Beautiful sunset, good bar & meals, Amazing facility (literally everywhere is more than great) and nice hospitality. I should have booked here at least 3 nights. If you want to stay near famous beaches, then tourist attractions are not in walking distance, but you dont even need to go, staying in this resort is perfect enough. GOOD VIBE!!

Home a week and we miss this hotel so much. From the friendly staff who could never do enough to help and the beautiful surroundings, I don’t know where to compliment first. The room - we were in a garden deluxe room in the new block, it was huge, comfortable and always kept immaculate. Air-con was perfect as we could set the temperature to just the right level. Bed was huge and very comfortable. The restaurants were great with a good selection of foods. Compliments to the chefs who produced great meals every day. Special shout out to the Baha’i restaurant where the food and staff were always amazing. The bars were like little oasis, each with their own vibe and always with a smile and a welcome. The grounds are kept impeccably well and again, the ground staff always had a smile and a ‘jambo’. The trips were well organised, we only did the Stonetown and Prison Island trip but we spoke with other guests who enjoyed some of the other excursions. The whole feel of this resort is to ensure that you are relaxed…..it does this perfectly. There were always loungers somewhere, regardless of where we decided to stop and I can’t finish this review without commenting on the beautiful family of red colobus monkeys which live on the resort. They do not pay much attention to guests but will sit next to you, or on you (as we witnessed) it is such a special sight to have these cute things living alongside you. There have been negative comments about the beach, it is not just an expanse of white sand, there is seaweed grown and farmed by the local ladies and the tide goes out for miles and then comes right in so you can swim straight off the steps of the jetty. We found it amazing. Finally, there were no “beasties”, mosquitoes or anything else that bites…..this is possibly the first holiday anywhere tropical we have been that we haven’t had some sort of bite. The guys on the beach don’t hassle you, they will say hello, ask where you’re from and offer to show you things or sell you things but they are really friendly and understand if you want to be on your own. Oh…..and take a wee trip on the small wooden fishing boats that sit just off the jetty, it’s a wonderful experience sailing along the coast a little.

This hotel should have 5* instead of 4*. There is no lack of anything. Rooms are cleaned twice a day, it’s clean, there are no mosquitoes. Food is DELICIOUS. it is often said that on all inclusive food is the same, taste the same etc and here everything has strong, different taste. Things are various, not the same everyday. Staff is very kind and helpful. There are different rooms — the best are bungalows but as I have seen — there are new, modern rooms, not in a suahili style. There is enough space by the pools and cocktails are super nice!! I need to come back here, this is real paradise ❤️❤️

I am a single disabled traveller. The staff here could not have been more accommodating and I appreciate everything they did for me while on holiday for 2 weeks. I arrived about 10am and the reception staff were very welcoming. There is a shower room and toilets to use until you can check in and all inclusive started from arrival until the time I left. I was able to check in to my room early and take a much needed rest. The beds were super comfortable, aircon and fan adequate, shower pressure was good, toiletries provided although I had my own. A fridge is available on request which I requested and was given swiftly. Rooms cleaned daily and a turn down service and mosquito spray every night was perfect. I didn’t get bitten once while in Zanzibar but I did also take a plug in bug killer too. My room was not one of the newly refurbished so was a little rough around the edges… tiling could have been finished better, mosquito nets had a couple of holes and some that were patched up, fraying on the floor mat and the outside seating a little worn but in a sea view room, right by the bar and pool I was more than comfortable and my small issues were non issues while sat on the porch in the morning with a coffee Entertainment was ok although it’s not something I care about, acrobats, dancers, live music, volley ball and aqua aerobics were some I saw. The animation team were lovely though and even when there were no events on some made an effort to interact with me and other guests and just have a nice chat sharing stories and talking about life of the island which I loved. The main restaurant staff went above and beyond by reserving me a downstairs table every day and arranging breakfast in my room and again even though being busy they were super friendly and had time for a quick chat giving that personal feel to the holiday. Food was spot on for me, lots of salads and fresh meat and fish, there was something for everyone. I would like to have seen a few more traditional foods or a traditional dish of the day with some history to in and information on local spices and ingredients used. Customer relations were great in resolving a couple of small issues I had swiftly and making the effort to follow up and check if there is anything else they can do, a special shout out to Joy who was lovely! Snacks could have been better with the all inclusive. They consisted of mostly bread based things with no protein and some pineapple. Drinks were fine, ice coffee from the beach bar was my favourite! All bar staff were lovely too. Yes the tide goes out quite far but you could walk around and explore the wildlife in the pools left behind or access the sea by the jetty. Beaches were small with the tide in but again adequate due to this not being a huge hotel. Always sunbeds and seating available. The safari booked through the hotel was a bit rough for me and my bad back but still a memorable experience and well worth the price. Plane ride back from safari is super

