Very old style house, doesnt look like what others review before this. House window made from paper so can hear the noise outside and some of the people who stay there smoking outside the house so the smell can easily pass through the window. Super noisy when people walking around and everything is made from wood. U cnt check in at the hotel itself, u need to walk 8mins away to another building to check in and they randomly give u a room from 3 different hotels. Only 1 shared bathroom. Overall a very bad experience.

Loved the room K21. Short walk from the Gojo station, very nice and traditional room with tatami, we always bought our breakfast from the nearby store and enjoyed our breakfast in the room ( with a nice little table next to the window) before we headed out. In general we loved it!
Even tho we were sharing the bathroom but we barely saw anyone else, there were only 4 rooms in the house we stayed. Other guests were polite and kept quiet during the stay, grateful for that!

Beautiful accomodation very much in Japanese style, at the front desk the girls very nice, you have to change facilities to check in but it is like that in many places. In my accommodation there was a kitchenette, but unfortunately we could not use it because the stove and microwave were not working. Great location.

I love visiting this little warming spots, this place made me feel even better about Kyoto, about Japan, the service is so well and sweet, and the room was quite big for one person, next time when I need to visit Kyoto, I will definitely come here again!

Almost 900 per day. First of all, the check-in is far from the place where I live. It is inconvenient to go back and forth with a big luggage. You can understand it. Secondly, the room I was given was not the Koto-an but a Japanese-style room next to it. There are three rooms in total, one downstairs and one upstairs. The old house is not soundproof at all. If I encounter low-quality guests, it is a nightmare. All kinds of noises make me want to escape from this place as soon as possible. Cleaning and changing bedding every three days, and changing towels every three days. If you want to change them the next day, you have to pay. I stayed for a few days and finally wanted to store my luggage and pick it up in the afternoon. Sorry, I paid 1,500 yen for one day. I have never heard of it. I dragged my luggage and ran away quickly! ! ! As a tourist who has been to Kyoto five times, I doubted Kyoto tourism for the first time.
The most important question is, when I was looking for a room, I only saw one good review for this Koto-an. Later, when I arrived in Japan, I saw many unsatisfactory reviews under Ctrip Hotels. I saw that the time was before November. It was strange. Could it be that the merchant and Ctrip did something? I must ask Ctrip for clarification.

My friends who stay at business hotels are always fascinated by the shared spaces and the accommodation system. It was fun to experience the townhouse.

Because the room type I originally wanted to stay in was wrong, I had to book a cheaper one😭 According to my husband, he can accept it, but he thinks that based on my hygiene standards, I can't live here😂
