I choose this hotel because its in the train station and beside metro subway and in front local bus and taxi area for good transportation. Lots food area 😋 Kyoto to osaka rapid train 580 yen about 30 mins travel time . No need for the bullet train save your money. I used jr railpass last year a waste of money . 15 mins travel time thats differences. This was my first trip to Kyoto and there are many options for hotels. I was having trouble deciding exactly where but Good Nature turned out to be an excellent choice because: 1. It's right downtown - a few minutes walk to two subway stops - you'll use the subway to get to good attractions like Inari, Nara, Kiyomizu 2. you are also within walking distance to Pontocho, Gion, Nishiki markets 3. There were 3 of us so we had 3 individual beds - in a standard room and despite this being 28m2 the layout of the room is very good. Of course, if you want the deluxe room it's much bigger but it will cost a lot more 4. Managed to score a trip.com 36% discount (for 5 nights) which was a no-brainer (we just got the room only) - pay for buffet breakfast if you must (plenty of Starbucks around if that's your thing) - I did book the first night separately direct through the hotel website though as the trip.com offer didn't extend for 6 nights 5. The room was very clean, the staff were very friendly and explained everything. 6. Buffet breakfast was a good selection of Western and Asian choices. The restaurant was very clean. The prosciutto was amazing!

Don't know why but I fell in love with this hotel. Modern, clean, always with good music and smell, well furnished with wood, concrete, and plants, with a lovely bakery at the entrance, and a fantastic restaurant serving a delicious and abundant breakfast. The room was very well modernly furnished. They offer you many experiences, and even an electric bike to visit Kyoto (that I really enjoyed). The staff was very friendly, even if sometimes it was struggling to talk due to poor English knowledge. It is very close to Higashiyama and Gion, which you can reach by walking 15-20'. The rooftop bar serves excellent cocktails. Additionally, the price is low for the service and the quality offered! FANTASTIC!

Beautiful design hotel in the Gion area. Peaceful at night. Clean and Wider room with amenities provided. Ensuite bathroom in each room. Public bath also available. Helpful and friendly staffs. They are good in English as well. Great service. The location is good. Many many attractions are in walking distance from the hotel. Parcel shipping like yamato is able to do so. Luggage scale also provided at the lobby. Hotel parking just opposite to the hotel building and recommend to note with the hotel in advance. Nice stay in Kyoto!

Location of the hotel is excellent. It is just right by Kyoto station, making it extremely easy and convenient to not only visit all the major sites but also to travel interstate via the Shinkansen. Hotel is modern Japanese theme is absolutely stunning both from the exterior and interior. The hotel room is also very luxurious (and big by Japanese standards), with a beautiful spa-themed bathroom that is a joy to come back to after all the exploring. For breakfast, you get a choice of either Japanese (kaiseke style) or western/intercontinental. Both choices were delicious (but If I had to pick only one, I’d go for the Japanese one). Gym was also very decently equipped and there is a spa/onsen within the hotel. Overall, I would return here again for another stay when I’m back in Kyoto! ❤️

We booked a triple room and so glad that the 3rd bed is of the same good quality as the original 2. The 3rd bed was not just a makeshift mattress. All family members were able to rest well. Room was well designed to allow luggages under the bed to not take up too much space when not in use. Hotel also provided sample sized lotions and cleansing gels. When we arrived before check in time, we were pleasantly surprised that we can rest in the lounge and have a drink while waiting. Will definitely recommend.

Hotel asked to pay accommodation tax upon checking in and insist it is required for all Kyoto hotel showing us two brochures. This is not the first hotel I stayed in Kyoto during this period as i stayed 2 different hotels in Kyoto during this trip, but this is the only hotel that asked to pay for a fee. Though fee is not huge, advise travellers to check clearly before booking. Location is not bad and alot of shops around it but do note car cannot be stopped directly in front of hotel as car could not enter the street as its all shops around it.

This is the first Oakwood brand hotels in Kansai region, whilst see around Tokyo. Very friendly and approachable staff will genuinely take care of you during your stay. Room cleanliness is impeccable and essential amenities are set such as comb and dental kit. High quality TV (The latest streaming service included) is available. I reckon that it would be comfortable for international travelers and hotel lovers because they know what they want to have. Meanwhile, for the first time guests here, they might be better to choose city hotels where the full service are offered. I’ll come back again when visiting Kyoto for several days. Thank you all staff for hard work under the restricted situation and special appreciation to MAYU san, Front Office Staff, who kindly has done concierge role to find the local restaurant, and also KIWAME san, Front Office Manager, who has been welcomed from arrival to departure moment.

Pros : Close to JR Kyoto station, just about 10 mins walk. Hotel looks quite new & very clean Rooms are spacious enough (considering Japan’s standard) Staff are generally friendly and always prompt to offer help. Very extensive breakfast buffet spread, literally one of the best we had before. Definitely worth booking a room package including breakfast. The only downside, the hotel tends to be a little overcrowded and bustling during our stay. It’s great for families but if you are looking for quiet or private getaway, then you may want to consider elsewhere.

