"My room had a beautiful and relaxing view. Every morning, I woke up to the stunning sight of Mount Kinabalu right outside the window. The place is very child-friendly, with safe and fun areas for kids to play. It’s perfect for a family getaway, as everything is well-suited for both adults and children. The surrounding scenery is peaceful and green, making the whole stay feel calm and refreshing. The cool weather added to the comfort, making it a really enjoyable trip. And for sure, the staff were very kind and helpful, which made the experience even better."

"This stay is within the KL national park. So to get to the reception you will need to pay for thr entrance fee to the park.
My intention was to stay for one night before going back to town.
This place is meant for hikers who stay for the night to prepare themselves for the climb up to kk peak
The floor Is wooden and when people walks , there are lots of noise. So if you are expecting a good quiet rest, probably it's not a good place for you.
People get up very early to climb, so expect another of chatters.
In short, good place for hikers but not for thr ordinary people expecting a proper stay"

"We were arranged to stay at the Pink House this time. It was very straightforward and the scenery was beautiful. Although the road to this place is not easy to walk, it is not far from Desa Farm and the local produce market. The starry sky at night is also very clear, and if you meet the right time, you can also take pictures of star trails."
"The view from the accommodations was super. Although there were no fans in the room but at night it was very cold, if only the water heater could be more effective it would have been a great stay."
"I stayed at the 3 bedroom villa ( 6 adults ) earlier this week.(July2025)
What I liked about the resort:
1: it is a new property, only opened in February, so the furnishings are very new. It has a modern look. The bedrooms are big and spacious and each room has its own en-suite shower and separate toilet. It was also very clean. It is truly a luxurious stay but for the hot afternoon sun effects to the interior of villa in the afternoon as there is no air conditioning
2: beautiful surroundings, you can get great photos of Mt KK from this resort.
3: the staff were very quick and polite in answering/ attending to our queries/ issues we had
What can be improved:
1: When the afternoon sun hits the front of the villa, it gets very hot inside as there are only thin curtains on the front facade. Despite the fan full blast and windows opened and front door open, it is still very hot.
The 2 bedrooms on ground floor ( as they face the back is ok) but the 3rd bedroom on the top floor is really like a sauna,as all the trapped hot air rises and there is a lot of glass panelling in the front of villa.
So thick black out curtains or blinds will help.
Aircon the top bedroom, as one will only need it for a few hours in the afternoon.
2: Also the side of the sitting room and kitchen where there are windows, there are no blinds or curtains, so at night with lights on, everyone can see into your living room and dining cum kitchen.
3: All the instructions on how to operate the TV and TV box as well as the hot water shower units are in Mandarin. A manual in English would be most helpful for future clients.
4: I really hope the cafe/ restaurant will start operating soon, as this will make it much easier for guests to have their meals here without having to drive out."
"Hotel located slightly far from attractions area. Grable Road and ensure your car is safe and maintained before enter the driveway.
I am staying at Kinabalu View Room. The view in the morning is really beautiful ❤️
Overall, if you’re looking for a hotel in this area with a great view and a comfortable stay, I’d definitely recommend."
"Stayed here for a night. The location is a little off because you cannot see Mt. Kinabalu anywhere, but you would find yourself surrounded by pine trees, which is also a point to add. You could hear the winds at night, a little scary but also serene at the same time. I would not be bothered by anything else except for the network. It was so slow during my stay, eventhough they provided the wifi. What is the point connecting to the wifi if you cannot use it anyway? Our phone network also did not work there, unfortunately. It’s a big concern because people would want to text, call their families and friends besides updating their social medias and making research for attractions etc. If the management team could figure this out and work for a better improvement on this issue, it would be great and more pleasurable to stay. Other than that, it was a good stay. Thank you!"
"It's a magical, fairytale place. It's in a truly remote location, so it's difficult to find transportation without your own car. However, once you arrive (we laboriously found a taxi via Grab from Kota Kinabalu), Mr. Lee takes care of all your transportation with extreme punctuality, courtesy, and professionalism. All meals are served in the restaurant of a property located 10 minutes away (also walkable if necessary), the only one with a restaurant nearby. The prices are super fair and the quality is good. The breakfast included in the room price is a fixed option (Asian or American), basic but okay. Mr. Lee takes care of everything. The rooms/cottages, although in need of maintenance, are well-structured with an interesting and not at all random design. The view of Mt. Kinabalu from the garden is magnificent. There's no air conditioning, but the air is fresh and there is a fan. No problems with insects. The only windows that open have good mosquito nets. At night, the silence is absolute. The beds are comfortable."

Very Good
AAddy AzminFriendly reception and very helpful booking staff. Great service at front office. Smooth check in and check out.
House keeping staff so far has been smooth. Room is clean but exterior/interior need to do some maintenance.
Food is simple and delicious. Exterior and interior need to upgrade and required maintenance work.
Garden and surrounding area required some work to keep up with time. I see potential of the inn but need to keep up with current demands.
Nevertheless, it's peaceful and calming place. Hopefully the management improve it the exterior/interior look of it.

