What a divine place. It’s chic yet relaxed with an understated luxurious vibe. It was created with love - once a home that grew into a resort and the love shines through. I could have stayed for weeks. The views. The ocean. The beach. The food the staff. So much to offer and executed to perfection. Loved it!!

Sharazād Boutique Hotel in Zanzibar offers a tranquil beachfront escape with stunning ocean views. Located on the southeast coast near Jambiani, it blends rustic charm with modern comforts. We had a warm welcome from Simon! Thank you for making us feel at home. The rooms are beautifully designed, with options from garden bungalows to ocean-view suites. The relaxed atmosphere, lush tropical gardens, and attentive service make it perfect for couples, family or those seeking a peaceful retreat. With easy access to the beach and nearby attractions, it’s ideal for a serene getaway.

The hotel is located next to the beach. The property is well protected by guards. The rooms have a basic equipment (e.g. ventilator and no AC) and are clean. The restaurant offers a nice seaside view. The quality of the food is ok. Service orientation seems not to be the primary goal of the hotel management. For instance, the check-in process took ages, if you order something you have the feeling of disturbing the staff and attention to details is simply not existing (forgot birthday). Overall, we can not recommend the hotel. You will find better value for your money in adjacent places.

We (2 adults and 2 children 16/14) have a brilliant 9 night stay at Sharazad. Such a beautiful place. The rooms were well equipped and comfortable beds. Very clean and the housekeeping staff were amazing. The restaurant had excellent choice of food and quality, with good service and always happy staff willing to serve you. It was a relaxed place, we tried a few otehr restaurants up and down the beach too. A special mention to Monica who was the manager, always happy to talk, offer advice and make sure your time at Sharazad was all you were hoping for. It felt a very safe place, and even those locals on the beach selling trips of souvenirs were very pleased just to talk to you-no hassle-pole pole. We went on 2 trips organised through the hotel to the turtles and snorkelling very reasonably priced. Couldn't ask for more-and we will be back as soon as we can.

Fantastic place! We spent part of our honeymoon here and it was absolute paradise! Fantastic beach, great rooms, amazing service and really good food! Because of the honeymoon, we even received a bottle of sparkling wine in our room, a private romantic dinner and a sailing tour with snorkeling. Simply outstanding!

The Sharazad Hotel was a special place for us on our honeymoon after being on a safari in Tanzania as it was the perfect place to chill and relax after being in the jungle. With its super soft white sands and incredible scenery it really was such a zen place. It has 4 different pools to choose from depending what mood you're in. There are king size beds and hammocks dotted around the complex to chill out and read your book in the sun. The food at the hotel was incredible and we had plenty of sea food which was caught fresh daily. (highly recommend the tuna steak!) All the staff at the hotel were super friendly and happy to help and go the extra mile to make our stay the best possible honeymoon ever! They even gave me a birthday surprise while at the restaurant! We also ate at the Rock, and we visited a couple of local bars just down the beach from the hotel which we enjoyed. We did a half day to Stone Town, which was really interesting. We also did the Nakupenda Isles day trip through the hotel, and sadly this was the only downside to the holiday. I think we were unlucky booking a day when there was a huge tour going and the weather wasn't great, so it felt really busy, rushed and not at all like the special day out we hoped for. It didn't ruin our holiday at all but we wished we hadn't chosen that tour. Would recommend to anyone! Thanks again Sharazad team!
