This hotel is within the castle walls. However you can still get you car into the castle. Just drive through the gate and you have plenty of parking spots. The hotel is really beautiful, as its made out of the old castle walls. The room we slept in was also made out of these walls which gave it an unique and authentic feeling. Our room was the first one and it was just across the main door of the hotel, this made it quite noisy. The hygiene was good! The service was good. Nothing special but everyone was friendly. There was one man during breakfast that was friendly and keep trying to talk to guests even though his english was not that great. This was nice to see! The breakfast was more on the traditional side, but there was still some choice that we liked. What was really special is that even at night you could still walk through the castle. We made a walk around 23:00 and this is something else, it is pitch black and really silent. This made this an unique experience!

Friendly reception lady, friendly staff. The room was good, very light and airy. The hotel has a homely feel. The breakfast was average. The hotel is at the top of the castle, so well located for the castle but it is a 30-minute walk up from the town (or 5 min by car via gravel road)

I love the character of this place, but they were quite insistent that they didn't have our reservation and they had only a big party of motorcyclists. They put us in a property through a gate, which may have been a neighboring property? Once we were there, the room had a lot of character and the bathroom was great! Unfortunately, there were mosquitoes, so we couldn't let a cool breeze in and the A/C didn't have enough power for the room

We reserved at this hotel but they decided it was better for us their neighboor without any notice. The place to be honest was lovely but while playing my kids found a 2 meters deep shadoof completely uncoverd in the middle of the living room. There was no toilet paper in both our rooms and not to talk about the breakfast. You have to wake up early if you wish to find smth decent to eat. There were only left a couple of crepes for my 3 boys and instead of preparing some they blamed adult guests for eating too much. Totally unacceptable in my opinion. Worst hotel ever

Such an amazing historical place with Castle Beret being the height of above all. Staff were so accommodating. Excellent home made food. My room and my family’s room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. All here is a definite 10 out 10.

We stayed at the Berat Castle Hotel for 2 nights this past week. The hotel was totally renovated for the last several years. The owner said they spent 4 years renovating and opened in 2021. The attention to detail and wood walls and ceilings are beautiful. The room was comfortable, the heater worked very well as we were there in the winter. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was nicely renovated. We ate the free breakfast both mornings at the hotel. The first morning the brought us a plated breakfast with eggs and other sides, along with a basket of their homemade bread. The next morning it was a small buffet breakfast. We both had plenty to eat and it was a nice breakfast. We didn’t eat dinner at the hotel but one afternoon we sat outside, on the side of the hotel and had a glass of wine. We ordered the grapes leaves and a salad. Both were really good! The owners are very nice and eager to please. All the staff did not speak English but were pleasant and greeting with a smile. The gentleman, I didn’t get his name, that is usually found walking around was always willing to help us out. He does not speak English but by way of sign language we figure out he makes the wine. He took us to see his set up for making wine and olive oil. Very basic setup and this is very common for Albania. It seemed most restaurants make their own wine and olive oil among other things. Grapes, olives, figs and some others I don’t remember are abundant in Albania. Our stay was lovely and very comfortable. It wasn’t hot while we were there so I can’t say anything about the air conditioning in the rooms. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Also, plenty of parking. Wi-Fi was good.

Berati Castle Hotel is “my home away from home” when I visit the beautiful town of Berat, my birthplace. It should also be your away home if you visit Berat because this place and his amazing people remind you of what Albania and especially Berat are all about, HOSPITALITY. We stayed for 3 nights in August with my family and we had such an awesome welcoming from everyone at the hotel in particular the owners, Genti and his wife Efti who went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. Berati Castle is a new hotel but with an antique architecture which takes you back in history. Beautiful carved wood ceilings all built by hand, stone walls, historic windows and doors which make you feel like living in a small castle within the big castle of Berat. I loved waking up every morning and opening the cute wooden windows only to smell the fresh air of the pine trees. No traffic noise, just serenity and peace, so relaxing! Thank you Genti and Efti for making our visit to Berat a one of a kind! Your cute “castle” is now “my home away from home”!

We have stayed in the Berati Castle Hotel for 2 nights and were very impressed with the place. All staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is very tasty, sunsets are stunning and the place itself is beautiful. We have stayed in the attic room, however before booking make sure that you check the pictures of the room, so you can decide if there is enough space for you, cause it’s not for a tall person. Otherwise you can always book the rooms on the lower floor. Internet connection is not very strong, and definitely should be improved. Rather than that we had a great experience Definitely recommended!
