Machiya Maya Gion

It's written as a hotel, but it's actually more like a guesthouse. The inside was nice, but I wonder if the staff's attitude was worth it. The front desk staff had no idea about the facilities in the guest rooms, how to use the materials, or how they were managed, so they could only wait for someone who seemed to be their superior to respond. When I asked the hotel manager if there were any extra towels, I was told there were extra ones under the bed, but there were none there. They probably don't normally check or manage the materials in the guest rooms. I work in the service industry, so I couldn't help but be disappointed by the lack of training. The guest rooms themselves had good bedding, and it was nice to be able to use the kitchen.

It's a very convenient location near Gion, and the old house has been renovated, so I was able to get a feel for Kyoto and have a very satisfying trip! If I had to say one thing, I would have liked the bath in the annex on the second floor to have a film that can't be seen from the outside, or at least to have a blurred window on the upper part.
