Ala Kyoto Hotel is superb! I stayed for my birthday and it was lovely - clean, great location (near to Kyoto station) and easy enough to get the bus to Gion (shopping area). The staffâs customer service was exceptional - went through extra lengths for my birthday and sorted out forwarding our luggage. The hotelâs laundry facilities were great, the gym was a little small but had what you really needed if you wanted to run/cycle/elliptical. I didnât try the onset but imagine it was good! Nothing to complain, the rooms were lovely! - stayed in both the double and twin - lots of space in both (larger than most in Japan). Highly recommend, the prices are usually good but stayed during golden week, so the prices were inflated but still worth the money. 10/10.

Comfortable stay with an impressive terrace on roof top where you can chill out with the view of Kyoto while soaking your feet, so comfy! Bar time in the evening at the terrace. Small hot bath area yet peaceful ambience.
Small room but well equipped. They suggest to store the luggage under the bed but personally found that it isn't practical for big luggage. Otherwise the mattress is comfortable and the provided amenities are all fine for the stay.
Good location even department stores, shops, restaurants, public transportation, attractions, Gion and etc are in walking distance but still silent enough and I had a good stay here. Also taxi stop is just right in front of the hotel entrance.
Luggage can be store after check out but please check with the time for picking up with the staff.

Not bad location. Room clean but extremely small, barely enough for the bed and a little corridor. It was difficult to find place to set down two suitcases to open. Carpet floor is more easy to keep dirt and bacteria. Only two pillows provided, and when asked for more, they said no more available. Breakfast is nice but expensive. Free coffee at the entrance. Staff was nice even if refusing pillow. But they sold us a bus pass that could not be used in all buses and didn't warn us, a total waste.

I grabbed a three-night stay at the Double Eleven price. Although it's not in a very busy area, it's very convenient to go out to the subway station, bus station, fresh food supermarket and drugstore. The service is not bad, and the front desk will do its best to solve any problems. One night I bought some big roots and wanted the restaurant to cut them, but they said there was no such service. I asked the front desk to give me a handfulđȘ and I was very satisfied! The room is 18 square meters and not small. I didn't eat breakfast in the store, so I can't comment on it. In short, it's still worth staying. By the way, you can go to the 7th floor every night to take a hot spring to relieve fatigue~

The landlordâs Chinese communication barrier-free environment: two floors, two bathrooms and one bathroom. The layout is very careful and the place is large. The tatami bed, kitchen and toilet facilities are complete, including hand sanitizer, seasonings, detergent, oven, Induction cooker, rice cooker. Transportation: The location is not very convenient. I only found it after walking through several alleys. I was still helped by a Japanese uncle. The positioning was not accurate enough. It is recommended that the host can draw a picture for the guests to make it more convenient. The family is very satisfied, the price is good, and the host also gave red wine!

One of the best hotels we visited in Japan! Truly amazing experience. All visitors walk without shoes in the hotel but the floor was absolutely clean and nice. Excellent baths, massage chairs, breakfast (in the photo) and complementary ramen & ice cream. The room and the hotel as well were in Japanese style which was perfect for us. 11 minutes from shinkansen railway station, 7 minutes from subway, 30-40 minutes by foot to Gyon. Smoking room was available however it was pretty small but ok.
What could be improved: more cleaning in the bathing area in dressing room. More massage chairs would be nice as it was pretty crowded due to people waiting in queues. One woman left her child in the massage chair with ipad âfor hoursâ so it was impossible for other visitors to use it.
Overall, fascinating hotel and we will 100% sure come back!

Selected Room: Harmony Suite
A very clean and spacious room with a distinctive layout that boasts ample living space for a couple or family with small children. The big bathtub and plenty of natural light coming from the large windows were the major highlights of the room.
Location: Prime location. Situated right next to Kyoto Station, it is a 1-minute walk from the hotel to the station.
Staff: All staff members were very hospitable and gave you the best support they could when attending to requests.
Gajamer was amazing! He helped us check-in and was very professional and polite in any possible way.
Meals: We did not select any meal plans for this stay.
Overall experience: A very pleasant stay, with all expectations met as shown in the photos and descriptions. Strongly recommended.

