Stadshotellet Kristianstad

The location is super! Better can't go. All was reachable within minutes. The rooms are beautiful and the bed is comfortable. The bathroom was OK. No shower for whirlpool. Pretty inappropriate for shower. The service was rather deficient for such a local hotel. The bar was not open in the evening ( Tuesday). Under the week there is only until 8:30 or 9:00 breakfast. For early rising super but otherwise rather stressful. The tomatoes were sparkling. All the other was good eating.
Hotel Park Allé

It's sad to see a quality brand's reputation being downgraded by its secondary business. This is the case for Duxiana, the excellent bed maker's venture into hotels is filled with doubts of synergies, which I got to experience first hand. I stayed at this hotel due to business purposes. During the check-in, there was a private event held in the the (tiny) dinner area in conjunction with the reception - having to constantly move around my bags while people tried to pass by was not the start of, what I envisioned, would be a calm evening after a long days work. Next, I had to park my car, which they charge you more for compared to street parking. The parking space provided by the hotel has this extremely long and narrow entrance, so if you have a lengthened wheelbase car or SUV, forget about parking here. Next: the rooms. The rooms don't use key cards, but opts for a physical key. When entering the room (mine was a double room), you'll strangely find the shower cramped into the left (where there probably has been an old closet). Really, really strange. The bathroom is small and not up to date (and they won't provide you with neither body lotion nor conditioner, but only a two-in-one hand wash/body wash). Also strange is that the ”place your towels on the floor”-sign didn't have the Duxiana corporate logo in it, maybe it was the last hotel's name? Nevertheless, the rooms were decently clean and the beds are obviously very comfy and I slept like a baby. The next morning, I had breakfast down in the dining room. OK assortment, but I was a bit disappointed when they didn't have porridge. All in all, and sub-par experience, and they certainly have a lot to learn from their big brother in Malmö.
Quality Hotel Grand Kristianstad

I visited my hometown of Kristianstad together with my partner and we wanted a comfortable hotel in a good location. Grand Hotel was perfect for the situation. It is located only a two minute walk from the train station as well as the main shopping streets. The front desk staff were welcoming and knowledgeable. The hotel is in good condition and the room was spacious and clean. The gym is well equipped and I believe there is a sauna as well although we did not get the opportunity to use it. The highlight of the stay was probably the breakfast buffet - an excellent selection of Swedish goodies in a calming environment. We also tried the meatballs served at lunchtime which were authentic and so delicious. Overall an enjoyable experience and highly recommended.
First Hotel Christian IV

The hotel has a reputation for being fantastic, which it certainly was in the 80s. Since then, no one has given the hotel any love. Electrical outlets that were broken and hanging from the wall, dim lighting in the bathroom, large cracks in the plastic carpet and thick layers of dirt. I have never stayed in a hotel with black mold before, but after one night both my husband and I got headaches and affected asthma. The staff were wonderful but the hotel is a castle of crows. Nice on the outside and in the entrance, but everything from dented carpets, peeling paint, curtains that don't cover the entire window and a mix of different materials in the bathroom that must have been exclusive in the early 70s.