It was a comfortable room with simple and necessary things. The roll curtain and bed cover in the room are different for each room, so I look forward to what room it will be every time. Amenities are in the lobby so it is a style to bring what you need. There is no bathtub and only shower. The coffee in the lobby is free at your favorite timing. I can read manga freely, so I was able to spend a leisurely time reading cartoons and working remotely in the lobby.

We had mixed reviews of this accomodation Pros - was a very large room two small doubles and a bunk perfect for families. Amenities are great with wifi, lots of kitchen utensils, stove, tea and coffee supplied, toothbrushes available, washing machine and tablets are provided with an inbuilt dryer system in the bathroom. Bathroom and shower area was also spacious. Beds are on the okay side but could be softer. The area itself is nice and quiet with a bus stop right out from we utilised every day, supermarket and Lawsons are across the road and you feel very safe. Would recommend for families. Cons - check in is in a different location 20minute taxi away so we had to catch a train to the check in office when arriving in Kyoto from Osaka, then a taxi to the accomodation after this which chewed up a few hours as we had to wait 45min in addition to check in due to busyness of the office. The area is a bit out of the way of everything next time I might consider staying at a different resi stay location closer to sights and facilities like shops etc. All the restaurants in the area seem to not open for breakfast until 11am so we had to have McDonald’s if we didn’t want to cook or travel too far for breakfast as we have a toddler (early riser). Same occurred at dinner time a lot of restaurants didn’t seem to be open the Monday or Tuesday we were there or opened too late for us (we travelled with a four year old). Our last disappointment was resi stay apparently have a strict not noise at night policy however another room partied until about 3am but there is no front desk or after hours phone number to call to complain / get the noise to stop. Was very frustrating as walls were very thin so we didn’t sleep very well. Overall we would stay with Resi Stay again but at another location due to Nishijin being a bit too out of the way for us.

Sora Niwa is conveniently located, and offers beautiful views of Kyoto. Love everything about this hotel! The rooms are beautiful. Spa amenities are top notch, with both indoor and outdoor pools. Location is awesome. Short walk to Nishiki market area. Walkable to Gion as well. Access via subway is easy and not too far, but will be a bit troublesome if it rains. Find subway exit 3 which is a handicap lift near Hotel Okura side for easier access with luggage. Short walk to convenience stores and food options.

Generally would like to rate 98/100 to this hotel! 👍🏻Location: Just right beside the subway station! Very convenient to travelers who are not familiar with Kyoto, especially after a tiring trip I just want to get to hotel as soon as possible without any hassles if possible. And the plus point is even this hotel is facing street but it’s quiet and no noise, besides that, along the street go straight down, got a lot of food and shops on shijo high street! 👍🏻Service: Service staff are friendly and professional! They are always keen to listen to your requests and answer your inquiries and follow your instructions accordingly! Surprisingly, they even went extra mile to make their customers more comfortable, I can feel they are taking their pride in their jobs which touches me. 👍🏻Cleanliness and Amenities also on point! The hotel is very new btw. The only 2 advices I would like to mention: 1. For my room type, there is difficulty to fit in big luggage, let alone for 2 persons so in that case please book bigger room. 2. Breakfast choice is quite limited, so if you had high expectation of hotel’ breakfast you might won’t be surprised. I still strongly recommend this hotel to people and will definitely visit it again as I really had a pleasant stay there.

It is the stay at Mitsui Gardens Hotel which is ３ times in Kyoto since entering this year. There was a concept in each hotel of the hotel, and this time it was a collaboration with the temple. It is also a service that makes you want to use. Overall it is compact and there are no group guests, so you can spend very quiet and calm. It is characterized by the hotel, and this time I had a Japanese food called ”Sangha Chirashi” on the plate. I am glad to be so concerned. Then the staff were very kind. After checking out, I noticed that I forgot to umbrella in the room, and when I told the front desk, I responded with a smile and went to take it immediately. This time I couldn't participate in the morning work of jokyo Ji Temple, but I will definitely participate next time.

The hotel in Kyoto, which is crowded all year round, is difficult to make a reservation at this time of spring break, and the price is soaring, but it is in it, and it is relatively reasonable to stay I think it is an old building, but it has been renewed little by little since I used it before, and it was clean and comfortable except for door lock and air conditioning. Booked 3 nights in Kyoto and decided on Forza Hotel Shijo Kawaramachi. Check-in was swift but the lady staff could not speak much English, though. The room was not very big and opening up 2 big pieces of luggage was quite challenging but manageable. There was a mini fridge but no safe deposit box. I like the access to free hot beverages in the lobby area. The location of the Hotel is great! It's right in the middle of the shopping street. There is an Exit 11 from Shijo Station that is right to the Hotel (a distance to walk, though) The famous Nishiki market is just a 2 minutes walk from the Hotel. Lots of shops and eateries near the Hotel. Across the road on the short distance right, you can catch buses (at the Bus Stop) to many sightseeing spots within Kyoto. Though this was not my original choice of Hotel in Kyoto, I found the stay in Forza Hotel cozy and comfortable. In fact, I love it! Will I stay at Hotel Forza Kyoto Shijo Kawaramachi again? Of course!