SSiu Wai LindaHotel location is good, Takashiyama department store is just cross the street.
It's a small hotel, and not easily found. On ground floor lobby, they will have a simple check of documents. Afterwards, a staff will bring us to 9th floor reception area for check in. We were served with a cup of tea and sweets while waiting. After the check in, another staff will escort us to have a tour around the hotel and our room.
Room is spacious with private Onsen. Though room's city view is fair only, the main selling point is the open-air onsen. The private open-air onsen is great and very comfortable.
The fridge in our room has many free drinks including wine and beer.
Unexpectedly, we could see the sunrise from our room. The Japanese breakfast is delicate and good. Everything is good except the bed mattress is too soft for us.
9th floor reception floor has a nice view, two public hot springs are located on this floor. This floor serves with free coffee and drinks and ice cream bars.
Itâs surprising that besides the hotel front entrance, there is a secret side door, no need to pass through the lobby counter, like a private entrance with a sense of privilege.

GGuest UserBeautiful view and delicious food. The picture shows breakfast, mostly vegetarian dishes, very healthy. The manager is very handsome. Check in at 3 pm, even half an hour earlier is not allowed, pay attention to the time arrangement. There are many fat koi in the courtyard outside the room, and they also let me feed the fish food, very happy đ„ł
CcherriecyThe hotel is very pretty, Andre Fu never fails to impress! Breakfast was nice with good variety to choose from, would be great if we can have a drink menu as well.
The room was a bit small for 3 ladies and the bathroom is quite transparent. Would be great if switchable smart glass is used instead for the bathroom window for privacy. Despite the minor inconvenience, the bathtub is amazing and spacious. Itâs perfect for couple.
The thermal spring is clean and is usually not busy. The hotel provides swim suit for guests as it is a mixed pool. The service was smooth and the environment is very relaxing. The only thing we didnât like about the spring was that there is no natural lights as it is located in the basement. Donât miss out on the morning breathing session!
Special shoutout to the concierge team as they very efficiently helped us with restaurant and workshops recommendation and bookings prior to our arrival. Taxis were arranged promptly every time. We had a really good time in Kyoto and we canât wait to come back again!
CConroyThe hotel is nested in a quiet corner, within walking distance of Sagaogurayama Tabuchiyamacho. Im however a bit disappointed with the limited facilites it offered when compared to the price we paid.
We stayed in the Tsukinone Twin Room which is on the third floor of the building. The view is pleasant. The room is of decent size. Yet there were no public onsens. We need to pay YEN5000 for 45 minutes and there are only 2 private onsens.
For more luxurious rooms with private onsen, the one I visited was on the ground level with no views as it were by the pathway to the reception , separated by wooden planks.
We paid around Yen5000 for the breakfast in the hotel, Both western and japanese breakfasts were offered. We tried both. It is of standard. The 4 different juices presented on the top of the bento box was impressive.
The vaccinity is pleasant. We could walk to the train station, the tourist rown area , the nearby parks and the world heritage sites. Nice area .

GGuest UserAs usual, Hotel Monterey Kyoto provided superior service. My room was clean and spacious and I enjoyed the ocha and coffee provided. The water from the tap is not good though, so be sure to buy bottled water to drink and to make hot drinks.

