Ski-Inn RukaVillage

Great accommodation and centrally located. We stayed as a family in a 2 bedroom apartment and it came equipped with full kitchen, lovely seating area, double shower and sauna. The views from the apartment were amazing and with it being so central getting to all local amenities was very easy

The hotel/apartments were great, amazing location, fully equipped apartment... The only downside was the food, we stayed half board so had breakfast in the Colorado bar, the selection was very limited and they only had one 2 slice toaster which was very frustrating. The staff were also rude and very unhelpful. Dinner was in the piste restaurant, staff were very friendly and there was a kids play area which was great. However the food selection was very poor: 2 meat options, one veg and one potato and the only drinks available were water and coffee. Each meal worked out at £26 per person per night, it was definitely not worth that when you can buy a large pizza over the road for £14! We have already booked again for next year but this time self-catering!

Second visit to Ruka and stay at this hotel booked through crystal. Location is brilliant. Meters from the gondola and all the shops and restaurants. Rooms are clean tidy and perfect set up with fridge microwave hob kettle etc, everything but an oven in the 2 bed studio. Welcomed the bath and sauna after a ski. Only real criticisms are that the boot room is a bit tight and whilst there is a bar downstairs, there is no real reception area. Bar and restaurant is western themed and a little dark as a result. Breakfast was basic but nice. Could do with more than an a two slot toaster serving the whole restaurant. If I was staying in Ruka village again I would probably comeback here. Kept checking the web cam each night and saw the northern lights twice from the top of slope 6 behind the gondola, Homemade ring doughnuts from the cafe in the centre of town are not to be missed

The apartment was in a good location in the middle of Ruka village. We liked the apartment's own sauna and balcony. The equipment of the apartment was also good. There were a lot of signs of use everywhere, such as the bathroom cabinet and countertop. The sounds of the party crowd and the thump of the bass could be heard clearly in the room so if you're looking for a quiet place, I wouldn't recommend this at least on the weekend. Breakfast was nothing special, only a limited basic selection.

We stayed for a week in February 2022 as advanced skiers. These apartments were wonderful. Spacious, modern and cosy. The sauna was a delightful treat. All apartments have a utility area which was unexpected. The bathroom was warm and extremely clean. The entire hotel is essentially brand new. No key required but instead a code is used which is modern and helpful. Wonderful breakfast and dinner options available. The hotel catered extremely well for myself as a vegetarian and my partner who is vegan. A particular mention to Yona who worked in the restaurant who was extremely attentive and went above and beyond to help us, particularly with allergies within our party. We could ski right up to the hotel entrance, next to the Gondola, with the locker room metres away as well as a mini-supermarket. We could not have wished for a more perfect stay. We have previously stayed in Ruka Village but enjoyed Ruka Valley even more.

Went there with crystalski and was shocked we didn’t have to check in or get keys. Received a letter from the rep stating our 5 digit numeric code to unlock the apartment door which was really simple and very welcome. Also had a code for our individual ski locker downstairs. The apartment was very functional but well laid out. Bed was fine but pillows were small. Make sure you check the drawers as the extra towels are in there. There is no housekeeping all week. We had a studio (rukavillage30 on the official website), so we were entitled to breakfast in the attached Colorado bar. Breakfast was ok but the same each day. Some people came from other apartment blocks but nobody ever questioned if we were entitled to a breakfast. It was very relaxed. The drying cupboard in the apartment was really handy. The sauna was great too. It seemed like everything was well~thought out to make your stay as relaxed as possible. Use the supermarket for cheaper beer and snacks. At first, we thought the Finns were a bit miserable, as they never went out of their way to be friendly but as soon as you talked to them, they changed their attitude and were very chatty. I guess they are more reserved than we are. All in all, the apartments were ideal, especially being a few paces from the gondola and main chairlift. Worth a trip but I doubt we will return as the 30 runs aren’t enough to keep you interested over 6 days of skiing. They were relatively easy compared to the Alps but don’t let that put you off because everyone appreciates a piste to themselves at some point! We paid to see the northern lights but saw nothing. Decided to just walk outside at midnight onto blue piste 6 and saw an amazing aurora on two separate nights for free.