Checking in is quick, most of information needed already in the system, just touching the system screen to make sure your name and email etc, put the key card in, system generated your access keycard and printing out your room number. Staff guided us in the room and explained everything. Hotel is on the busy street, but our room is quite. 1000 yen per person for simple breakfast. Mainly bread, you need to make it yourself with bread maker, how to make your own bread- with japanese and english, plus a video too, so not too complicated.early morning 620am, hotel offers about 1 hour free tour, our guide tei chan is a beautiful young lady who has been great, learned some of history of Kyoto and couple of eateries. Earlier morning kyoto is very charming. Will recommend to friends coming to Kyoto for sure.

It’s a prime location, right next to the Yasaka West Tower Gate. I think Google Maps lead me to a parking lot, so good to note. We got in early and checked in our bags to storage, and went to visit Nishiki Market and then Kiyomizu-dera before heading back around 3P. They asked me during checkin what times I wanted to eat and if I had any food preferences. I was pleasantly surprised by this as I was planning to give anything I couldn’t eat to my boyfriend, but they made a menu just for my food preference and it was ALL delicious! Highly recommend the dinner (and allocate 2,5 hours for it since it’s multiple courses) and then visit the public bath on your way back to your room to sleep off the best meal ever. Wear the Yukata to dinner. As we checked out, he was nice enough to walk my luggage down the stairs and even hailed us a taxi. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE.

First review. This hotel is not cheap in Kyoto, but there are no reviews. I guess not many Chinese people stay there. This hotel is very clean with nice accessories and modern Japanese accommodations located in quiet neighborhood away from constant tourist crowds but at the same time in walking distance from the emperor palace and right across from Nijo Castle. It is only 10-15 minutes away on taxi from Gion district and other main tourist attractions that Kyoto can offer. I also would like mention Garrya Nijo Castle Kyoto staff that made us feel very welcomed and specifically to Timothy Hui (front office manager) who went beyond his duties and make special accommodations for us during our visit in Kyoto.

There are two rooms on the first floor, a living room, a dining room, two bathing rooms, two toilets, and the washing is in the corridor, although it is small. , But the space is compact and the planning is very reasonable. By the way, there is a small courtyard, but only one of the rooms can be seen. Just open the door, and it is cool to live in this room. The second floor didn't go up much. It seemed that there were three or four rooms. The air conditioner and heater in the room are very powerful, so I can't sleep on it all night, or it will be too dry. Living here really feels like home. I forgot the brand of shampoo and shower gel, because I have stayed in several hotels and remembered it, but it is really good, it seems to be orange-flavored and very natural. If you have time, if you have been walking outside for a long time, you can experience a local bathing house, which is a domestic bathhouse. Dianping search is good, just look at the high score and not far away. I went to experience it and encountered very strange things, but it may be very common in the local area. Accommodation very close to Kiyomizudera Temple! After walking only a few meters, we found ourselves on the slope of Sansanhan. It would be quite difficult to carry our luggage there, so it’s best to ask for a ride. If you want to experience the authentic Japanese suite life, this room is a good choice. Moreover, the landlord has kept the house very clean and comfortable. The kitchen counter seems to have not been contaminated by oil fumes. The bed is soft and hard to sleep in, and the pillows are dry and wet. The separate bathroom and toilet also has a small bathtub, which is deep enough but cannot be stretched out. There is a washing machine in the exclusive room, a shelf hanging on the bathtub after washing, and a bathroom dryer that can dry the clothes in one night. Remember to check whether there is a text message or email with a pre-check-in notice before checking in!!! If the landlord is not waiting at the counter, you have to find the key safe box at the entrance by yourself when you arrive on site. I had a great deal on this hotel and was very happy with my choice. The room was super clean and more spacious than I expected. No closet for your clothes, though. there is one drawer next to the bed, for some small stuff. Two electricity sockets and 2 usb inlets per bed. The beds were very comfy! Shower and bath were perfect. Reception was very accommodating. The room has a water heater and fridge. Couple of things notable: Station Tokyo is a 10 minutes walk, if you walk briskly. I thought the station was closer by, so that was a misconception on my part. Breakfast is very Japanese: many choices, but definitely not for vegetarians. I was glad our neighbors spent their evenings talking and not much else, because we could hear them talk, the walls were that thin. No safe in the room. All in all, I would personally choose an hotel nearer to the station, but if you don't mind the walk, the price and quality of the hotel couldn't be better, that's why 4 stars.

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner and the best breakfasts of our lives in their dining room, and blissful riverside happy hours in their cafe. Our comfortable room had all the amenities, and a soothing minimalist aesthetic. The Suiran staff is spectacular: thoughtful, gracious, attentive. Through our years of planning and days of enjoyment, we were guided by Suiran’s chief concierge, Hiromi Maruyama. Her kindness, patience, and expertise added greatly to the success of our time in Kyoto. Her suggestions and insights, and good spirits were a beacon shining our way. We are indebted to her for her efforts on our behalf.