We spent 2 wonderful weeks here. Our flight times were awful, both landing and departing at 4.30 am which meant we had to wait for our room to be ready until after lunchtime, but on the plus side we had our room right until we got picked up at 12.30am on the last day. You also receive all inclusive food and drinks as soon as you arrive until you depart. Upon arrival we were provided with a changing/shower room to use. Even at 6.30 am the heat felt intense, especially since coming from UK November weather, so it was nice to get changed, have a mosey around the grounds and then have breakfast. We had a deluxe sea view suite which was spotless, spacious and had everything we needed. It was cleaned daily. Unusual not to have any actual channels on the TV, but you have access to apps such as Netflix, YouTube etc. Air con worked well and the mini fridge was so cold it turned drinks in to slushies! We enjoyed the food. It was varied with international and local dishes. As with many places I've visited in the world, the temperature of some of the dishes could have been hotter, but the standard was very good overall. It was nice to have the choice between the main buffet and the Indian buffet for a change of scenery. I did expect some of the local dishes to be a little more fiery with Zanzibar being the spice island, but the flavours were delicious. The drinks service in both restaurants was very good. We also ate in the a la carte restaurant and found the food really good at excellent prices and with great service. On the days we weren't out on trips we spent the day on the jetty. It was lovely to sunbathe comfortably in the breeze and stare out at the stunning view. We are not really entertainment people, but we were in the bar on karaoke night and saw the acrobatic show too. All very good. The entertainment team were not pushy and liked to have a chat to practice their English. All the staff were friendly, polite and respectful. Everyone we passed in the hotel gave you a 'jambo'. I cannot praise the staff highly enough. Too many to mention individually, but my favourites were the boys at the jetty bar. Tipping is not expected and I didn't see much of it going on, but with such low wages in Zanzibar the odd dollar here and there is gratefully accepted. It was entertaining to see the monkeys just hanging around the hotel, living in harmony amongst the guests. We did the Stonetown and Prison island trip in one day which was good to learn the history and see some culture. We also went on the Safari Blue trip which was a fabulous day. Highly recommended. The only other outing was a taxi to Paje about 20 mins away. It was nice to have a wander on the beach and see the shops. Before we went I was a little concerned that there was nowhere you could actually walk out to, but it didn't bother us in the slightest. We were so chilled out and relaxed we didn't need to go anywhere other than the trips we did. The weather was fantastic. The forecast had pre

We stayed at the Reef & Beach Resort for four nights, and our experience was excellent. Check-in was quick, and the manager, Funel, kindly upgraded us to an ocean-view room, which was a fantastic start to our stay. Location The hotel is a bit away from town, so having a vehicle is useful. However, taxis are readily available just outside the hotel, making it easy to get around. As for the beachfront, low tide lasts until around 3:30 pm, but after that, you can swim by the Getty Bar, where the water is clear and amazing. Food We were on an all-inclusive package, so we had access to fruit juice, drinks from the bar, and a wide variety of local dishes at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The restaurant felt a bit small for the hotel’s size, but it still provided a good dining experience. Indian restaurant needed more spices. Facilities The hotel has two beautiful swimming pools, one of which is by the sea with plenty of sunbeds, making it a lovely spot to relax. Room Our room was comfortable, clean, and equipped with a mosquito net, a cozy bed, and a safe. However, the shower water was a bit salty, which could be improved. Entertainment The entertainment and music at the bar were excellent, especially the fashion show put on by the hotel staff. It added a fun touch to our evenings. Staff A special thank you to Funel and Said, the guest relations officer, for their exceptional service, as well as to the warm and friendly restaurant team. The staff member at the Indian restaurant bar (forgot to take his name) made a mango lassy for the first time they always go over and above to make your holiday a memorable. Their kindness truly made a difference in our stay. Overall A few minor drawbacks we encountered a few power outages during our stay, and the network connectivity wasn’t the best, and the water on the shower is salty The standout quality of this hotel is its staff, who provide outstanding service and make the experience memorable.

We have just returned home from a wonderful 8 night stay at Reef and Beach resort. 1st praise goes to all the staff, absolutely wonderful team, so helpful, polite and welcoming. The resort was clean and very well maintained, the photos online do not do the resort justice. The jetty was definitely my favourite location with easy access into the beautiful sea, plenty of sun beds and the bar in the middle to cool down and get some great cocktails. We had a garden room and it was a great size with plenty of shelves to store our belongings. Also a good sized bathroom and dressing area. We had two glass bottles of water that were topped up everyday, thankfully no single use plastic. Opening the door in the morning and seeing the Red Colobus monkeys was an added bonus. They were entertaining yet very laid back. They didn’t try to grab anything from us. We were so lucky to see a few bush babies as well. The food in the main restaurant was very good with plenty of variety but I did love the recently opened Indian restaurant Bahari. I’m a huge fan of Indian food and it hit the spot. Overall we loved our stay and would definitely highly recommend Reef and Beach. To all the staff, Astane Sana
