It was my first time staying in a temple. The environment was very beautiful and very quiet at night. I also had dinner in the hall and it was very exquisite. I got up at 5 o'clock in the morning to participate in the monks' chanting. The sense of ritual was very strong and very shocking. It was a very profound and wonderful experience.

The service and sanitary facilities are all very good. It is less than 2 kilometers from Kyoto Station by taxi, which takes more than 10 minutes. It is very convenient to walk to Sanjusangendo Hall and Kyoto National Museum, less than 15 minutes. To go to Kiyomizu Temple, you have to crawl, which is a bit farther.

This a review for the restaurant within the Chishaku Council Hall (Saryo Kikyo- we did not sleep/stay at the council hall/hotel. Lunch was very tasty and casual. You'll need someone who speaks Japanese to phone and reserve for you, however. The Chishakuin garden across the parking lot from the hall was wonderful and wonderfully uncrowded.

How can I book a room at this establishment for the period from July 16 to 20, 2024? I can't find the internet link to contact the owner to find out about the site's availability as indicated on the TRIPADVISOR site?

I stayed here on a three-generation trip. An elderly couple, their daughter and her husband, and their 1-year-old grandchild each stayed in a Japanese-Western style room. All the rooms were clean and the tatami area seemed to be good for families with children. There is a large public bath, but the bath in the room was separate and easy to use. Food and chairs were provided for children. Also, it was OK to bring children along for the morning shift and tour. I was very grateful that children were welcomed. We had dinner and breakfast in the large hall, and lunch and snacks in the restaurant, which was convenient and convenient even for families with children. There was also a diaper changing bed in the public restroom. Parking is free.

After watching the procession of the Aoba Festival at Chishakuin Temple, I went to get a reservation for lunch, but it was fully booked on that day and I couldn't make a reservation. After enjoying various hydrangea flowers in the hydrangea garden, I entered the store before 11:15 and made a reservation for "Shojin Gozen". . Immediately, a tray of "Shojin Gozen" was brought, and a little later, rice and Negoro soup were brought. The dishes of "Shojin Gozen" are as follows. Seasonal aemono, seasonal change, simmered dish, deep-fried dish, rice, pickles, Negoro soup, dessert. While eating, I forgot that I was eating Shojin cuisine. I chose just the right feeling of fullness and went out to see the scenic garden. I'm planning to eat Fucha cuisine at Manpukuji at the end of this month, so I'm looking forward to comparing the differences.