Great
AAhmet ZekiDear Sir/Madam,
I recently had the opportunity to stay at your hotel, and I would like to share my experience with you. First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude for the exceptional design and comfort your property offers. Kengo Kumaâs architectural brilliance, with its use of natural wood, thoughtful lighting, and integration of art pieces, creates a stunning and serene atmosphere. Additionally, the comfort of the rooms, the quality of the materials, the size of the beds, and the premium linens were truly impressive. In terms of design and comfort, your hotel sets a remarkable standard.
However, I did encounter several service-related issues that I believe could be addressed to enhance the overall guest experience. I would like to share these points in the hope that they are helpful for future improvements:
1. Breakfast Lounge and Sushi Area: The proximity of these two areas creates a strong odor upon entering, which can be unpleasant. Improved ventilation could easily mitigate this issue.
2. Food and Beverage Service After Breakfast: The lack of food and beverage service after breakfast hours was inconvenient. At the very least, providing a space for guests to enjoy tea or coffee would be a welcome addition.
3. Room Service Availability: After a long journey, I was surprised to learn that room service was unavailable and that only rice balls could be provided. Expanding room service options would greatly improve the guest experience.
4. Flexibility with Breakfast Hours: Due to the time difference, I arrived slightly late for breakfast at 10:10 AM and was informed that nothing could be served. Even my request for tea did not receive a clear response. Greater flexibility in accommodating guests dealing with jet lag would be highly appreciated.
5. Lobby Services: The inability to offer anything to drink or even host a guest in the lobby felt restrictive. This could be improved to make the lobby a more welcoming space.
6. Spa Experience: I was unable to experience the renowned Banyan Tree spa as it was fully booked. Expanding spa reservation availability would help meet guest expectations for this signature offering.
In summary, while the hotel excels in design and comfort, the service offerings seem to be constrained by rigid rules and limited hours, which can detract from the overall guest experience. I strongly believe that adopting a more flexible, guest-centered approach would significantly enhance satisfaction.
If the above issues were addressed, I would certainly consider staying at your hotel again during my next visit to Kyoto. Once again, I want to thank you for the exceptional design and comfort provided during my stay and hope that these suggestions contribute to further elevating your standards.
Best regards, next visit to Kyoto. Once again, I want to thank you for the exceptional design and comfort provided during my stay and hope that these suggestions contribute to further elevating your standards.

DDeercHotel location is decently accessible. Short bus or train ride to Kyoto station and easy to get to many attractions. Free breakfast included, but do get down early if there are many people staying there. Free drinks in the evening with a selection of liquors. Public bath was great, but time limited with both genders using one bath on alternate timings. Also abit on the smaller side. Ammenities was great and staff was friendly.
Plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance. Overall a good place to stay.

Very Good
AAlenaVery nice family place! You can feel life in a regular Japanese house. Spacious room with a wonderful view, kotatsu and futons. The toilet is small and separate on the floor, but it is not a problem. In the hot springs there is a bath both inside and outside. The barrel is especially cool because it is separate and you can admire the forest. We arrived on a cold day, so we got maximum pleasure.
Dinner was traditional in the common room, where everyone had a good time. Hot pot with signature miso is very tasty! Breakfast is also traditional and tasty. Since we do not eat raw eggs, they made us a delicious omelet instead. Thank you for your care!
It is located a little far from the bus stop, but the views along the way make up for the distance. We were taken back to the bus station by car.
I recommend staying for a couple of nights to enjoy it to the fullest!
GGuest UserGreen Rich Hotel Kyoto is located near Kujo, Kyoto Station. There is a bus stop at the door. It takes 15 minutes to walk from Kyoto Station. It is very convenient. The hotel is not expensive. The rooms are OK, not very small. Two rooms are booked, one on the 7th floor and the other on the 8th floor. Both sides are close to the road, but they don't honk when driving in Japan. This detail is really good, so the road is very quiet and you won't be woken up by the beeping. There is an artificial hot spring in the lobby on the first floor. It is very comfortable and you can soak there every day. The hotel front desk will tell you the time. It is a local Japanese-style hot spring. You can soak there directly, and you can't wear swimsuits. It is separated for men and women. The password for opening the door changes every day. Just ask the hotel for the password. The restaurant is also in the lobby on the first floor. It is very obvious and can be seen at a glance. The sky outside the room window is clean and bright. I will stay there next time.
