1. The room is not small, but it is very old. The smell is very strong. A lot of air freshener has been sprayed, which mixed together and made it smell even worse. This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in in Japan.
2. Especially the person selling this hotel did not clearly indicate the number of guests, misleading consumers. Intentionally or unintentionally? I then traveled to Japan for a full two weeks and the other hotels I booked did not have the same problem.
3. There is a big difference between the hotel pictures and the actual hotel.
4. Ctrip customer service staff kept calling and disturbing me during my trip to Japan. It not only disturbs my travel abroad, but also affects my mood. Besides, who is responsible for the mobile phone bill?

美観地区に近くロケーションがいいのと、何と言ってもこのお部屋の広さは他のホテルでは望めません、清潔感があり、レストラン八間蔵の雰囲気も大好き、また泊まらせて頂きます。

This hotel has huge rooms, friendly staff members and is very well located. It’s an older style hotel but that works in its favour. We loved our room which had views over the town. The room was extremely clean and the bathroom was big with a great shower.

We had a meal at the restaurant in the hotel. It was very expensive compared to most other Japanese restaurants. However, we couldn’t find many other places to eat so thought why not as the menu looked ok. The meal was awful, meat fatty , no rice or potatoes to accompany it . We ordered a glass of wine and when they poured it it was roughly the size of a sherry glass. Do not eat here and make the same mistake. I wish we had ventured out and found an alternative.

Very friendly staff and very helpful. The beds were the best we’ve experienced in Japan. Breakfast was very good and good strong coffee. Shower was great and the toilet had a heated seat very spacious room,overall great location and exceptional staff. Would definitely recommend.

Great location. A block away from the tourist area but far enough away to be away from the noise. Restaurants and convenience stores are a couple-minute walk away. This is obviously a hotel designed in the 80s with the large tall lobby and all the room doors facing the open air. You have the glass elevator and those in the lobby can people watch going up and down. Yes, the furnishings are a tad dated but well-maintained. We were amazed at the size of the room. The size was more like North American size than Japanese size. The bathroom and closet area ALONE could be the same size as some business hotel rooms I've been to in Japan. The Internet was fast. No problems with Netflix. The amenities were decent. If you need anything more, you can replenish in the lobby. Our room package included breakfast. It was decent enough. (Separate review) We got the parking space right beside the front doors, make sure you inform the front desk of your license plate. They do monitor. While I doubt we will come back to Kurashiki if I were, we would choose this hotel again.
