Travelodge Kyoto Shijo Kawaramachi

Kawaramachi
Centrally Located with a Few Drawbacks Travel Lodge is located on a shopping street with plenty of places to eat nearby. It’s also within walking distance of Gion, making it a great base for exploring. The location offers easy access to both bus and metro lines, making transportation convenient, and it’s not a far walk to reach either option. They also provide luggage storage, which is helpful. However, be aware that rooms are only cleaned every 4th day, so if you’re staying fewer than four nights (like we did), you won’t have a clean room and you’ll need to grab supplies and exchange towels at the main desk. The hotel breakfast, served at a neighboring restaurant, was a bit of a letdown. It mainly consisted of bread and some oily sides, though the coffee and drink options were good. The room itself was typical for a Japanese hotel—compact, but clean, with a hot shower. Despite the small size, after a long day of walking, you’ll sleep fine! Just keep in mind that check-in is at 3 PM, and check-out is at 10 AM, so plan accordingly!
Fauchon Hotel Kyoto - A Member of the Leading Hotels of the World

I had an excellent stay at Fauchon. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality. The hotel staff were also incredibly attentive and polite throughout our stay. My room was small but comfortable, featuring modern and luxurious amenities that were stylishly pink in colour and comfortable bedding. The attention to detail in the room was impressive, with thoughtful touches including a whole array of complimentary cookies and cake. Breakfast was served as a set menu and selection was limited and basic but expertly prepared and presented. The hotel's location was also perfect for me because it is situated right in the heart of Kyoto yet away from the crowded spots with excellent access to public transportation. The bus station is right in front of the hotel, the nearest train station is about 10 mins walk and the hotel is approx 15 mins walk to Kawaramachi Street (shopping area). Just behind our hotel is the river and all the restaurants. Our room has the mountain view.
Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Sanjo PREMIER

Kawaramachi
The hotel is in a good location, with new facilities. The room has poor lighting, so please pay attention when booking. In addition, there is no half-price breakfast for children, and the key is that there are few varieties and they are not delicious. I would like to remind you that 100 meters to the right of the entrance is the century-old coffee shop, which has a first-class breakfast schedule and locals line up every day.

Nijo Castle
The location is good, 3 minutes walk from Nijo subway station, there are famous yakitori and barbecue restaurants nearby, 2 soft drinks are given with room booking, just right for shopping. The hotel is quite fashionable, with many European and American guests staying, they like to drink at the bar. The hotel is also large enough, and luggage can be stored for free after check-out. Service: The front desk was very enthusiastic and printed a map of the surrounding area for me, thank you very much
GOOD NATURE HOTEL KYOTO

Kawaramachi
A stylish and beautifully designed hotel with a 5star all rounded service experience. Its location is perfect, a 5-8min walk to the train station with many key attractions and restaurants within walking distance. I tried the spa service which was very relaxing and the masseur got my back pain sorted which was much needed. I would definitely recommend anyone to stay at Good Nature Hotel when visiting Kyoto- it’s a great home away from home to come back to after a day of exploring Kyoto.

Gion/Kiyomizu Temple
I happened to make a reservation here for a quick trip to Osaka. I really liked that it had a Japanese feel ^^ It was great that the toilet and shower room (bathtub/bathroom style) were separate!! It's not a kimono, but a long dress-like(?) nightgown is prepared haha. I was very satisfied with my one night stay in Kyoto! Breakfast is served as a full Japanese meal, but I came to find out that you have to make a reservation 3 days in advance. It's a shame I didn't get to experience it. I definitely have to come back here on my next trip to Kyoto^^ The kids also say they like it a lot~~~
