"Really nice hotel
but please remember to close your curtain, the view to your room from down there or anywhere else could be crystal clear.
But if you’re checking in during holidays or during the season where offshore people going/coming back to/from offshore, the elevator journey could be a hell of a wait.. i once waited nearly half an hour to get from 16th to G floor for check out.. so plan your travel well
Apart from that.. i really had a very nice stay"
"Well-located and affordable, with friendly staff, spacious rooms, and a nice rooftop pool. Good for short stays and families. However, cleanliness and breakfast quality are inconsistent, and some rooms have smoke or maintenance issues. Decent value if you’re not too picky."
"1. Their breakfast is the best! so many variety and u can enjoy a really good full filling breakfast. They even allowed u to bring your coffee to the pool, as it is just next to the dining area.
2. They use salt water for their pool. But their pool is the same floor as the lobby and dining area. So for us, we feel there’s no privacy.
3. Their room is actually pretty small. Compact. Stuffy i would say. But for some maybe that’s alright. We prefer a bit more space.
4. Parking can be tricky. Sometimes it’s full. Their parking space is limited so avoid coming during festive season😬
5. The hotel location is in town. So that’s alright."

"Checked in smoothly at this downtown 14‑storey hotel—smart location, walking distance to Menara Kuantan 188 and the mosque . Room had decent views, decent Wi‑Fi, comfy bed—nothing earth‑shattering, but solid . Bathroom was tight. Breakfast was passable—adequate, not memorable . Pool looked inviting, but others were already lounging by 7 PM; felt a bit crowded . Staff were friendly and helpful—parking got arranged despite limited space . Overall: no luxury, but reliable, practical, and efficient."
"The room: the room is old and the cleanliness is average but overall was okay. The lighting in the room is slightly dimmed. The A/C cannot adjust the angle.
The washroom: the shower area is slightly tight space."
"When I arrived at the hotel, I found that the price of Ctrip was twice the actual price of the hotel. The room area marked on the Internet is 20 square meters, which is only enough for a large bed. The large bed is one long and one short side against two walls, and the other two sides are less than 1 meter wide. Is this a 20 square meter room?"
"Location is strategic. Room is spacious, equipped with bath tub, balcony, tv has so many channels. Delicious buffet breakfast and lunch spread. Love the scent in this hotel. Will rebook this hotel once I am back in Kuantan."

Amazing
HHanhndzThe service was great from the time we checked in until check out. The hotel is nearby many attractions such as cafes, Kuantan Tower, Sungai Kuantan, the night car boot sale, and Lorong attractions. You get what you pay for, and the best part I liked most was the view from our room window directly looking Sungai Kuantan. The only thing I didn’t like was their pillows, better not use them 😅 unless you want to wake up with neck pain.
GGuest UserI recently stayed at this hotel, and I have to say, the location is fantastic! It's just a short walk to the beach, which is absolutely gorgeous. The sand is soft and pristine, and the water is crystal clear—perfect for relaxing or swimming.
Although the hotel is 45 years old, it's surprisingly well maintained. The rooms are comfortable, and everything is kept clean. The overall vibe of the hotel is relaxed, which adds to the charm.
The service and food were decent but nothing to write home about. While the staff were friendly, the service didn’t feel particularly exceptional. The food was okay, but there wasn’t much variety, and it didn’t stand out compared to other places I’ve stayed.
Overall, I’d say this hotel is a great option if you're looking for a beautiful location near the beach with decent accommodations. The beach alone makes it worth the stay!

Great
JJyapzPlace was great, very relaxing
Best thing was definitely the fooood. There wasn't much food around the area but the food at the resort was really amazing and the price wasn't super expensive
The activities was a little less, quite a few stuff needs to be paid, like board game and even volleyball, but ping pong, cycling and archery was free
If you're looking for somewhere out of the distractions, then maybe it's here, but if u wanna do some activities, hmmmm would rate it a 6/10, ended up watching netflix on laptop
TV wasn't smart enough to have cable or direct netflix
LLibra LadyGreat location to see a lot of activities within walking distance. We went to the Kuantan Art Street which is just across the road. The night market which is just next to the mosque. Room is spacious, clean and facing the river. Breakfast is justifiable. Love the rooftop terrace. Place to chill. The only negative comment I have is on the noisy aircon. Hope maintenance team do something about it. Overall, I did not regret choosing this hotel over 5 star hotel.
GGuest UserThe location of the hotel is the main selling point, near to shopping malls and eateries. The service is average, although they did prepare vegetarian noodle breakfast for us. The room is not fancy, without carpet and does not provide basic amenities like toothbrush and toothpaste.
AAngie0511Thank you so much for letting us stay at your lovely home. My family and I really enjoyed our time there — the design of the house is amazing and we had a wonderful stay.
I’d just like to share a couple of pieces of feedback that might help improve the experience for future guests:
When it rained last night, the ceiling in the indoor garden area leaked, and water was dripping onto the power point on the kitchen wall, which seemed quite dangerous.
The dish rack was quite dirty, and the chopping board had some mold, which felt a little unhygienic.
We also found that there wasn’t quite enough cutlery, especially spoons, which made it a bit difficult at mealtimes.
I hope this feedback is helpful, as we really think your place has so much charm, and with a few small improvements it can be even better.
Thank you again for hosting us!
AAnonymous UserOverall, the hotel service was okay, but the location felt quite insecure. There were groups of people—both boys and girls—hanging around the hotel and behind it, making noise at night. During my stay, a group of motorcyclists revved their engines loudly around 3 a.m., which was quite disturbing.
NNana nopeNo reception in hotel building, need to consult by going to another building. Got kettle, toiletries including tooth brush. Got tv. But, the aircond worked but was without a cover, the cupboard was half broken, the towel got a hole. The room was not big, just enough to fit in for a prayer seat.
AAendriouexI had booked for a single bed unit, for a 1 night-stay.
The room is a studio unit, with all the provisions of a basic unit.
Important items like a good & working air-conditioning, clean & not-rusty kettle, working water heater, clean sheets. All good enough for me, as I only needed an overnight [or 2, depending on schedule] night-stay.
It also has good security system - CCTV on all floors, in most critical corners, have staff even in midnight shift, staff contactable, good door security.
No qualms over staying again at the Royal. It is strategically located in town-center- walking distance to the 3 malls of Kuantan - Mega Mall, Ktn City Centre Mall & East Coast Mall. But I was driving, so that fits my purpose sufficiently. Royal deserves a consideration if you are looking for a no-hassle stay. .
