Kyoto Ryokan Kinoe Reviews

My son and I stayed 2 nights. Cordial staff. Good explanations for English speakers with Japanese cultural differences explained for us American travelers. Very happy with service and cleanliness. Breakfast was multiple dishes in Japanese style. Very enjoyable.

Food could use more choices

Quintessential traditional Japanese Ryokan. Showing its age.

The staff was very kind and helpful. Located in a nice point near Gion and Yasaka Jinja. The bus from station stops really near to structure

location is pretty good, easy to reach main spot of Gionmachi

The room was larger than expected, and the location was particularly good. It felt like I was just a few steps away from Kaotai Temple. The front desk was very considerate and carefully wiped the suitcase before carrying it indoors. After a long day of traveling, I came back to the hot springs and felt so relaxed😀

Wonderful setting!

Wonderful atmosphere right near the heart of Kyoto. Very close access to several historic sites (Yasaka-jinja, Kiyomizu-dera) as well as public transportation. Public bath is very nice and well kept. Breakfast served was traditional and varied every day as well as delightful. Would easily recommend and would stay at again.

Amazing place - oasis of peacefulness in a busy city

We loved our one night stay at The Kinoe. The dinner was delicious and felt special and the breakfast was really good too. The service by all staff we encountered was great! We'd highly recommend if you're looking for a ryokan experience/unique experience.

There were a few options to eat around the Ryokan but the ones we wanter to go to needed a reservation. We did get the breakfast package and highly recommend that. Overall it was a good experience with the tatami mats, futon and general decor. The Onsen was a bit small but it's definitely worth going to at least once.
