3-Star Hotels in Kushiro

Shin-Akan is obviously an old hotel. The buffet is OK. The highlight is that there is a large public outdoor swimming pool upstairs. It is mixed for men and women. You need swimsuits. The hotel has prepared them. You can wear theirs. There are swimsuits in the bathroom, or you can wear your own. The open-air hot spring is quite good. You basically take a bath in the hotel's hot spring. The bathroom is very small. In winter, Lake Akan is completely frozen. Maybe because of the weather, you can hardly see any scenery. It is more fun to play snowmobiles and snow sleds. The hotel has a very big problem, because there is a self-service grill for dinner, and many people will grill meat. The restaurant is completely open on the first floor, making the whole building full of the smell of barbecue, which is very bad.

You can see it when you exit Kushiro Station, across the street, a big sign! Basically all budget hotels are available, except that the rooms are small and the luggage can be opened. Although there are not many types of breakfast, there are meat, eggs, milk, and vegetables (broccoli 🥦), and the taste is not bad! If you only stay for one night, you must choose a hotel close to the station. In winter, the bus to see the lake also departs from the door. You can walk a little further for meals, and there are still many choices!

Excellent location, right in front of Nusamai Bridge and walking distance to the fisherman wharf. There are a lot of eateries around the hotel, all with pretty good reviews. Breakfast was great too, lots of selection and taste good. The only thing I don't quite like was the room. Booked a 3 bedded room, room was clean, no view, basic amenities, nothing special about the room. Air con is controlled by a centralised system, I went in June, and it was too warm at night. I feel the price is quite expensive for the room.

This is an old hotel that opened in 1976. The overall facilities have the feeling of that era. Although it is old, it is still relatively clean and hygienic. Considering that labor costs in Japan are relatively high, it is acceptable not to provide daily hotel cleaning for multiple-day stays. Those who mind this can avoid this hotel. The breakfast environment is very good. On the 10th floor of the hotel, there is a very good view overlooking Kushiro, which feels like a dream back to the Showa era. The space of the triple room is relatively large because it is set up in the corner of the building. I think this is good.

The hotel is located right next to the JR Station and within 5 min walking distance to the famous Washo Market. There is a public bath within the hotel for use. It is opened from 1800-0200h and 0600-1000 h. The breakfast provided was of good quality, though the selection can be better.

Very cost-effective hotel, the room is clean and comfortable, there are two washing machines available in the lobby on the first floor, the parking lot needs to be paid separately, but it is very cheap, although the breakfast options are not many but very delicious, the Lulu station and the coin dance bridge can be reached on foot, there is a convenience store opposite the hotel.

Good location. 5-min walk from the JR station. Staff could not speak English. Room was very small. The hotel almost kissed the building of next door for those rooms below 5th floor. I was on the 4th floor, hence, I could only see the outside environment from a very narrow gap. WIFI was not strong in every part of the room. Be patient to walk around for the stronger WIFI connection. Not many shops around.

It was located less than 5 minutes walk from Kushiro Station and was close to the station bus terminal, so it was convenient to go to various places in the city. The room was large and the facilities were sufficient for one person.

I was able to stay for 3 nights with peace of mind. I had intended to request non-smoking, but it turned out to be a smoking room, and when I entered the room, I felt uncomfortable. I had to put up with it until it started to smell and roused me for a while. Everyone comes back late from a night out and it's a problem if you shout loudly... I wish the hotel staff would be careful in advance...

This hotel is very new, local next to the bus terminal and actually part of the hotel is used for the bus office / terminal. They provide free drinks (including alcohol) from 3pm to 9pm in the restaurant, enjoy when it is available. The breakfast has a limited choice, but it is a buffet. The public bath is shared between men and women with time slots. Around 300 yen for washing but drying is free. The room was rather small but they put a huge double decker bed with a king size bed in the bottom, it was a comfortable sleep but not much room to move in the room. Key is using a number lock system which is quite interesting. A super huge TV in the room mounted to the wall. My room is facing east and I able to see sunrise in the morning. Note that there are quite a few pot holes from the train station to the hotel. During that day, when I move my luggage to the hotel, the wheels get stuck into a new filled pot hole and travellers need to be aware.
