Grand Hyatt Kunming

Grand Hyatt is strategically located in Kunming city, it has an underground access to metro and a walk link to shopping mall. The room is spacious and toilet is well designed. In-house movies and tv channels are plenty to choose. The hotel’s facilities such as indoor pool, gym and steam room are clean and usable. Price is a bit high, as our room does not cover breakfast. Suggestion:- - provide some Chinese tea bag - if room was booked with kids, pre-prepared extra towel and toiletries will leave a personalised impression to hotel guests - liaison with shopping mall not to close the gateway to hotel access link too early when the mall is closing at the end of day, otherwise hotel shoppers have to walk around big round the building to return.

Grand Hyatt, Kunming is very new about 3months old. The room is spacious and has fantastic showers and bath tub. Lighting is slightly on the dimmer. The hotel is connected to a swanky high end mall on the 3rd floor (10am to 10pm). Very convenient access. Superb service from the front desk to the Chinese restaurant. We wish to thank Bianca for her promptness in addressing our needs and questions relating to the hotel and Kunming highlights. Amy from the Yun Xiang Restaurant is also very helpful.

My definition of luxury, this brand new hotel strikes the perfect balance of elegance and simplicity as art deco style. Bath Rooms are tastefully decorated with all the high quality amenities. You'd come to expect from a 5+ star hotel including automatic black out curtains and one touch lighting control. The restaurant/breakfast area was outstanding. The breakfast was one of the best I experienced with a selection not found in any other 5 star hotel. Staff was super friendly and helpful. From the moment we booked the room we were greeted with the most friendly staff. Emily and Wan (in the Front desk/Concierge ) gave us a smooth check in, and provided us with a great dining guide that we wanted to explore. They are exceptional! I would highly recommend and will definitely go back for these stellar services and amenities.

Hotel design is aesthetically pleasing, warm and inviting for us especially after a day of transit from Shangri-la. The staff are friendly and one of the managers was quick to explain the design principles behind the foyer entrance. There is not much English signage for most meals including buffet breakfast so foreign guests might require some extra assistance. Our experience at the Chinese restaurant was amazing too! The Peking Duck was one of the best, and its really heartwarming to see one of the male staff patiently explaining the menu to an elderly gentleman that was dining alone. It provided a dimension of depth and warmth that left a lasting impression for us :)

Just stayed at this brand new hotel and it was great. From lobby to rooms and restaurants the design is very warm and modern. The rooms themselves are spacious and we had an amazing view of Kunming. I was also very impressed by the breakfast, all fresh ingredients from the fruit juices, to the caprese salad (available in buffet) and smoked salmon…you could also order some dishes made like Eggs Benedict or even local favorites. All tasted great, the coffee was amazing! Will come back !

We really liked the rooms and design of the hotel. Everything is brand new and the rooms are big and extremely comfortable. The location is great, walking distance to the old town. Breakfast was delicious, with ample choice of Chinese and Western food, some of which is cooked at the moment by a team of chefs. Service was good and some members of the staff spoke English, which was helpful given that unfortunately we don’t speak Chinese. We wished that there was a sauna and, at breakfast, the label of food was also translated in English with a clear indication of which options are suitable for vegetarians.
