D'Oriental Inn, Chinatown, Kuala Lumpur

We stayed in the family room of the hotel on May 14, 2009 with our two kids (9 and 3 years old). The room was small and clean at first sight. But we found a lot of cockroaches within a few minutes of entering, which was disgusting. If you are not afraid of having cockroaches next to you when you sleep, it is OK. I only like the location of the hotel, in front of it is Chinatown, there are many people selling school bags, clothes, toys and food, it doesn't look clean and the price is not cheap.

This is my 5th time staying in this hotel since 2007. Previously I stayed in Swissotel which is a few steps away. Without a doubt, its location is the best for those who want to stay near Chinatown. The hotel is very close to the monorail and railway, which makes it very convenient to go to other places. There are also many good food in Gujin, not to mention that after 3pm, the street in front becomes a night market with all kinds of fake goods. For those who like books, there are 4 bookstores near the hotel, one of which is a huge chain called "Popular". When the hotel first opened a few years ago, the price was very reasonable. But with the inflation in the past few years, it has also increased. This time I stayed for 100 MYR per night. But the most disappointing thing is that if you are unlucky, you will have to stay in the lower floors (especially 1st and 2nd floors), which are not only small and poor, but also have no small window - unlike the rooms on the upper floors, especially 4-6th floors, but the price is the same. Therefore, next time I come back, I have to look for other hotels on the same street. In fact, I have found two newly opened hotels. If I get a bad floor, especially for a multiple night stay, and everything else is the same - free wifi, elevator, clean beds, etc, I probably won't stay there. So be careful with management, you may lose a regular customer very quickly....

Hong Kong friends should note that the bed in this hotel room feels a bit damp, just like the bed is not completely dry after a heavy rain. I booked 3 rooms and this happened. The location of the hotel is like being in the middle of Hong Kong's Ladies Market. When I returned to the hotel at around 11pm, the vendors started to finish their work, so the hotel's sidewalks were filled with trolleys and the situation was quite chaotic. Petaling Street is better for shopping only before 3 o'clock during the day. If you want to stay here again, Hong Kong friends please choose the streets around Petaling, because Petaling Street is like a women's street.
