We arrived around 10pm so it was dark, but my first impression was that it had a bit of a "chicken hostel" (a hostel where you can bring your own food) vibe.
The lobby and rooms had low ceilings and it wasn't a particularly clean hotel. However, the people staying at the hotel were not the types mentioned above,
the Japanese breakfast was very delicious and looking at the other guests, most of whom were businessmen, which was reassuring.
The location was excellent, with the station a 7-9 minute walk away and Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter only a 14-15 minute walk away, even though it was early in the morning.
