On a roadtrip we just spent one night at the hotel. A double room at the mary porter house with nice english flair. Great dinner, awesome breakfast, and a great selection of cakes for the afternoon. The possibility to stay the whole day after checking out until 6pm-using pool all indoor/outdoor facilities and a light lunch free of charges is very special! A place we definitelly recommend!!

Due to COVID and a move to Europe from North America, it had been 4 years since we stayed at this lovely property. After such a long time, we didn't know what to expect, but were happily suprised that almost everything was the same as before. The staff throughout the hotel is gracious and does an amazing job. The accommodations in our old room were consistent and extremely comfortable. The spa services and staff were exemplary. Our only disappointment was that the hotel is now crowded (post COVID) and the guests are not just the well-heeled Germans like before. Kranzbach has been discovered. There were more mobile phones and louder conversations than we remembered during our multiple stays in the past. The dinner is a bit frantic with staff constantly coming and going, but the food is excellent. We specifically want to recognise Thomas, Magdalena, Stefan and Hans (from the pool cafe) for their kindness during our stay. It was good to see a few familair faces. Danke! Change is inevitable, but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming back soon.

If I’d be able to double the stars, we would. 2nd stay here and again it was a blast! Personell, food, facilities and the surrounding nature is just amazing. The moment you arrive, the holiday feeling is triggered. We didn’t want to leave, and need to come back!

A German friend arranged my stay here and I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. Although they cater to the mostly German and European clientele, they made this female American solo traveler feel so welcomed. From having their yoga instructor Brigit give bilingual classes to translating the menu in English so I can have the full experience, I am so grateful for my time here. There are so many things I have to mention that this hotel got right. First, the location. I literally had the postcard perfect view of the Bavarian Alps…from my bedroom window! Breathtaking isn’t even enough to describe the beauty of this place. It is simply impossible to not be at awe at the nature that surrounds you. Second, the design of the hotel itself. Think moody interiors with impeccable lighting and perfectly furnished lounge spaces that are welcoming yet private at the same time. Kudos to the interior decorator because this place is Instagram heaven. The pools and sauna are so relaxing…but who has time for a soak when all I want to do is explore the great outdoors? And did I mention the VIEW from my room? Third, the professionalism of the staff who are very responsive. They have a free transfer service to the Klais train station (a bit of a disaster at the moment because the train service is disrupted by a railway accident early this year). Despite my 40 min delay navigating the German bus system from Murnau, the driver waited for me at the train station which was a huge relief. Fourth, the food. Breakfast and lunch are more casual affairs, but between 2-5 pm, you can have all the cake and other baked goodies you want by the poolside bistro. Don’t eat too much cake, though, because there’s a 5-course dinner every night waiting at your own private table. Just. WOW. For the price, Das Kranzbach is a great value considering that almost everything is included. I will stay here again in a heartbeat.

As always it is a delight staying at Das Kranzbach. It’s delightful from check in to check out. Everyone at the hotel is fantastic. Ms. Osbourne always made sure we had everything. Hike, swim, smell the herb garden and drink the fresh tea in the morning. You’ll love it!

I take out one star for one important reason. This place is rated as 5 stars and I don't feel it is. Is a really nice place but you don't feel luxury at all. Is just nice and cozy, nothing else. Besides that, I really love spending there two nights. The spa area, pool, sauna, relaxing rooms are very comfortable to spent all day! The food is average. For my taste every dish I tried was or too salty or too sweet. Food is a great area of opportunity for this hotel. The gym is ok. Is not a complete gym but for a fast workout it's ok. The rooms in Mary P House are nice. I didn't like the lighting. The light was too white. Would be much better if they use yellowish (warmer) light. Yellow light is the key to coziness. The views (landscape) are amazing.

Kranzbach's top class standard before the pandemic is maintained and even enhanced. The team did everything humanly possible to make our stay perfect and safe. Understated elegance, friendliness and an excellent team are their hallmarks.

I have known the hotel for a good fifteen years, was mainly a guest under the management of Mrs. Barta and owner Dr. Edinger with around 60 overnight stays. There is also a review for this. Now the 4*+ hotel has become a 5* hotel. For me, this change is mainly evident in the prices charged. Did the higher grouping justify the significantly higher prices? In my opinion, not. The service here is of a high standard, good staff, food, spa area, activity program and rooms. The huge open space of 130,000 m² is good for the soul. On the terrace in the garden wing I often had the problem of loud conversations from room neighbors, which is probably difficult to control. Breakfast offers a lot of choice, after a few days I still haven't got an overview of everything. I would have liked to use the bananas, but unfortunately they were always too ripe. They therefore have too much fructose, which is not something health-conscious people like. I asked several times for half-ripe bananas, but they were not available. This is a small suggestion for the employees.

I stayed at Kranzbach for two nights with a friend. We stayed in the gatehouse, which is a little out of the way but very quiet and without "room neighbors." The hotel has a very large wellness and spa area that leaves nothing to be desired. We booked several treatments and each treatment was very professional. I would particularly like to mention the service at dinner in the fireplace room, which was very attentive and warm. There was one annoyance with one of the employees in the wellness area, but our complaint was taken seriously and we see it as an exception that does not spoil the overall picture. We would be happy to come back.
