The boss was very enthusiastic and nice. Because we didn’t have dinner on the first night, he upgraded us to sukiyaki on the second day. The environment was very clean and tidy. There was no outdoor hot spring, but it didn’t affect this perfect trip. Thank you to the owner.

This family run Ryokan is authentic and has an onsite onsen. The food they served is home cooked and tastes delicious. we had the hotpot for dinner and it filled us up satisfactorily. All toiletries are provided for our onsen experience including robes for use during our stay. Do take a walk around the Ryokan because it is at the base of a mountain and breathe in the fresh air. Highly recommended.

The breakfast and dinner were delicious and hosts were very kind. It was a great chance to experience staying at a ryokan and definitely worth it.

The most detail oriented, clean place I've ever stayed! The hosts are incredibly meticulous and helpful, the rooms are spacious and clean, and the food is incredible (and with huge portions, unlike a lot of Japan). Free yukatas provided for your stay, along with a wonderful onsen complete with a massage chair, skincare, and rubber duckies :) Beautiful plants up front, along with elegant & cute furnishings and artwork everywhere in the building. Could not recommend more!

Bit of a trek from Kyoto 1 hour bus ride, but a quiet lovely rural town and good break from busy touristy attractions. The Ryokan is clean with traditional tatami mat rooms. Sleep on thin futons on the floor which some people might find too hard. It seems like no air conditioning only heating, so may be hot in the summer time but in spring it was fine with heat turned off Lovely hot shared onsen separate ones for men and women. Yukata and kimono were provided for each guest to use around the premises. Traditional Japanese breakfast with rice, miso soup, fish, pickled vegetables. I found the fish overcooked and too salty. Free loan of bicycles for the area - really nice biking around to some nearby temples Really friendly owner, highly recommend!

This is a guest house. It is not a hotel or inn, so if you want that level of service, it would be wise to exclude it from your options. The owner's uncle and aunt are very friendly. The room is a Japanese-style room with tatami flooring and is spacious, but it does not have a tsutsugu or a rising floor like a Japanese inn. When you open the sliding sliding door like a fusuma, you are immediately in the room. Baths, washrooms, and toilets are shared. The toilets have multiple toilet bowls, but like in a normal house, there is no air conditioning, so you will sweat in midsummer.

We stayed with 3 people, 2 girls and 1 child. The bath was equipped with amenities, irons, steamers, massage chairs, and everything else. It was also nice that you could park your car for free.
