Howard Johnson Flower City Hotel Kunming Reviews

Hotel is nice and convenient. Everything are in good standard. There is flower city (flower dome) next door so can take a look. I like the rice noodle shop next to the hotel, it's beautiful restaurant with good food&good taste&good price.

The massage/spa wasn’t really a spa. It was hard to find and they were not very receptive.

Lovely hotel but they tried to kick me out of the room because I hadn’t been in China for 6 months. I’ve actually been here for 14 months but returned to Uk in July. Nowhere in the policy does it say this and I felt completely discriminated against. It was a stressful experience so foreigners please beware!

Stay away from this hotel. It’s location is far away from anything worth visiting in Kunming. The hotel closed the gym, spa, and mall without informing guests prior to bookings. There was no explanation for why any of these amenities were closed. Lights in the hallways are turned off, the restaurant has very loud high pitched noise making it difficult to enjoy your breakfast. Gates to the hotel are closed except for one making you have to walk incredibly far to the front door. Staff spoke no English and were not willing to use translation programs to help. Overall this was my worst hotel experience in China. Stay away!

Hotel is near to airport with latest standards of hotels. I had bad experience with my request to add breakfast with payment, unfortunately hotel has not provided breakfast. Employees are very friendly and helpful

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good but only chinese, just take note if you’re a fussy eater. The room was very clean but smelled like smoke. There were “no smoking” signs everywhere but even the hallway smelled like smoke. This s not conducive for a non smoker as it would not allow one to have a good night of sleep.

The orchid room I stayed in was clean and spacious, with no odor and very quiet. The hotel service was very good, and they greeted me when I entered and left. Fresh fruit was delivered every day, and milk was delivered in the evening. I will stay here again next time.

The whole family went on a self-driving tour in Yunnan, and on the last day we stayed at Howard Johnson Hotel in City of Flowers. It is very close to the airport, and it is convenient to get there in just over ten minutes. We also rented a car. The overall facilities are complete, the room is clean, and the environment is elegant. In particular, the hotel service is thoughtful, and the Golden Key housekeeper Ms. Duan is warm and thoughtful. My elderly family members praised her service very much!

We originally booked two superior twin rooms, but our baby chose the Pet Room. As we did not consult the hotel in advance, we found out after arriving that it was convenient for people with pets. The front desk was very considerate and let us cancel the room and book the Superior King Room instead, which was more cost-effective. We did not cancel the room due to personal reasons. There are two adults and three children in our family. We were also given a breakfast voucher and tickets to the Botanical Gardens in the City of Flowers. We stayed in several luxury hotels this time, and the service of the waiters in this hotel was the best. As we had a lot of luggage, the waiter helped us deliver the luggage after checking in. During our stay, every time a waiter passed by, he would say hello. Families without pets are not recommended to stay in the Pet Room. No matter how we cleaned it, it still smelled like pets. This was also the result of us not changing it ourselves. In short, it was very good!

I forgot the name of the manager, she was very nice. Seeing that I came alone and didn't order breakfast, she also cared about whether I had breakfast or not, which made me feel very warm. The hotel is clean and tidy, the price is cheap, and the service is also very good. Recommended to stay

The hotel is close to the airport and a little far from the city, so it is fine for self-driving tours. The facilities are quite good, the room is also very large, especially the shower is great. The breakfast variety is very rich.

A very cozy hotel, very comfortable to stay in, the room hygiene is in place, the mouthwash cups, water cups, and slippers are all disinfected and individually packaged, and the bedding can also make me feel at ease, finally I don't have to use my own bedding. The service attitude of the staff is very 👌, especially the hotel manager Duan, who is responsible, enthusiastic, careful and patient.