TL;DR: This place feels more like a meditation centre than a hotel, it will not provide you with supplements. It's a bare room. You need to bring toothbrush&paste and buy drinks somewhere as it is not provided. No tv and fan. No in-house restaurant. There are mosquitoes at the garden near afternoon, and the balcony at night, but there are no insects in the room (family room). In exchange you will get a very clear and vivid Mt Kinabalu view in the near-dawn morning (where there is no mosquito), a working shower with heater, concrete floor that reduces nearby noise, and cold foggy experience.
Long:
This place is within the fog path so you will get the foggy experience. You can also see Mt. Kinabalu at the right time and it looks quite close (e.g. dawn 6 a.m.). You can even see the electric towers and resthouse, it's that close. Moreover, this place is more like a meditation centre than a hotel. It is visibly run down probably since covid as that is also when the in-house restaurant got closed down. Considering my experience as a recurrent visitor of Kundasang, mosquito has always been the least of my concern. Somehow this place has lots of them. We got bit quite a lot in a short span of time.
Undesirable / Cons:
-No water kettle, no supplements (water bottle, coffee pack, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.). Porcelain mugs are provided though
-No in-house cafe/restaurant but nearby has a few (400 meters at least)
-No tv, no fan but cold in general
-Quite a lot of mosquito and moths outside at the garden place in the afternoon and at the balcony connecting the 2 buildings at night. There are no electric zapper.
-Seems a bit run down at the garden. 2 broken board pieces on the floor for example.
-It has no Qibla for muslim people, at least in family room
Desirable / Pros:
-Big room. Not smelly
-Is cement board floor
-Big single beds. Not smelly
-Clean bed. Fluffy cover.
-Water heater is working for family room at least
-Relatively clean inside room and at reception. No insects in room. No weird bugs around.
-Has a table and chairs in room
-Lots of electrical port
-Wifi provided by hotel is strong (2.4Ghz and 5Ghz
-Very near main road. So good road going towards the hotel
-Aki-Aki trail starting point is nearby. Plan to go next time so no experience as of this review
This place is not too bad. Not too good either. Personally, I wouldn't place this as my top place for the foggy and view considering other options but I don't mind returning if necessary. It will sure be much much better to highly recommended with much needed renovation and have some methods to deal with those mosquito.
p.s. There's a cute puppy that invites you at the entrance. 😂
p.s.s. I saw a greater coucal gliding into the forest in the morning!
GGuest UserThe destination this time is mainly to visit Mount Kinabalu. After screening several hotels near Mount Kinabalu on Ctrip, I chose this one, mainly referring to the geographical location, hotel prices and reviews. I drove from Kota Kinabalu Airport to the hotel alone, and the journey took 2 hours. The hotel is in a valley, and there will be a rugged road with many lush tropical plants on both sides. After arriving at the hotel, there is a feeling of sudden enlightenment, and the perspective is also very good. You can see the layers of mountains and very low clouds, especially at sunrise. It is very healing. The attitude of the staff is very friendly. Because it is located in the mountains, there are small insects in the room. I asked the waiter to help me clean it out, and they are very patient. The scenery of the hotel is nothing to say. You can see the mountains and the cabins below. Even if you do nothing and blow the wind, it is worth it. It is a 5-minute drive from Mount Kinabalu. There are also scenic cow parks and Mount Kinabalu ranches around it, which are very beautiful. The cats and dogs in the hotel yard are mostly lazy and sleeping in the sun. Although the hotel room facilities are relatively basic and there is no breakfast, I still think the overall experience is good, focusing on a quiet and comfortable atmosphere. I look forward to staying here again in the future and recommend it to everyone.
OOliver Fredfor the price of RM130+/nite for a room of 3pax I would say its really really worth it, nothing fancy but room is decent enough for me and my parents, water heater is workimg well as the weather there is really cold plus the rainy day, tv aint working but not a big deal as its time for family bonding😁 basic amenities available with clean towels, lots of parking available, free wifi available but was not that stable.
one thing good bout this place is the location, located right by the main road heading Kundasang town, and very convenient a restaurant situated just below of the hotel, serving NO PORK dishes, general food is and price is reasonable👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
AAdam AshraffThe location is great as its very near to the town/night market. Room is good as it come with hot water and quit spacious. We got pond view room. Very good. But, the hot water need to wait for next people to use as it might needed to re-heat back. As u are in cold places, the hot water need to be always available as soon as possible. The management can improve this. Other is ok. Good.
BBAL.RSure! Here's a **single, concise review** of a vacation at **Kundasang Mount Garden**:

**”A peaceful mountain escape with stunning views”**
I stayed at Kundasang Mount Garden for a short getaway, and it was a refreshing break from city life. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking—Mount Kinabalu right in view, misty mornings, and cool, crisp air all day. The room was clean, spacious, and had everything I needed, including a small kitchen and private balcony.
The garden outside is lovely, with flowers, vegetables, and even a little stream. It’s very quiet and perfect for relaxing. However, getting there was a bit tricky—the road is narrow and steep, so I’d recommend using a 4WD. Also, the hot water was a bit unreliable
CChu Kok LeongFirstly, the telephone number to the outlet is + 6 012 869 6969 as shown on a signage at the entrance to the outlet; the number advertised on this platform is not helpful when I called two days ago to ask about my booking.
Secondly, the road from the entrance down to the parking bays is steep requiring experience and skillful drivers especially when their vehicles are loaded with passengers or baggage.
Thirdly, the wash basin faucet in the bathroom of my room is loose, the shower head hose is inflexible, and the water pressure is below average.
NNanaSyakinahWe just wanted to try doing it in a capsule.. but this is the first time we've done it in a capsule.. the place is a bit scary.. but we'll try doing it in a tent later.. everything else is ok..
GGuest UserThe resort was on high ground and thus have a wonderful / fantastic view of Kundasang valley. The resort is a bit old. There was no free Internet in the room. The small 24 inc TV in the room was not working. No hair dryer and air con. There is 1 standing fan. I am ok with all Cleanliness was good.
