Shijo Kawaramachi again? Of course!

Love this hotel. There is nothing I could fault on. Great location with many eateries around and just next to nishiki market. Staff were very attentive and helpful. Room was clean and new. The only thing I wish for was a hot spa to end my day but other than that, everything was perfect

The family has been to Kyoto before and recommend it to us. General accommodation bookings are not recommended, mainly Japanese. Room facilities are old, the socket does not support domestic chargers, it will electrophoresis, and finally we had to go to a convenience store to buy a Japanese Apple charging head and cable. Although the room has a shower room, but it does not supply hot water, I have to go to the large bathhouse. I go alone at more than 9pm every night, so I am scared. It is more like a homestay. Although there is room service, the waiter will lay a mattress every night and collect it in the morning. Then he will send breakfast to the room (to order with meals). If there are requirements for accommodation, it is recommended not to live anymore.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights during our stay in Kyoto. We loved our stay and would definitely recommend this Ryokan. From the moment we arrived we were made feel so welcome. The room was spacious and the beds on the floor were comfortable, even at four months pregnant I was comfortable. My husband and I both took advantage of the Onsen bath onsite which was lovely. The location is fantastic right beside the Nishiki Market, there are so many restaurants nearby. We had breakfast onsite one morning and would absolutely recommend doing this at least once. It was absolutely delicious and one of the highlights of our trip to Japan.

The rating represents an average of the guest room (5 stars) and customer service (0 stars) experiences. Everything in life is relative, right? So keep in mind that we spent $700/night. The extremely expensive traditional Japanese guest rooms are exquisite, but 1) service in the exclusive restaurants is prioritized over service to hotel guests, meaning that there is literally no guest assistance during dinner hours; 2) and when guest service is available, it is provided in very poor, broken English, which results in misunderstandings and frustration. We actually felt as though we had to avoid the personnel and struggle to find our own solutions, such was the frustration and concern about feeling too pushy or intrusive. Although it was by no means easy, it was easier to google our way out of problems or ask people on the street. There were several times when we had to enter the kitchen to find anyone available to help and others when we dialed 8 on the telephone and let it ring interminably. It worked once. No one is around early in the morning. The owner acts like he’s on speed, making bizarre 2 second appearances and, in the following example, can make really bad choices. We originally booked a room for 5 nights during Sakura season along with our friends. Our friends canceled their reservation, so the owner assumed that it was OK to cancel ours as well. When we told him that we did not cancel, he scolded us, saying it was Sakura season and that he was very busy and that I must reconfirm my reservation with a credit card (by email!). This also coincided with a tourist rush to Japan that occurred just after Japan was reopened for general tourism. This all transpired around Christmas, so since I was not as vigilant with my emails and was hesitant to send credit card information by unencrypted email, we lost our reservation again! When the dust settled, he could not accommodate us for as long as we originally intended to stay. We are now in Tokyo at the Okura hotel..and NOW I know what superlative Japanese-style customer service is all about.

A great Japanese-style tatami hotel, a special surprise is that the room area is so large that it is 40 square meters! ! ! The price-performance ratio is very high, and there is a separate bathroom. If you have lived in Tokyo or Osaka, you will feel a lot of relief at once. The waiters are very enthusiastic and will come to make your bed every night, especially there is an old man on the first floor. It is very enthusiastic. From the beginning of check-in, he will answer any questions you have in detail. He recommends all kinds of delicious and fun. The hotel breakfast has Western and Japanese styles, which are all very good. Japanese styles need to be reserved in advance. The only drawback of the hotel is from the subway. It takes about 10 minutes to walk to the station. A very pleasant surprise and an unforgettable staying experience! Let me talk about a few aspects: Good location: Downstairs is a Melbourne-style cafe. Turn left for 200 meters to Ogawa Cafe. Walk another 100 meters to the famous Nishiki Market, and continue forward to Shinkyogoku Market. Go out and turn right for 200 meters and you will find INODA Coffee, and behind you is Weekenders Coffee, both of which are well-known online celebrity shops. The Noodle Ramen and Yakiniku restaurants that are within walking distance are both high-scoring restaurants with 4.9 points. The hotel is quiet, and the quality of sleep at night is very good. The hardware condition is good: the hotel is very new, the room is quite big in Japan, the shower and air conditioner work well, and the built-in lounge has some snacks to eat. There are also welcome matcha and snacks when you check in, which are also enjoyed in the lounge, very conscientious! Strong sense of service: There is a brother in the hotel who can speak Chinese! Thank you so much for patiently answering my itinerary questions. I arrived before the check-in time, and the room hadn't been cleaned yet. My little brother helped me through the formalities, and then arranged for someone to deliver the luggage to the room after the room was cleaned. When I checked out, the lady at the front desk called a taxi for me to the train station (about 2,000 yen by taxi), and the car arrived in 3 minutes, which was very convenient. If you want to say something that can be improved, the room only provides a small bottle of mineral water a day, and you can consider giving more. Other aspects are really good, thanks to the hotel staff for giving me an unforgettable trip to Kyoto!

A very good Japanese-style hotel. There is a large bathroom on the ground floor. The location is great. I was in a rush this time and did not experience dinner and breakfast. I am a little regretful. After mistakenly going to the other ”Piece Hostel” (the one near the Kyoto Station) where I thought I had booked, I took the subway over to Sanjo. The location is great, in the midst of all the action in restaurants, bars, etc. It is a bit of a hike from the subway, but not too bad. Rooms are small but comfortable and the hostel has a tremendous amount of place for hanging around and a well equipped kitchen. The staff was terrific. Best of all was Oytun, a young man from Turkey who, in 4 years in Japan, has become fluent in Japanese and English. He was extraordinary. Always willing to help with anything and make valuable suggestions. He made the stay a real joy.

The best location in the selected hotel in Kyoto! Just a few steps away from the house and turn left is the Jin Market. There is a main road nearby. The four most lively areas are super convenient for food and shopping! I will give priority to this one when I go to Kyoto in the future! Very self-service hotel, enter the door every day, and then use the key to open the door. Maybe the only inconvenience is that check-in is at Kyoto Station, but the problem is not big, and there will be a shuttle bus back to the hotel after registration. No breakfast, but no need at all! Because it is next to the Nishiki Market, I don’t have to worry about having no place to eat every day! In addition, it is very suitable for family travel. The annex building can accommodate 4 people, and the room in the main building can accommodate 5 people. The price/performance ratio is quite high!

Our stay at the Miru Kyoto Nishiki in a premium room was wonderful. It’s all about location and we found the proximity to Nishiki market brilliant. We easily navigated from the accommodation to the train station for a day trip to Nara and were able to walk and catch public transport around Kyoto easily from the location. The room itself was generous in size and we appreciated the small touches of the bottled water, the treat of a croissant each morning and the tea and coffee making facilities in the room. The bed and pillows were exceptionally comfortable and service at the hotel was welcoming and friendly. Overall, we found the area to be quiet and slept soundly in the comfortable rooms. A lovely stay and I would happily recommend this accommodation.
